So much space for those drives...

When can we get a 15"~17" top tier performance notebook with no fat optical drive slot, just two 7mm SSD slots, and tons of space for processors/cooling?

I'd keep an eye out for the new alienware models for that sort of thing.

Well, after looking at the manual for the W650SR I'm sort of disappointed.
I was hoping we might see a metal chassis (big ask) and I thought the might be able to knock a bit more off the chassis than that.

What's much more depressing though is the lack of any modern ports.
It would be nice to see DisplayPort or even ThunderBolt. The lack of thunderbolt seems to quell the rumours that Haswell has it integrated, however Its still annoying that DisplayPort out is missing.

Anyway it really doesn't seem worth upgrading from a W150ER.

Oh dear... What's with that horrible flashy look Oo, and that logo it looks like a sect emblem...I hope that all that crappy customizations are only optional, It's absurd to copy alienware, if people want an alien laptop they will directly go to Dell... seriously it looks like one of JFK airport's landing strip...

Since haswell and the 780m won't bring much i'll maybe wait Not sure if the laptop offers optimisation for optimus/enduro it could be interesting.

First-time poster, long-time lurker/reader here. I'm considering a Clevo for my next notebook. I'm reluctant to go for a 17"+ beast because greater mobility is too much for me to sacrifice. I want optimus when on battery and doing general tasks that do not require the main GPU. I do, however, want a legitimate desktop replacement that can handle multimedia for my work and still handle most new games at high or ultra settings; therefore, I am eying the next gen P150SM. The W230ST also has me intrigued. Either way, do we now know with any certainty if the mSATA interfaces on these upcoming models will support SATA III speeds? I looked through the PxxxSM owner's manual and it didn't reveal specification. If this has already been revealed, my apologies.

Depends on how many sata3 connections are provided, I know that the QM87 is going to have 4, and its pcie 3.0 x16. From the looks clevo is using the HM87 for the P models, so we dont know what chipset is going to be used.

I also dont have any info on the HM87, AW is also going to use that one

The Q series usually just has a few features that consumers don't use and ports are identical.

yeah, what took me back is that intel in their specs for the qm87 didnt point for any pcie 2.0, rather all out pcie 3.0

support for mSATA 6GB / s is a very good solution,
even better was that if all four ports placed on the board are connected to one controller, and up to four 6GB / s RAID0 :D

I guess you mean 6G b/s? 6G B/s is PCIe cache SSD territory.

Edit: Oops. Didn't read the post correctly.

more spreading out about speed, PCIe2.0 up to 500Mb / s
PCIe 2.0 standard doubles the transfer rate compared with PCIe 1.0 to 5 GT/s and the per-lane throughput rises from 250 MB/s to 500 MB/s

Oops. My eyes somehow skipped the "all four ports placed on the board are connected to one controller" part. I thought it was 6GB/s from one single mSATA SSD.

Meaker, thanks for the information on the HM87!

    I also found this article:

The list goes on with 8 USB ports where two to four can be USB 3.0 ports, up to 6 devices with PCI express 2.0 5GT/s, four SATA ports capable of 6Gbps. The chipset doesn’t have VGA or LVDS as the CPU has the graphics on it, but the Premium chipset has two sensors interface with I2C and UART, 1.5 to 5MB firmware support, Anchor Cover, Platform trust technology and Platform Flash Armoring technology.

Shark Bay 1-chip platform chipset is Premium

These next gen Clevos are pretty different, not sure if I like them yet but they are different. Still look like thy are fairly thick especially the bigger models. Wonder how the next gen AW models will compare in size and power. Meaker?

I'm guessing there both going to be released around the same time of each other once they we see the new GPU's and CPU's. Man how I hate the waiting game.
    @Meaker
Which AW model are you most interested in?
I wish AW stuck with the 15" model and made a 13" instead of the 14", I need to balance mobility with power but if the right hardware comes along in a "next gen" 15" I would consider it.

I hope based on that link they are not expecting to start that system off at $3999.

Maybe I'm not reading it right or the exchange rate is not computing with me but that would be ridiculous to start them off at that price.

The link shows 3999 australian dollar.. means 4k usd but thats not the starting price the page seems to have some kind of problem. its starting price is 599 rrp (In the link u can see 599-3999) means usd 615 ... but i think its wrong because 17" older model was more expensive

excuse my english im from Nepal :x

wow that laptop looks like a cross breed between an Asus G74 and an AW M17X :( I kind of don't like the way it looks :( I prefer the P180HM P170EM look for the type of job I'm in. I want a work horse not a chick magnet :p

I like more the P370EM than P375SM. P370EM is luxurious and he has better design than P375SM. At P375SM I'm curious to on cooling when is thicker. :)

June 4 for, I presume,"P157sm". Very nice, I like that 2xmSATA3 and retained "optional 95% Gamut/NTSC" screen (still debating in my mind on that one). it is 200g heavier of the current model and 12mm deeper. I wonder if cooling was improved or it is just to accommodate extra storage.

Judging the past four Clevo launches, the resellers can't say anything until the day the preorders go live. They do post pictures in the lead up though.
