I'm still waiting on the best deal, and a detailed review, I don't want to make a bad move.
Edit: How do ya like my avatar? -
What do these buttons do? I've always wanted to know.
Edit: and for that mater, what does the "Smart Charging" button do?
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Those are Quick Launch buttons for WoW Video and Audio support.
The User's Manual can be downloaded at http://www.bizcom-us.com/support/IFL9091/UManual/030/IFL90-030_UM.pdf -
You might be able to get some little kind of discount if you called your reseller. It sometimes works. -
(Actually I will do that once I see the first detailed review of the sager and only if it is a good review.)
Edit:Seems like its just a huge file (11.5megs is big for a pdf) and is a very slow site.
Edit #2: I searched the entire user manual and I still don't see an explanation of what on earth "WoW Video and Audio" buttons do or what the "Smart Charging"/"Q-Charging" button does. Does somebody/everybody know something that I don't? -
the pdf manual works I'm viewing it now

mixxster, the Cash Discounted Price is $1,332.78 plus shipping at http://www.powernotebooks.com/configure.php?special=472 with the Sager 1 year warranty...is that close enough?
-
Well I'm on the fence about the integrated bluetooth or the TV tuner, the cheaper it gets, the better chance I have at being able to afford the integrated bluetooth or tuner.
On a side note: If I buy the laptop without the TV tuner, would it be possible to buy the tuner later (if I decide I want it later) and install it myself? -
-
-
-
better to get sager one its internal as well
-

I'm not going to comment on the quality of the sager tv tuner, but in general anythign with an antenna is goign to get better reception.
Now, maybe technology has progressed far enough that a great quality antenna-less TV tuner is possible in a laptop. But I don't know. Just saying in general.
EDIT: My bad, read Paladin44's post. -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
GlueEater...the TV works from your coaxial cable...perfect reception and you can schedule and capture just like a TV/DVR
-
-
BLAH, sorry about that. -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
No problem GE...I like them internal because you don't have to carry something else around. Of course if you buy an external one you don't have to buy one again next time you buy a laptop. There are Pros and Cons for going either way.

Donald if I buy an external antenna can I use it with the T.V tuner to get over the air signals? also does the tuner work under Vista's media center?
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
It comes with an antenna for use outside the US. It will work in the US kind of depending on your location...but you can also get an antenna to coaxial adapter if you have a good antenna.
It works with Vista Premium and Ultimate, but not Business. -
it would kill me to have to wait for the laptop to be shipped from Nevada on top of waiting for the order to be met. I'll see everyone here having so much fun with their lappy while I'm all by my lonesome on my big hunk of a desktop with wires coming out the wazoo.

mixxster, they are all shipped from the Sager factory in California no matter which reseller you buy it from. For warranty repairs you have to send it back to Sager in California, but they pay 3 day shipping both ways.
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
If you buy the PowerPro J 10:15 version with the Standard 3 year warranty we pay for Next Business Day shipping both ways, and if you call me I can upgrade your Ground shipping to 2nd Day Air for the original shipment...so it won't really matter that you are all the way over in Maryland
It will cost a little bit more, but being in Maryland you may find it is worth it. -
paladin44, does PowerNotebooks.com give 32 bit Vista cds with the purchase of the 64 bit like xoticpc does?
-
LOL mixxsters about to buy it lol
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
It is Sager that gives both CDs when you buy with 64bit Vista installed, so yes all Sager resellers including PowerNotebooks.com will ship with them.
-
Donald did you buy a 2090? if so and have it on you, do you mind posting some pics? This is a request, you don't have to do, would it be possible for you to record a video of the 2090 being built at your place?
-
I still want to wait until I see someone else get the laptop and review it or something, anyone know that they were in the first shipment? Thanks Donald for answering all my questions, are you doing all this on your on freetime or is this part of your job?
-
id say its probably part of his job but i could be wrong

What we have handled are pre-production engineering samples...not production models.
Let's wait for the production models to arrive before judgments and reviews are made.
Patience pays big dividends. -
I thought I saw at least one person who said he would get it buy today and report back to us with a mini review, what happened?
-
My order just SHIPPED!!!!!

Donald/paladin44 If I buy the TV tuner, is there a coax jack sticking out of the laptop, something like this:
If not, do you have any image of it on a similar laptop you could show me? -
change your ram to 2gb one stick then you can upgrade in the future to four without losing money.
What do you guys think of this. I might get it and replace with the current one in the laptop, this looks more slick and then the side will look nice. -
I don't plan on upgrading the memory at all, so I just got the 2 stick option.
-
How much?
-
O DAM stop production change the video cards to this!!!! http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_8700m.html
70 bucks for the slot loading -
