Interesting, I'm already able to reach an 1100 MHz stable clock on mine at 2400 ram (1200 effective)
-
Prema, looking at the Lenovo Y400 thread the 750m is a rebranded 650m with higher clocks (and turbo) would it be possible to use the 750m Bios in the next update? I know it won't actually provided any extra performance which can't be gained from overclocking but it'd just be quite smart.
-
Not from the Lenovo as it uses DDR5, but yeah I can already tell you that my vRAM clocks much nicer now without artifacts with what I am testing here...
-
Prema you really are a legend! I've donated once but I'll send you another beer or two when the new Bios drops! I take it there'll be a UV version? I'm so happy with it currently, my temps have dropped massively!
Anything that can improve the memory will be great as that seems to be the biggest bottleneck. No one replied RE their iGPU clocks so can't tell if its the Bios or my engineers sample 3720Qm thats stopping it from turboing. I'll send a few PM's out perhaps? -
No idea man it works here...the GT750M vBIOS is already using almost exactly our UV voltages...
-
Ah right i'll put it down to my 3720QM then.. No matter, i'll take 8mb l3 Cache and 3.8Ghz over a HD4000 i'l rarely use anyway!
I'll look forward to the new Bios revision! -
Oooh I'd love to see what low level timings tweaks they've done with the GDDR3 chips to allow such good clocks. I think our GDDR3 chips are the same excellent ones on the regular 30nm Samsung Ram so the OC potential is definitely there.
-
I have problems
i think that the latest bios mod for sager np6165 increase the gt 650m voltage too much.
i cant even raise my clock higher then standard. i can reach better clocks with standard bios
is there a way to decrease the gpu voltage? -
If you selected the OV (Overvolt BIOS) then you can change to the standard mod. If you selected the UV version then it's Undervolted and it won't OC as much as it's mainly for powersaving. If you are already using the standard mod then it's the exact same voltage as stock BIOS.
-
thanks for the reply
but that's not what i meant
i want to know if i can decrease the voltage below the OV bios but higher than the standard bios maybe like 1.05v instead of 1.112v. -
1.05v is below stock voltage
Stock is 1.1v
Looks like your card just doesn't like OV, it's a sign of a very high quality chip to run on lower voltage, maybe even try the UV version which runs on about 1v. -
wow didn't know the stock is 1.1v mine only use 1.03v stock.
k then i'll try the uv version.
thanks again
-

