Prema BIOS questions

I do that every 6 months just to get rid off SW bugs.

 

@Prema was there or is there a Prema bios for the P950HP6 / Sager NP8950?

 

good day I am using a clevo p150sm-a laptop. I have the premi mod v2 on my laptop. Do you have a more current pre-mode mod bios? My GTX 970M display card does not work except 2015 driver and I can not update the new drive. I think the problem is bios. I apologize for the bad english

 

Just received my new EVOC PA71 ES-G and was disappointed to find out there's no Prema BIOS on it either; was under the impression that they came stock on most HID machines, but doesn't look to be the case with this model, which in hindsight isn't terribly surprising given it's just been released. On that note: any plans to add the PA71 to the Prema family @Prema?

 

There was not for the last series.

 

My GPU has been shutting off when it hits 90 or 91c I repasted and it's doing this even though the temperatures are down from when it was hitting 93c. Any ideas?

 

It could be the VRMs not making good contact with the heatsink.

 

Well that's not what I'd like to hear, but I won't give up all hope just yet. It's a great machine without the BIOS access thus far, but some love from Prema would only make it that much better.

 

Unfortunately, I have the same problem as @Guillome (in this thread) and @Floww (in this thread).

Hello @Prema , I've working on coffee-lake mod for old series laptops months.
But I still have some bug cannot fix by myself.

1.MSI 16L1 , 16L3
Port BIOS from MSI G25 , change pch-io configuration (both in BIOS and ME)to have all pcie work.
Modify dsdt to have battery , ac power , keyboard , touchpad working.
But USB and Graphic work abnormal.
16L3 has the same audio problem like DM series.
Modify on original BIOS , only works with coffee-lake CPUs less than 8 thread.

2.Clevo P7xxDM2,3/P870DM2,3/P870KM
Port BIOS from P7xxTM or P870TM , change pch-io configuration (both in BIOS and ME) to have everything work.
Modify NVdGpuPei to have old DM Edition GTX1080 works with P870TM based BIOS.
But all these laptop with 10-series graphic card need oc vbios , or they will not boot.
Modify on original BIOS , only works with coffee-lake CPUs less than 8 thread.

3.Clevo P7xxDM
The same as DM2,3 , and have audio issues ( audio jack mismatching)that I cannot fix.
I replace all EC 10 99 08 to EC 10 92 08 in UEFI Modules , got subsys id of realtek audio change from 10ec0892 to 77091558 , but audio jack still mismatch.
I edit driver inf , exchange 77(5)091558 and 77(5)021558 , but nothing happen.
And cannot power off when ac connected . It will auto-reboot after shutdown windows.

4.Clevo P870DM
The same as P7xxDM , only difference is P870DM do not have power off problem.
It has power on problem.
Sometimes cannot boot OS , stuck in "Resume from Hibernation...".But I didn't hibernate it , I just shutdown windows normally.

5.Clevo W650Kx/W650Dx N650DU
Cannot port BIOS from NB50Tx , it won't boot.
Modify on original BIOS , only works with coffee-lake CPUs less than 8 thread.
Port from W650KL , discrete graphic doesn't work.
N650DU has no discrete graphic so works fine.

6.Clevo W650KL
Seems it's a Z370-like BIOS , so everything works fine.

7.Clevo N95xKP6
Port from N95xTP6 , everything works fine.

8.MSI G65
Port from G25 , have one strange problem.
When I use USB mouse and keyboard at the same time .
Press A-Z or space , the left mouse button not work.
Modify on original BIOS , only works with coffee-lake CPUs less than 8 thread.

Honestly asking for solution to these problems or better method for coffee-lake mod than port Z370 BIOS to old PCH.

I have a P150EM, that I in bought in 2012. It had the nvidia gtx 675m graphics card, but the same died this week.
So I need to do a replacement, but It is more easy and almost the same price to buy a gtx 970m.
I wold like to ask about the Bios and vBios I need use to get a better performance.

Some data about my laptop:
KBC / EC Version: 1.02.11;
Bios Version: 1.02.17;
I intend to use only two sticks of 8gb memory;
I have the 180W PSU

I own a Clevo P751DM2G from Eurocom. I would like to update my Premamod bios to the last version.

Bios informations:
Bios 1.06.05EC v1
KBC 1.06.03EC
2.18.1263 Prema Mod Partner Team!

I don't know how to get it, so my question can by weird.

Can @Prema Team send me by MP the update or should I ask to Eurocom for it?

Like @weav , I was hoping that you would have the latest modded BIOS for the p650SG. I want to visualize MAC OS in order to do some app development in XCODE and the stock BIOS is limited. I've been looking everywhere but can't seem to find anything. Thank you!

There are usually periodic updates, but they're not published for public download. You would need to contact your seller for the updates.

I recently discovered this forum while I was on the search for Prema's Bios Mod, simply because I am unable to download it via his site and in the Tech Inferno forum. So far I found some really interesting topics which I am reading as I write this one here. So don't worry, I will surely become a part of this forum's community.

Stopping with the smalltalk now, I lately bought a Samsung 970 Evo (500GB) for my XMG u705 (which is a Clevo P771ZM), installed it as it should be done, pluged a bootable USB-Stick with Windows 10 ISO on it into it, installed Windows 10 as I wanted to. When it restarted it immediately booted from the USB stick again so I took a look into the (horrible) Bios, just to see that it deosn't even detect the NVME SSD ...
Furthermore I am in need of the Bios Mod, because I have an i7 4790k, 32GB RAM and a 980M installed, so throttling is quite a thing, especially when I render something on it or play a demanding game.

In short my request is it, to please get access to the latest Bios Mod, including security updates, for this device.

Furthermore I read somewhere about a VBios Mod for the GTX 980M 8GB, what exactly does it do, what are it's pros and cons?
