So here's something that intrigues me. When I'm and PUBG's intial screen where you click "Play Battlegrounds" my CPU temps are at 47C, and my GPU temps are hitting 76C. Why so high and it's not even being played yet.

So far temps are staying in acceptable ranges, GPU is holding at 72C in game, and CPU is hovering around 48C.

Further in the game GPU dropped to 68C steady but once back in the Lobby, back up to 76C. Weird.

Looking into it more, I can't tell if the space bar is supposed to be lit or not. On the product overview page, it shows the space bar lit in the first photo, then the very next photo, it's not illuminated.

@BrinNutz I took pictures and videos of the 1710 in the store. I'll go look and see if the spacebar is lit or not. :)

@LoneWolffe There is a $5 off coupon on retailmenot, if that helps. o_O I forgot to bring it when I went to get my 1510.

Anyone having issues with the 1510? So far, so good with mine...but I haven't gotten to game yet. I'm still checking out everything. (I haven't had a lot of time.) Should I go under device manager and select each device to check that the drivers are up-to-date? I don't want to be excessive, but I want to make sure I've done everything needed before moving my files over, etc.

FYI, my 1TB drive is HGST HTS721010A9E630

On a side note, I do notice that the keyboard is lagging sometimes when I type on here. However, I did have that problem with my other laptop. It could be due to all of the ads that are playing on the side...I haven't installed my preferred browser yet, and I haven't put any ad-block on.

@Chowda289 - Thanks, I look forward to it.

Also, my 1TB is the same in my 1710 as yours.

Got the 1710, is the audio being uneven (a bit heavier on the right-side) a normal thing across all or is there a bad-batch ?

Also, why is the boot up 30 seconds ? I tried a helios 17 at MC and it booted in 10 seconds flat .

So I noticed that there's two sub woofers on the bottom but only one is actually a sub woofer

No, only the 2nd port is x2, 1st one is still x4.

I had a strange issue where the loads for many of the devices where all trying to use CPU0 for all of their needs, and when a game hogged up CPU0, I got some nasty latency, and choppy gameplay. On a hunch, I decided to update the Intel INF to the latest (v.10.1.17415.8036), and viola! the system is now doing a better job of distributing loads, and the same game is now performing smoothly.

    Thought I'd share.

Sidenote: Also transferred my Win10Pro license Key to the new lappy from the old one that is now merde, and the Upgrade process was very painless.

I changed to discrete mode in bios and the light in front is green to represent this. But control center is displaying mshybrid - is this a false positive ? See below -

    Anyone else ?

@Meaker@Sager Thanks for the tip! :)

    What I've checked:
    1. Examined outside. Pressed on it. Didn't find any apparent problems.
    2. Turned on laptop. Set up Windows 10.
    3. Checked that I had the correct specs.
    4. Checked screen and keyboard. Did YouTube display (colors) test. Didn't see any dead pixels. Not a lot of backlight bleed.
    5. Pressed on all keyboard keys and functions to make sure all work.
    6. Shut down to test booting.
    7. Set up fingerprint reader and tested it. It works okay, but I have issues with any new fingerprint reader.
    8. Started it again, checked temp, opened lots of tabs, checked temp again.
    9. Did audio test via YouTube.
    10. Did headphones test.
    11. Tested connected speakers.
    12. Checked camera and microphone.
    13. Checked keyboard lights and display brightness.
    14. Checked bluetooth.
    15. Did CHKDSK on both drives.
    16. Ran Memtest86 for RAM.

Anything else I should do? I know I need to undervolt.

I also am finding that the Intel auto updater does not load hardware configuration on the website, at all.

Also running ATTO disk check, can someone tell me if these speeds are normal for the 960 NVME ? I did notice the boot-time for this thing is like 25 - 30 seconds which is weird .

Does this fix the micro-stutter from opening apps in admins mode ? I noticed it on my unit, I've updated all my drivers VIA the powerspec website for the 1710 and I tried opening HWMonitor (in admin mode) on a in-store model and it didn't stutter or freeze for a second like mines

Not a simple answer there. The microstutter can also be from another application interfering, like say an Antivirus app or say MalwareBytes. The display models only have MS Defender active. You could try an application like Process Lasso to measure system responsiveness.

@BrinNutz It doesn't look like the spacebar is lit in my picture of the 1710. I'll upload the picture in a bit.

I did benchmarks for the CPU and GPU of my PowerSpec 1510.

I forgot I had it on Power Saving mode when I ran these tests. I'll change my mode to Performance (and change my frames to 60), and I'll run the tests again.

At least for me with the 1510, you have to hold the shift button when you click to shut down. Then, hold the F2 button when you start up. (I found this out thanks to an ASUS forum.)

Probably because you are not seeing the option for it using the CC installed with system. Uninstall the CC and reinstall it with the version from the Support Page.

@BrinNutz Yeah, tapping didn't work for me either. I had to hold it until BIOS showed up. For the Clevo Control Center, did you click on Gaming? This is what mine looks like until I click on it: upload_2017-12-9_20-59-59.png

    After clicking on Gaming: upload_2017-12-9_21-1-5.png

It keeps reverting back to showing MSHybrid, even though I changed it to Discrete and my keyboard lights show that I am on Discrete. Someone else suggested to re-download CC from PowerSpec's website, I think. (Edit: And @Chastity suggested it above. :p)

@BrinNutz I uploaded a photo of the keyboard for the 1710 (from my video file.) (A certain someone in my family deleted a few of my photos and videos today, so I don't have all of the photos and videos I took at the store. Grrrr.) You can see that the spacebar doesn't light up. I didn't even see that initially. (Good catch!)

    upload_2017-12-9_23-16-38.png

How did you get CC to download? I can't get it to work. :( The link appears to be broken. Should I try the CC download link for the P650HP6 or PA71? Is it safe to just download CC and drivers, etc. from Eluktronics website here?

Also, did you download drivers from PowerSpec? (Just wondering.)

I used this link, worked fine for me last night:

    http://www.clevo.com/en/e-services/download/ftpout_download.asp?sno=9246&no=1

But that's what came up for the 1710 under Pa71hs.

For the P650HS here is a link to all downloads:
    http://www.clevo.com/en/e-services/download/ftpOut.asp?Lmodel=P6xxHS&ltype=9&submit=+GO+

The Cc version is showing a different version number for that though.

Hey anyone notice that after gaming for a few minutes, the GPU core clock is capped at 1468 Mhz, GPU-z logs it as Perfcap Reason 16, which is Utilization. So does this mean the GPU is not being used at full horse power? I see the logs and it's still 99% load.
However when I first launch the game, it still goes as high as 1860 Mhz, then that number decreases and stops at 1468 Mhz throughout the whole game. I don't have any fps drops or stuttering.
Just wondering because when first play Rise of Tomb Raider, the frequency always hovers around 1700 - 1800 Mhz. Just recently I discovered this issue that it always caps at 1468 Mhz, regardless of the game I play, even Tomb Raider now has the same outcome.

Here are some GPU-z logs that prove what I say above. I also include some open top results which I remove the keyboard for better thermals.

If you are not hitting max boost after a period of time, then the issue could be thermal capping, or power. Also, you did not mention which drivers you are using, OS version, etc. Any other applications running that may affect fps caps?

Also, if FPS are fine, then it may be using a lower core speed to save power. What power plan are you on?

    I'm using driver version 388.59. Win 10 1703.
I'm on Performance (both in CCC and Windows power menu).
I don't think it's thermal capping, since max temps are around 80...

80C is a bit high compared to mine. Then again, I keep my underside elevated. I'm on 388.43 with no clock issues.
