Hi @Prema i just bought a P775TM1-G from clevo-system (ex ceg hardwarecustom) and, as most european resellers they don't provide prema bios setup option. It's possibile to install it "aftermarket"?

If you do not get a system from a Prema partner, you won't get Prema BIOS.

I have a Clevo p150SM-A with a suspect 980m. I get distortion occasionally in some games (such as WoW), although it seems to handle Farcry 5 nicely!
Gutted to see that the actions of one person has made finding this valuable resource so difficult since I originally installed the mod. I would certainly be open to making a donation to get my computer back to full operation!
    @Prema Mod BIOS 1.03.11PM v2
    KBC /EC Firmware 1.03.08
I would like to replace the 980m with a 860m as it will suffice for my needs.
I've sourced one with BIOS 80.04.F5.00.06 Dated 03/09/14
    Device ID: 10DE 119A - 1558 5281
This seems to match the 4GB version from my research but GPU-Z reports 2GB VRAM.
It is recognised in Windows but as soon as I try and use it for a 3d application, it just hangs the application or goes to a black screen.
Do I need to update the vBIOS in order to make it work with the Prema Mod I had installed previously? I'm struggling to find any new information.

Any help would be gratefully received! Anything to have a laptop I can rely on again!

Hi Guys, would a 880gtx Work in the p150hm, or is a BIOS mod required?

@Prema do you plan on releasing a custom BIOS for the P775DM3-G? Curiosity only :)

Guys, is there a sort of "official guide" to prema's bios for p775dm regarding best settings to optimize system performances/cooling (not for overclocking)?

    Thanks

No you dont need modified BIOS. Stock BIOS will allow you to upgrade as well, you only need Prema BIOS if you want to do some serious overclock.

also only way to contact him is via mail or @Prema

    hello,

this post is basically to get in touch with @Prema since that seem to be the only way atm. so i own Clevo P370EM3 and atm its running with GTX 1060 which i bought from eurocom because i was expecting to get prema bios with it, sadly all i got is eurocom bios.

didnt find any way to reach you except tagging you here on the forum, so please help me with the bios and also i would like to donate as well.

    thank you :D

I might be wrong about this, but I think if you install Prema BIOS on your notebook u'll lose brightness control of your notebook. At least this was the case from a person who had a P370SM with a Eurocom GTX 1070.

i see what u meant i just noticed his bios number in the picture and its prema bios, was looking earlier to see if he does mention he is using prema bios or not.
only reason i wanted prema bios was to unlock power control on gpu since my core clock is not stable on my 1060.

    Reputations:

No can do. it's the vBios on the 1060 that limits the power not the actual Bios itself. you'll notice that you get power limt when doing benchmarks.

You can only fix this by doing a vBios flash with higher TDP which requires a hard programmer, such as the CH34A1 etc.

ya i read about the hardware flashing and not going to do it.
the weird thing with the gpu is it goes to higher clock on 60% or lower gpu usage and dropes by about 200 mhz when gpu usage hit 100% as u can see here

Well yea that makes sense doesn't it?

It's limted by the amount of power it's getting/limiting itself to do. So if you don't need as many cuda cores etc. it can run at higher clocks, since the power consumption isn't that high, but the moment its using more cores etc. the frequency will drop, since the other compontens will use more power, letting them run at a lower speed due to the power limit.

You'll notice when opening afterburner witrh power limit enabled, youll see that everytime you start something with high power consumption, such as firestrikew that your core clocks will fall down and power limit will flash on.

ya i do know what is going on and ya it makes since, i just though laptop bios is the thing limiting it and not the vbios. thats why i wanted it so i can increase the power a bit since the laptop can handle it.

Actually it's pretty hard to brick the card with the proper programmer because you can directly program the chip again. So if you take a backup first then you are set.

    @Prema

Not sure you have done anything past what I have posted below from another forum section for the P650SG but if you have let me know and will donate. Hope you are well!

