    You're shure this isn't a fake? ;P
I am still hesitating, as my machine runs brilliant now. Will sticking with Premamod 1.3 but installing ME update result in the same benefits? Or will it only work with BIOS 04? Prema just said, it would be possible.

No it's not fake! The reason the battery health is not there in HWmonitor is because the repair center sent back my W110er without the battery, maybe that is why it's so low? It was always around 11-12 W before on the old bios and idling at high 50's.

I'm also using the IME 8.1.0.1281 from station-drivers.com

Here it is. With bios 1.4 UV, latest ME, drivers pointed to by Prema. ~8*C lower temps in idle for CPU and Intel PCH

Question. How can change the boot screen back to Sager's? I prefer that one.

You can't unless you edit the BIOS file yourself. I don't know why everyone is so bent on the boot screen. Just turn it off if you don't care for it. There's an option in the BIOS. I'm sure he'd be glad to do custom boot screens for a fee. ;)

Hummm, and how can you be so sure the temp decrease is real?

Does anyone have a laser thermal sensor that could test the true temperatures?

Have seen lot's of pc's that after updating something, it just reported a few Cº less or more, but was just a software improvement on the thermal software detection, and not real decrease\increase of the real temps

    And I have a question:

What if I have 1.03 official clevo and put 1.03 prema's verion, will that also break it? (and can we go back from 1.03 prema to 1.03 official)?

They downclocked the HD4000 on idle so it lowers the temps...
You can go from 03 to PM v1.3 and back no problem.

    Thanks folks.
It seems steberg cpu is using quite less power on "ia-cores" than my i7-3610qm. I believe the minimum I could get was ~2.7w on it but I am going to reboot and disable most programs to make sure the cpu utilization is the lowest possible.

It seems it also lowered ia-cores quite a bit, but to be sure a w110er user without ME update could post a screenshot. I am also going to test my w150er but it isn't a "correct" comparison ;)

edit: and it seems my theory was wrong...after disabling every program and anti-virus running on background I also can get lower cpu power consumption:

It was worth the shot ;)

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

We can't go back, but at least can change from prema to official on same version as much as we want. GOOD TO KNOW, that will really make me use urs, because I know I can always go back to the same version but the official one.

And thank you about the explanation on the ME (never seen that kind of firmware updates for any laptop\desktop I have seen in real life), only been updating the intel management drivers on my desktop, but Asus didn't provided ME firmware update, only normal bios updates .

ps: You should have got a lot more REP .

this new bio update kicks ! after doing the bios update and figuring out how to update the ME, it's all working now. I'm getting past 4.5hr battery life with a mixed of light web browsing and youtube and music, not all at once all the time though. but that's still over an hour of battery life improvement.

I'm using the prema 1.4uv edition. has anyone compared the stock 1.4 with 1.4uv to see the battery life difference?

    THANK YOU! :)

With Nvidia Drivers 306.02, I don't get the lower GPU temperature benefits and it idles at around 58-60C, with the 304.79 Drivers, it idles as low as 45-50C.

Check the default Optimus settings with 306.02. Accidently nVidia put the nVidia card on always on. Just set it to auto.
My GPU idles at 40°C using Premamod 1.3 UV and the 306.02

What 650m voltage should the UV be? Mine is running at 1.000V. Also, I installed the 8.1.0.1265_5M Intel ME driver instead of the 8.0.10.1464. Should it matter?

Yup, do the updates and you technically SHOULD see a 10 degree difference. Since the intel 4000 is down-clocked from what Prema has mentioned in this thread.

Prema 1.4 and the ME update is a must do for our laptops. I have been running it intensively and the temperatures are great, I don't have the open the rear panel when playing Battlefield 3.

Is there a way to get a step by step guide to where to get this ME firmware update for my clevo W150ER and how to update this firmware? i looked on the net but get overwhelmed with all this info. So if there is someone willing to provide me with a download location on where to get this firmware update and how to flash it i would be super grateful. Thanx in advance

Everything can be found at Prema's mod website: BIOSMODS.WORDPRESS.COM

And all downloads are at the bottom of the page of the respective laptop's page. I think only the W110ER has an ME update available so far.