btw which one is the UV version?
W150ERx/NP6165 | Prema Mod -
Opps you have a W15, thought you have a W11 for some reason...yeah there is only stock and OV for that model as it's not possible to determine save levels without owning that model. So in your specifc case better just avoid the OV and use the regular Mod version.
-
Prema can you tease us with any more info on the 750m VBios? Where did you get it from? How is it performing? What RAM OC have you acheived? Does it show up as a 750m in GPU-Z?
Cheers
-
Right now I am using a GT740M vBIOS, I am also testing others, but this one performs best.
Previously my vRAM showed artifacts from like 1000Mhz onwards, now I can use 1150Mhz and more without a problem...
Whatever vBIOS I will use in the next version it has to show as 650M otherwise the resisters on the board won't match the vBIOS ID and it won't work. -
Prema, what exactly does the 740M Bios do that the 650M doesn't? Is it just as simple as being more optimized?
-
1150mhz! Wow thats impressive! No worries about it not showing up in GPU-Z as a 750m but.. its the performance gains that are impressive! Are there any Beta versions to help test out?
-
I guess they have optimized the VRAM timings etc...but they are also using our UV version voltage, so it's undervolted out of the box.
I own the W11 myself so there is not much need of testing, let me get some things done first but in the meantime drop me PM with your mail ID.
-
Do those optimized timings (your guess) include any increase in VRAM bandwidth minus the more overclocking headroom?
-
Bandwidth is identical...
Blog updated with ME Firmware v8.1.40.1416 incl. a nice little Windows installer.
ENJOY! -
New updater from within win works great Prema! Do you recommend using some matching driver for this ME Firmware perhaps? and if yes wich would that be then?
-
Testing it with software driver 9.5.0.1428 here, works great!
BTW: I get all these messages regarding ME9 firmware...it is ONLY for Haswell and will brick your current gen Clevo!
The ME8 firmware linked on my blog is just a couple of days old and is the latest and greatest we can use.
-
What exactly is working great? lol What does it help or not help?
-
thanx prema will download that 1 here then and try it
-
Cheers Prema. Just installed it.
-
Ha ha ha, in this case it just meant that there are no side-effects of that driver, yet...
-
hahaha Thanks for the clarification. nothing yet here! going to go search out the change-log for this version as well
-
Hey, really good job Prema !
I just install the 2.1 OC bios on my w150erq (i5 3210m, gt650m 1GB GDDR5).
Before it, my GPU was at 1100/2700Mhz (core/ram) and now i run 3dmark11 (performance) at 1220/2790 ! My temp are good, 62°C max for CPU and GPU (cooling and fn+1)
P3064 on 3dmark (score 3038/3480/2749 for graphics/physics/combined)
I tried to use Throttlestop but i made "only" P3043 on 3dmark (2956/3956/2722), it's a little strange. -
1) Launch Throttlestop v5+
2) Set multiplier to “Turbo” (Highest value) and check the box.
3) Click “Turn On” in the bottom-right corner.
4) Click “Save” in the bottom-left corner. -
This is what i did, and it shows in physics score since it increased to 3956 (3480 without trottlestop).
But i have not touch the core/ram frequencies and my graphics and combined score decreased :/ -
Maybe the GPU throtthled because of the extra heat from the CPU, they are using the same Radiator in that model irc.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
I would try backing the GPU frequencies off and seeing if you get any reduction, if not then yes you are being throttled.
-
Prema a few weeks back you were helping me with my HD 4000 not turboing. I've still not solved this problem. There is a thread in the Alienware section about the 3720Qm ES and no one in there is having the issue so it looks like its down to a driver not the hardware.
The only driver i've not updated is the Clevo Hotkey. I'm using version 6.0045 and you mentioned you're using 8.0111. I can't seem to find this anywhere? Can you supply a link? Also is this the same thing as clevo Control center? -
yeah same software, the version Imentioned is for Win8 this should be the latest for Win7:
Hotkey_W7_6.0100.zip–åŽä¸ºç½‘盘|资æºå…±äº«-文件备份-å…费网络硬盘
Just hit the blue arrow down button on the left and punch in the chapta
-
Sorted, will give it a try when I get in. Thanks as always Prema!
-
I've installed that and done some more testing. It seems it will turbo up to 1050mhz but only for a split second then drops down. Everything is up to date and set to max performance. Any suggestions as to why this could be happening? I've not got thottle stop turned on and temps are fine.
-
Which version do you use 1.6 or 2.1 ?
-
1.6 but i've sorted it!! It was afterburner that was doing it! I have monitoring turned on for FPS and temps when using the 650m but it seems to upset the HD 4000. As soon as I close it the turbo jumps up and Fifa (game in question) jumps from 650mhz up to 1250mhz. Time to test 1300mhz. It plays fine at max settings now and should last a little longer on battery! I'm pretty pleased!

Hello,
I recently bought a w110er from PC Specialist with the following with processor and RAM:
Intel® Corei7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-3632QM (2.20GHz) 6MB
16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS 1600MHz SODIMM DDR3 (2 x 8GB)
I've already read a lot about the prema mod and all those warning got me a little afraid of overclocking it heheh
HWInfo64 show BIOS version 9.0 (??) but the BIOS says:
BIOS version: 1.02.11
KBC/EC Firmware Revision: 1.02.07
I'm using Win8 now but it came with Win7 pre installed with no UEFI enabled.
Do you think it's safe to flash the 2.1 UOV edition on my machine?
(I really want to disable the annoying battery beep hehe) -
Not one person ever destructed their Notebook permanently by using the Mod, you would be the first.
ENJOY!
-
How about W230ST Prema Mod when THE Machine is available? What do you think?
-
We are already beta testing for new SM models...
-
Prema how are you getting on with the 740m Vbios? Has there been a 750m DDR3 Vbios released yet for you to have a play with?? What sort of Benchmarks are you getting? Any improvements on 3Dmark etc?
Cheers -
had no time to follow it up, yet...
-
Anyone with kingston hyper X can give me their 99xxxxx - xxx.xxxxx numbers?
I want to see if my revision of the ram is the same as the ones that are being overlocked to run 2133mhz.
Thanks guys. -

Prema, do you by any chance have the thaiphoon burner profile for Kingston HyperX 1866. I tried the 2133 but did not work well in the end, and I forgot to take a backup...
-
Great my Thaiphoon Burner just expired and Vitaliy is on holiday...sorry without that I can't clean the serial number out of the dump.
-
I got Thaiphoon if it helps!?