    Hi all,

Wanting to update to the lastest and greatest for my trusty P650SG. Would like to have Prema's but seems a challenge to find. I have P6xxSG_37_39_PM_v2 for BIOS and vBIOS. I haven't flashed from Sager's 1.03.03 but now past warranty and trying to get more life from my laptop. Tried to contact Prema direct but seems a bit beyond my abilities or my understanding as premamod.com gets me no where. Prema.. if you see this.. willing to donate. Trying to get to 1.05.01 for bios and vbios with your mods. Please get with me if you can.

    Thanks

I was resetting my Prema BIOS with FN+D+Power method, I did that about 3 or 4 times when I'm trying to OC my RAM, then I realize that my time in windows always not accurate, I did many troubleshooting for 2 days to solve the time issue with no success, until I changed the CMOS battery,,,,,
So my question is: is this FN+D+Power method can effect the battery somehow, or it's just a bad luck that the battery needs to be replaced in the same that moment.???!!!

Yeah the time becomes out of sync, and it also messes up the notification area icons IME, when you do a CMOS reset. Did you try setting Windows to automatically sync with Internet time?

I did everything you can imagine from Windows and BIOS side, even changing the BIOS battery, nothing works. I don\t like to reinstall Windows before I make sure it can fix the problem, it's a nightmare.

Try disabling WIndows Time service in services.msc and restart your PC. While you're at it, please set the time in BIOS and see if it helps solving the issue.

If you are using internet time to sync your machine and it keeps going funky, your ISP's dns server may be having issues (randomly blocking access to various websites). In the US you can always change the 2 dns servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (Google dns) and see if that helps. Otherwise, you can always change time servers in Windows. Forgive me if this has already been suggested. :)

I did that already, once I log in windows the time start to be less than what it should be, once I sync with windows time server it correct the problem, then after hour or more the problem happen again.

How can I know that? should be enabled or disabled?

I know how to enable or disable:
    • To enable HPET as the only timer run the command bcdedit /set useplatformclock true
    • To disable HPET in Windows run the command bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock

    I added a new time server " isc.org " in here:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/DateTime/Servers

and use it as my time server, now everything seems to be fine.

    Thanks for everyone.

I feel this is not the right place to discuss this issue, I'll appreciate if anyone can PM with some solutions or guide me to the right thread to discuss.

The time inside the BIOS itself is frozen, I tried to restart and shutdown and the same, each time I enter the BIOS I found the same time values???!!!, I feel this is a BIOS problem or H/W related, did anyone face this problem before, it happened only after I reset the BIOS several times?

Sounds like either the bios eeprom is defective (no longer permitting writes to part of the chip) or the crystal is malfunctioning. The repetitive bios reset would indicate the eeprom as the most likely culprit, but whichever is the problem; both are cheap to replace. The cmos battery being decrepit or having a poor connection would have the same effect, so it's a good thing you've already ruled out that possibility.

Bios is supposed to be a 64Mbit eeprom, but check before you order a new one; the service manual might differ from your particular mb revision. Label printed on the mb is ' U12'. Could check whether any other bios values do stick ...

The crystal's part nr. seems hard to find a supplier for (KDS Daishinku ' 1TJS125DJ4A420P'), but you could simply measure it and order an ersatz with the same specifications and dimensions. Label is ' X4', it should be dead-close to the PCH.

And yes, issue doesn't seem related to the bios code itself, but flash a stock version anyway just to make that definitive. If that doesn't change anything then I'll move the posts over to a separate thread.

Thank you for your kind support, I'll try to contact HID to approve flashing the stock BIOS for testing, then I can follow your advice if the problem not solved.

Last update, I unplugged the power, removed the main battery and the BIOS battery for few minuets, after reset process I got the BIOS clock working again, I did that before, but this time it seems that the problem is solved.
I have no idea what and why is that happened.
    Thanks for everyone.
