Ouch not good. But then again no 680M official driver out yet nor do you have any OEM driver that supports the 680M :p
You`re running the latest I assume?

    WHAT? The blasphemy!!

You mean they released the 680m without an official stable driver?

    ahhahahahaha

As you can see, both teams are guilty. The cards are new, drivers will be coming from both sides.

not the latest but the only one so far that actually supports the 680M, right?

Well lets not get carried away since he upgraded his 680M without any OEM support nor is it comparable to all the 7970M problems. Its just one benchmark. Hopefully not more :p

I couldn`t find any official drivers for 680M. Not Beta either. But the latest is this one for 675M and below. Maybe you should try it?

that's not necessary a driver problem could be many factors that make the game crashes it happens in the past to me and i tried to run the same game with no problems :)

That was like one game that nobody else plays (lol j/k)

but look at games like bf3 its a lot more stable at 40-50 fps on no official driver support compared to 20-70 fps and changes dramatically every second with the 12.7 beta crashing/BSODing driver support.

i will stop commentary as i want this thread to stay open.

FYI, BF3 flies on my computer...no wild fluctuations. And i've never suffered one crash or bsod on 12.7, or 12.6, or 12.5...or ever

Until drivers stabilize, here's hoping that Clevo will give you the ability to shut off integrated graphics like we can with Alienware

They released it just yesterday so its brand new :)
I know desktop models got TXAA support with this driver. Perhaps with notebook GPUs too

Yeah thats the thing. The 7970M issues seem to pop up at random people. Some have problems, some have it working just fine

Seems like the first game that has TXAA is Secret World but I don't really want to play that game hence the beta combat was horrible :(. I'll wait until other TXAA games come out to give a try :D

7970m problems are crossfire broken with performance degradation yeah is really sad after all this time but it's been like that forever

I am sure the 680m is going to work fine in SLI out of the box

Still crashes, maybe there's some compatibility issues.

Well this one on mine is slightly different :D FFXIV causes the GPU driver to crash, but I'll give it a try.

It seems like nvidia inspector can only show the P-state profile up to 0.862v, 0.9870v P-state profile is missing.

I recommend buying it from RJTech, not only is it cheaper by $389 without taking shipping into consideration, it also comes with a new heatsink too. I found they had a nice number of different shipping options to suit budget and shipping time as well.

Edit: Just noticed jaybee83 got there before me about this one :D

    LOL

Just look at those scores. I think you got the record for overclocking so far. Good job buddy
Most impressive by it all is that it still only runs at 70 degree celsius. 680M is seriously one BEAST

Stock 6000 to overclocked 7280 in GPU score and still only at 70 degree celsius is sick. Its still much cooler than 580M...

Why are you getting better results with DX9 btw?

Maybe because the Dx9 mode isn't using tessellation, that's what eats a lot of gpu power.

After doing an OC, close out MSI AB and reopen it. If it's like the 7970M, it should open up the sliders more.

Also, with FFXIV are you able to see what your FPS are before it crashes? And what settings are you using?

Great idea 3stars. What FPS do you get with BF3 with that OC hackness?

Sorry for all the questions. The last one from me for some time. You must be tired of them now :)

I was gonna get me a slightly cooler GPU than 680M since 580M was so hot, but with these temperatures its a no brainer to buy the 680M.

Well it still shows +135(max) so maybe not for the 680M.

1280x1024, 16QxCSAA(Through nvdia panel), Draw quality 8, background 3, shadow/filter highest, DoF/AO on, fps in Uldah ranges from 44~55fps, fps didn't show a sign of dropping, it just black screen and driver crashes, I haven't tried it outside the town yet.

    OK BF3 OC'd High/Ultra screenshots:

I don`t get why it`s only running at 67 Celsius max with this massive overclock. Its totally unreal :)

Mind doing it with Maximum Tesselation?

EDIT: everything else left at defaults but Tesselation at max.

EDIT 2: Where is it! Takes 4 minutes max to run through... Must... have... patience ;)

EDIT 3: I've run it 4 times now, and reflashed my VBIOS twice - don't make me come over there ;)

After running 1, or just looping, the most I see is 72C. Strange thing is, when I enable both cards and crank AA/AF/Tess to max and run, I see 69C max looping. Must be the fan settings kicking on higher for some reason I am not privy to. Stock clocks I see 68C max.

Alienware's cooling seems much better than Clevo's, you can see people posting their HD7970M is hitting 90C :p.

i can confirm that with clevo 7970m. I reached 95C on overclocked running 3dmark11 and also on bf3 maxed out on stock drivers. bought a cooling pad and updated to 12.7 beta driver and now it seems to stay at 80C.

Wow... so I wonder with better drivers if we are going to only see more performance or the possibility of an even higher overclocks being achieved considering all the headroom that is left in those temperatures.

Are you in a really low ambient temp?
