It's basicially a modded clevo BIOS with unlocked features and some optimization as well. It's defnitely superior to the stock BIOS in many ways.

    Prema Bios

    http://premamod.com/

    Benefits of Prema BIOS :

    • Restores user ability to overclock or underclock the CPU
    • Restores user control over CPU power settings (voltage, watts, amps) for optimal performance and/or thermal efficiency
    • Restores ability to control non-turbo CPU core ratio
    • Restores ability to control CPU c-states and p-states
    • Restores ability to control BCLK (northbridge) and FCLK (System Agent) frequency
    • Restores ability to enable Intel Speed Shift Technology functionality
    • Restores ability to disable Intel Software Guard Extensions (SGX) functionality which is intended for software developers who want to use that feature and causes erratic system behavior
    • Restores ability to control RSR, Watchdog Timer, ASPM, ACPI sleep and hibernation functionality
    • Restores ability to control RAM timings, clock speeds and enables the utilization of XMP profiles
    • Restores ability to control selection of Legacy, UEFI and CSM to install whatever operating system is desired
    • Restores ability to control CPU-based DEP, AES (encryption) and Virtualization
    • Restores ability to control GPU scaling, PCIe speed and power management features
    • Restores control over Thunderbolt and USB 3.1 configuration
    • Restores control over SATA port configuration and Intel LPM. Having the ability to disable drive ports allows exclusive control over what drive receives the BCD/boot sector, system and recovery partitions during Windows Setup and eliminates the need to physically remove non-OS drives when installing a new OS.

so havent been reading for a while and just remembered about the vbios after trying to mess with OC and UCing for batt life and performance.
did a bit of searching and cant find anything outright at the moment so i'm just going to ask: has there been any progress on getting a modded pascal vbios to successfully load? or is the stupid nvflash still not cooperating?
i have the mxm 1070 in a P775dm3-g for reference

If I'm planning on getting a 8700K equipped laptop, but just wanna run it a stock speed (3.7 Ghz to 4.7 Ghz) and coupling that with a 1080 would I still be okay with stock BIOS or would I need Prema Bios to avoid thermal throttling?

Prema BIOS does way more than that, it can give you a serious improvement in how the lappy works in general, not just OC abilities.

Kinda new to this prema bios thing with CPUs. Prema has helped me out in the past with my 8 GB 980m (thanks again), but shouldn't these 8700k laptops be ocable from the factory? They are advertised as unlocked. Would be a little upset if I couldn't toy around with mine. Bought the p775ml? From avadirect (quick ship, but still in parts phase lol).

They are overclockable, but only by their CPU clock and some voltage, @Prema really makes them work much better and unlocks the true OC abilities of those machines.

@Prema I understand now what happened after reading about that one guy who did something so ****ty. I actually just bought and received my Eurocom Sky X4C (managed to be one of the first few buyers too!) and was really hoping to see what you could do with it. Though I wasn't here before to see how amazing your work was, I still believe you deserve a thank you for your hard work. :)

I agree it is pretty ***ty what this guy did but i dont think its right that so many people need to suffer because of one mans stupidity. Something so crutial to a system such a bios should no matter what be available to purchase for everyone. Yes sometimes people steal in this world but thats thats how it is and making something exclusive to certain few resellers that many dont have access to or cant afford is causing people to suffer. Its like imagine windows or thousands of other softwares being only available through certain resellers. People steal software all the time but that doesnt stop the sellers from selling to everyone. How many threads and posts on this forum of people begging prema for the bios? One shouldnt have to go ask via PM which in many cases will receive no reply. People have overheating laptops and are not able to get most out of there system because of it. Sorry but I feel need for a change. Please Help spread happiness and equality once again @Prema
Everyone deserves ability to have access to your hard work

    ^^^^^THIS!!!!

I cancelled my order with my 1st reseller, 1. Because after a month they couldn't get my order right... sent me a lemon and couldn't replace it in an acceptable time frame and 2. Because they aren't a Prema partner. Sent Prema a pm last week about obtaining the custom BIOS but I see now that it hasn't been made available yet. Lol. I wouldnt reply to me either...lol

Lesson learned. I'm ordering thru an authorized seller... Especially since I'm ordering the SLI version of the Clevo... I'll need all the help I can get to squeeze every last drop of performance out of this coffee lake.

My advice. Relax. Once the BIOS is available he may help he may not. In any event, there are plenty of people on this website willing to help you with whatever issue your having. It may not be as soon as you like...trust me, after receiving a lemon computer, I was up for hours in this site begging for help. Learned a lot about my CPU but at the end of the day, it was a lemon. Point is, you'll receive help, just be patient...

I talked to the Eurocom reps and Prema. Prema told me that I had a standard bios and then Kevin at Eurocom told me that it was an accident that I was able to select the unlocked bios option as it was still in beta. Kevin couldn't tell me much more other than "The ability to turn on and off things such as webcam, audio.

A lot of extra overclocking and tweaking features."

EDIT: As for my laptop in particular, I was able to bench (Firestrike, multiple runs) 4.9GHz on the CPU by just adding +60 in the voltage offset. GTX 1070 performance wouldn't budge from any amount of OC as it constantly hit power limits. One of these days, I'll find a little bit of time to start OCing my 8700k again. Currently at 4.4GHz @ ~1.1v

He rarely just gives the BIOS away, they're even more protective after the people over at techinferno decided to steal his work and repurposed as their own.

So it's quite understandable that he's protective of his work.

No one is asking for him to give it away for a free hand out. We just want to be able to purchase and support the developer like people have ability with all software developers. Sad so many people dont have and cant have such crutial part of the system and are suffering as a result :(

So solution is robbing many people the ability to have it at all. Not everyone has access to prema partner or can afford. If what u say is justified than every software developer should stop selling their software to everyone. Im not asking for anything different than what every other software developer does. Preserves equality

Lmao the amount of people thinking they're entitled to the Prema bios.

It is not a necessity, neither is it selfish of him or whatever names you guys are saying of him for keeping his work private. He does not work for Clevo, he started doing this of his own free will. It was because of the very same people like you guys that made him decide to not publish his work in public any more.

His loss though imo, he could have made lot of money. I would have gladly paid $30 in paypal or bitcoin for a PREMA BIOS. If 1500 laptop owners did that, he would have $300,000. 1500 is not that far fetched either btw, he is very popular as far as I am aware.

Prema will answer your PM's but it'll take time. I sent him a massage asking P775DM3-G unlocked bios. It took him around 4-5 weeks to reply. Just last week he contacted me and now I have bios.

    So be patient...

You should be complaining to Clevo, not Prema.

They're the ones selling $2000 laptops with a locked BIOS and no support.

Prema does this on his own time as a hobby. The fact that he does this at all is a blessing.

I'm glad he makes some money off it through partnerships with resellers. It encourages him to keep doing it for us.

I purchased from an official U.S. Prema partner (HIDevolution) a newer model laptop (PA71HS-G) that I don't believe Prema has made a BIOS for (yet). Is there an list somewhere that's updated when Prema releases a new BIOS or is the policy to just keep contacting/emailing the reseller?

Money isn't everyone's motivation. Having a little of something that is real and good is a lot more satisfying than having a lot of something that isn't.

Eurocom isn't using PremaMod. I also have nothing to do with those 125$ that they are charging for that 'unlocked BIOS'.

Once ready they contact you and remote flash your system, nothing you need to do.
