I noticed on XoticPC's site that it now says "(Back Order 3-6 Weeks) for the 2090. Was I unlucky enough to order right after the cutoff of shipments and will have to wait another month?

I need some help. I just got my 2090 today and my screen flickers and appears distorted. It usually boots normal, but when I apply any pressure at all to the back of the screen/the lid, it begins to flicker and colored portions appear distorted/off color. White parts are pixelated and slightly reddish tinted.

I installed XP SP2 and manually installed all the drivers on the provided CD. I downloaded Nvidia's 8-series drivers and the 101.42 from LaptopVideo2Go and both return the following error when I attempt to install:

The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible
with your current hardware. Setup will now exit.

I tried manually installing the driver by going into the device manager and specifying the extracted files from the 101.42 driver. Still, my screen flickers.

If anyone could provide insight into my problem, please do so. This is extremely irritating and getting this laptop to work so far as been an absolute chore, what with having to compile/burn a slipstreamed sp2 cd.

Yeah, I am going to call tomorrow just for more details on the shipping date thing. Feel a bit guilty to call, but hey I guess I have less patience than I thought, especially if its backordered again.....

I'm totally amazed that there are still production problems on the IFL90/Sager NP2090 at this date. You'd think Compal would have had the time to put their house in order by now.

You need to download the modded INF file for that LV2G driver and replace the INF that comes with the 101.42 driver. NVidia drivers won't work in your laptop, you need Compal's or modded drivers like LV2G.
I don't think flickering comes from drivers though...
    Let us know what happens.

Kodo you ordered the 28th of August correct?

Mine hasn't been shipped yet (22nd) would you get it fast because of the WSXGA+ screen? thats the only difference between our specs
    oh, I have the T7300

This is really wierd... now my screen looks fine. I called Sager and got all the info for sending the machine back, but when I booted up to try to email them images of the "defected" screen, the flickering was gone.

I have one question for other people with 2090s though. If you apply slight pressure to the back of the screen (the lid), does your screen get fuzzy/distorted in places? This still happens a bit to me and I'm wondering if it's normal.

I'm just really finding out how interesting college can be without a laptop :)

It's becoming a very interesting semester.

I'll call them tonight to see whats going on and post on it. I'm glad PNB's customer support is so excellent.

When I apply pressure to the top left part of the back of my screen, everything gets staticky/pixelated and white parts of the screen turn a reddish pink color. Anyone else have this problem?

I got a 3 to 5 day estimate from Xotic PC support. But that probably means late next week like in Banana's case... or the week after.

So after all my complaining in this thread, my Sager has been shipped from Xotic. I ordered on Aug 17 and today is Sep 12 so that's less than a month turn around time. I'm really excited!

Ordered with no ram but it shipped with 1GB, which is OK in the end b/c I am adding a 2gb stick. It's coming with WSXGA, 2Ghz, and 80GB 7200rpm.

Is there a way to disable the touchpad and buttons when a USB mouse is plugged in? I kept accidentally shooting in Half-Life 2 earlier.

Well, i ordered on august 17th from xotic, with litterally no changes to the base (T7300 cpu only), and last week they told me it would ship before the end of this week.

Now today they tell me that it will be going into testing "soon" and will ship in 2-5 days.

Then i see people who ordered in freaking SEPTEMBER getting thier laptops.

Is anyone else pissed that the orders are apparently being filled in a random manner?

Yeah, I posted about this before, and while I ordered form PNB, and knew there would be some wait....I expected at least a estimate by now...and not another 3-4 weeks.

I couldn't get a call in last night, too much homework, I'll try again tonight.

Apparently there is a shortage of the lower res screen now? How come there are so many shortages of components for this model? The 2090 has had since june at least to smooth out production.

Ordered mine today. Greg from discountlaptops (are they the same as xotic?) called me within an hour or two of ordering and said it might be three weeks, and I got the hint that it might be more than that. A bit worried cause who knows what might be out three weeks from now!

He did say that if you choose WXGA instead of WSXGA that it will ship alot quicker - days.

I don't see how that's true. It seems that a lot of us that ordered WXGA are waiting weeks more than people who ordered WSXGA in general. I haven't gotten my WXGA from August 9th, and here you see people that ordered two weeks after me and already have theirs and they just happened to get WSXGA.

August 9th? Wow, have you called them? I ordered on the 22nd, so its not TOO bad yet, I know people have waited longer than me. But I also got the WXGA because that was the screen that was going out faster (at the time). If i have to switch to WSXGA+ to get it out earlier....well i'm on a budget, and really need it for college.

Didn't get to calling them again today....

if anyone calls and gets a updated "status" let me know!

if your using the elantech touchpad software, open it up, go to touchpad, and check in the box where it says disable while typing. it doesn't close the touchpad, but if your typing or pressing down on the keyboard, the touchpad disables itself so if your palm or wrist touches it, your gun won't shoot (i had the same problem when i was playing HL2. this pretty much did the trick and then i hooked up my wireless keyboard/mouse). the disable has a 2 second pause, so after you type, wait two seconds and the touchpad will reenable itself.

Yep. XoticPC says 3-6 weeks, powernotebooks says 2-3 weeks. I hope the latter is right. But I can take the wait. Its best to be patient for a month for something that'll last you 2+ years than get something that isn't as good.

I've been trying to get a estimate on mine, and no luck yet. I know people who ordered like August 29th who have it already, and then there are people who ordered early August and don't yet have it shipped.

I really hope its not another month.

It appears that WSXGA orders are being filled faster. I'm still waiting for my WXGA from August 9th. But they may have just overlooked me, because I haven't heard of any other people waiting for orders placed the same time as mine.

As mentioned in my post from Thursday, I ordered a 2090 and when Greg at discountlaptops called, he said if I switched my screen to the WXGA it would come much faster - as in days instead of weeks. He also said something about a fire at the manufaturer.

It seems that what retailers are saying vs. what actually happens doesn't always add up.

hm when i called PNB they also mentioned a fire, but they said that they were short on the WXGA and they had enough WSXGA+. He said if any WSXGA+ extras came in, he would get back to me.

Either way, he said it would most likely be at least a week, and most likely the 2-3 weeks stated currently.