    But basically:

    - download and install BIOS mod (UV version will run the GPU undervolted for a cooler machine)
    - download and install the ME update
    - download and install the Intel Management Engine (ME) driver

The BIOS should be installed from a pure DOS environment, off a bootable USB key works best.

aha, ok ok, thanx for clearing that up then.

So in HWinfo it say for my ME v8.0 build 1441 hotfix 4 wouldnt this w110 update be ok for my ME as well? or is it really specific for the w110 only? since my w150ER also has the ME 8.0 only an older build

yes thats right, but i have a w150ERM instead of a w110ER so thats why i asked if i can use the same ME update for my W150ERM as well, instead of your W110ER. They do have the same chipset and all i think. but just to make sure i dont do anything i shouldnt do to brick anything i want to make sure about it before i try anything

Intel Management Engine updated to v8.0.10.1464 for:

    W110ER/NP6110
    W150ERx/NP6165
    W170ER/NP6175

    Links on the blog!
W110ER users don't have to re-do the update, if they had already done the earlier update.

It's there as before. You need to set a system password first and then do a full shutdown. After that you can set a HDD password, too.

I am glad you are happy guys. :)

One more question, Sorry feel like a complete noob here now :S I succesfully flashed the ME now, all went well with the instructions you provided, but now when i want to install the matching MEI_allOS_1.5M_8.0.10.1464 driver but then say : (translated from dutch) this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software. Any idea why this is then?

In main window HWInfo, expand Motherboard, then expand SMBIOS DMI, then check the Intel vPro at the near bottom of the list. There is the ME firmware version.

I already had the latest chipset drivers installed, but installing win7 again now and see if it will work then. I saw it did install the thermal driver orso for my chipset but not thru the normal setup, that 1 wont run cause my pc does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software :) hopefully a fresh install will solve it, but not sure about that

And i did turn the pc off after the ME update yes

    EDIT:
After a fresh install of windows 7 i still have the same problem when wanting to install the management engine driver, weird cause updating the ME firmware went well and all so why wouldnt it want to install the matching ME driver then? i also tried several other version of the MEI but all say the same now, while before the ME firmware flash i did it installed fine
    Last question:
If i cant get the driver to install is there some way to get the original ME firmware for the W150ERQ so i can revert to using that one?

Was the ME Flash successful by this context?

I was not able to find my version in HWInfo using a previously posted Symbios collapse intel vPro etc steps.

I Do not see ME options in F2 BIOS.

I've installed the 10 1464 IMEI drivers before I flashed it, but should it still be saying that I dont meet the requirements when I try to reinstall?

YES, A successful flash looks like this:

    http://i.imgur.com/Kv8Tf.jpg

I remember having the driver install problem at one point...don't know what triggered it...will travel the whole day tomorrow and look into it afterwards. I also have an older version of the W1x0ERx ME, just in case... ;)

The BIOS never shows the ME. HWinfo64 shows it again after a full shutdown. Otherwise re-install HWinfo...

EDIT: Will provide another ME update with a different and more reliable flashing method in a day...just hold off for now...THX ;)

Thanx a lot again Prema! I will leave it for now as it is now without the driver and will wait if you can either figure out why it wont install the driver or provide me with the original ME firmware so i can try and see if that removes the error that the MEI driver gives me now

This is never version with improved flashing method, which should create less driver hassle.

    ENJOY! :)

Hello again, thread. Still can't flash my laptop. Here's what i get in the process. DSCN0208.jpg Laptop hangs, stays like that for unlimmited time (for a night at least), the led indiactor on the flashstick stops blinking, And it is only possible way to get the NB back online is to manually shut it down. No harm cause, hopefully, 'cause I belive flashing even doesn't start. Oh, yeah, and there's a run-time error indicating something during the update which you can see in the screenshot. That's a very interesting situation because my friend could update the bios of his W150ER with your mod, Prema. Any ideas?
