Is there any other laptop that will have a super USB c thunderbolt 3 combo other than the desktop cpu?

It would be a lot easier to fit in if Nvidia offered the GM206 chip in mobile form, it's odd they don't. -
FWIW: Just ordered a P505 from mysn.de. On the confirmation screen and in the confirmation email the CPU changed from the advertised 4720HQ to 5700HQ.
Today is the last day you get a Samsung Evo 850 250GB SSD for free at mysn.
EDIT: Tried to get some info about when Skylake is to be expected. The guy couldn't name any dates (as expected), but the feeling I got is that it won't be soon.TomJGX likes this. -

when does the NDA time out ? At this point, only think i'm interested in is to see if Clevo have managed to cram i7 6820HK in 13.3" / 14" W230 MKII

Part of the NBA is that you can't talk about the NBA, or at least can't until when the NBA runs
Edit: NDA of course. FY autocorrect.Last edited: Sep 15, 2015TomJGX, ajc9988, Ionising_Radiation and 1 other person like this. -
basketball must be in a bad place, if people cant talk about it...

Haha autocorrect is on it again.

Ionising_Radiation ?v = ve*ln(m0/m1)
Probably not. Even if it's Skylake, TDP is too high and you'll still end up with Razer Blade temps (read: approximately 100 degrees C all the time, and throttling). More likely we'll get the 6700HQ.Last edited: Sep 15, 2015 -
And I thought the Fight Club is bad enough!
...ok wait, what was that rule again? Something about not talking about it?

i7 6820HK is rated at 45w at stock, same as i7 6700MQ. from what i've read, there are no tdp limits on the K version. i expect the overclocking on K to be essentially dependent on OEM heatsink.
-
Ionising_Radiation ?v = ve*ln(m0/m1)
I stand corrected. For some reason I thought the HK TDP was 65W.
That, however, would cause OEMs to place the 6700/6820HQ in smaller laptops than the 6820HK - they don't want customers overclocking their CPUs more than the heatsinks can handle, and then entertain RMA requests (for free). -

With the 13 inch you were never too interested in slamming up the tdp rather under volting it and keeping the temperatures in check.

will there be any Clevo with Mobile Cpu and SLI Models (Dual Psu and TB3) ? And Successors of P157/P177 with gtx 9xxm series? (Not the P650/670R series I mean)

I remember hearing Sept 16th for some reason (then again, all dates changed a bunch...) Hopefully some news soon!

They are all a month-ish behind schedule (as usual)...

I look forward to mid-October, then. Hypothetical P630SE, here I come. -
"Hypothetical P630SE" you mean P640RE ? already this new model is on Hyperbook website , no photos yet ;( But GTX 970M in 14" sounds promising

The 650RE chassis looks nicer than the SE, no? http://www.metabox.com.au/P650RE-overview.asp -
doesnt really look much different to the SE tbh...
-
Looks almost exactly the same

Maybe it is just the lighting used in the picture? I can't see any differences like if there were any ports moved around, or anything major at least.
-
The p650 re would have been much better with a super combo usb thunderbolt 3. My next notebook has to have that dont care about the cpus since those hardly ever really change more than 10% per cycle.
-
there is a haswell model of clevo 14 inch with 970m in europe for many months already

Guess the new Clevo's must be launching really really soon. Xotic went from like 18 Clevo models/variations last week to 6 now and half are intel graphics or 800 series

Wow. I just noticed. The clevo section is so empty lol.

It's been that way for at least the last 2 to 3 weeks.. getting rid of certain models I guess to remove the coordination headache old to new..
Still could be another few weeks before it launches.. they can't do anything until Intel launches first! -

Hey hey! Mind you, there is demand for a 14" slim laptop with 970M from Clevo - well the XMG C405 seems to fit this bill and it's based on a Gigabyte chassis so we are fulfilling demand just like the C703 did and that was MSI ;-)
Skylake is the Tock, not the Tick.
I'm sorry, worst joke you'll hear all week.Ionising_Radiation, Lurker Below, TomJGX and 5 others like this. -
MSI? Is that a W10 MicroSoft Infection? Don't be so sure about the worst joke all week. I still have time.
-
I've heard worse this week. I was actually thinking I should say Tock instead, haha.

Oh no XMG, didn't you do just that?!

Please XMG. This is NBR. Without a minimum of five derails and 50% off-topic posts, no thread is complete!
That being said, do you think you could list the chassis model on your website for your laptops? For the same reason you listed on the last page XD -
-
Mostly... Sometimes you get that nasty stuff that just won't go away and carries over, infecting all threads!!!

I know, done my bit for this thread off topic!
RE the chassis model, I would genuinely say that 90%+ of our customers have never heard of Clevo. All our marketing for the last 10 years or so has gone into XMG so there are multiple reasons why we don't list the Clevo designations. The Core series are branded "XMG Powered By Gigabyte" all over the web pages and on the laptop chassis itself - similarly with our other models it should be easy to see which chassis is which from review and info on this forum. Lots of other companies use their own branding and model numbers and don't mention Clevo at all, so perhaps for nbr members a separate information cache would be handy. For example, on each Official Owners Thread title only the Clevo and Sager designations are listed - in my experience this causes a lot more confusion between Sager and Clevo.
@Ethrem sorted it before I got round to hitting "send" on the pm! -
I don't doubt that at all. The amount of people who think their OriginPC laptops are actually made by OriginPC XD. The issues is that when I want to find a model somewhere for a UK/EU consumer I basically have to either google your models separately and see if I find the model by notebookcheck or something, or check various models and see if the specs match what I think the clevo models have XD.
A separate information cache would be nice though. I also agree about the Sager/Clevo confusion. It's honestly best that people learn the Clevo model names as it's easiest to get help if you know the actual clevo model via forums (not just here), but I doubt that'll happen anytime soon. Especially with people like Venom Computing who INSIST that they aren't selling Clevo shells rebranded and insist they've designed their systems from the ground up and "test for the best parts possible and bin for best gains".
