thats good to know.. cause atm the fans are keeping my X9000 at 26 degrees C idle!! just 5 C higher then my room temperature
-
-
Have you actually got 3 fans? I have the extreme edition chassis with the space for a 3rd but there isn't a fan there, have you actually checked?
-
Yea I got 3 fans, and just flashed the firmware... awesome stuff
-
3 fans is definitely a battery killer.
-
How do you know if your system will come with the extra fan?
I dont think its mentioned in the configuration list... -
Just open the back panel and check. It is recommended to open the back panel at least every 1-2 months in order to clean the dust and dust clogs.
Also, you can hear a third fan if you place your ear there.
26C , that is a nice idle temp.
I`m wondering about load temps though, that`s what really matters. -
3d mark 06 max temp was 41C, fans on auto mode. Still have to check with a more CPU intensive task

falcon2claw, yours is not a Sager NP579x...correct?
That would explain why it might have 3 fans. -
41C damn man, that`s freezer cold.
Try Wprime 95, Unreal Tournament 3 ...these are CPU intensive. -
hey you know what.. your right. I thought 3rd space for fan = third fan. lol sorry that I missed this.. well I cant be all sure though.
I cant open up my notebook atm cause it has warranty stickers. Gonna call my reseller soon anyways to tell em that im gonna clean it from dust, and ill have to remove the warranty stickers. this is really annoying :|
I cant 100% check yet, but when I put my ear next to it, your right it seems the noise comes from the other 2 fans, and there isnt a third one.
btw this is a rock xtreme 770, so should be same as NP5793 (?) -
using Wprime 1.61 I got max temp 43C on speed test and 48C on the stability test
(stability test aint on the pic, cause I only noticed after I posted this, that its probably the more intensive test to run)Attached Files:

falcon2claw - You should be able to see the 3rd fan below the fangrill, if it looks as the other small fangrill at the top left corner (turned over). I got extreme casing aswell, and under my lowerleft fangrill, im able to see bare metalparts under it, which I cant under where the cpu fan sits, the upper left one
But thats some very nice temps you got !Mine with a T7500 just reaches 60°C under full load on both CPU and GPU
-
Your temps are awesome, you are one lucky dude. -
I have 3 fans (I think), it's not really loud but sometimes they go louder for a couple of seconds and then normal again, I haven't done any hardwork on it.
I don't know if fn+1 or +2 or +3 is working for me, I don't hear any difference or such.
Do you need to push the numbers on the keypad or the numbers above? -
You should hear a big difference. Fn + 1 = vacuum cleaner
FN +3 is much more quiet
Have you got the right firmware? -
-
I don`t know where you can see it, but you can just as well download the latest from sager`s site and flash it.
If you already have it, it won`t make a difference,if not, you`ll be getting the best one yet -
Just to be certain -
Indeed it will
It is universal for all Clevo M570's
So just go grap it off sagers site, burn out the .iso to a cd and let the firmware do it's magic -
-
No problem mate, had the same thoughts as I also have a non-sager one
-
It worked perfectly, but that was a LOUD beep at the end of the flashing
-
I was abit shocked about that one aswell, thought something went wrong TBH
But read what stood on the screen and rebooted... and... IT WORKED !
So indeed, the first firmware install is a bit of a shocker -
-
You might be able to adjust the sound level of the motherboard speaker (whence cometh the loud beep) through the BIOS setup.
-
yeah scared the crap out of me when mine did this the first time.. lol
-
I have a question, is the fan firmware from sager including a keyboard firmware?
-
Tha fan firmware is a keyboard firmware.
It not only changes the fans behaviour but also gives you 2 more options in terms of fan control:
- Fn+1 full speed, pressing Fn+1 again will revert to auto mode.
- Fn+3 medium speed FORCED until FN+1 is pressed and reset to auto mode. -
Just a thought and I'm not sure if it's been addressed, but isn't it a bad idea to throttle the fans down to medium while the processor is pumping away? I would imagine using a processor heavy application would require the fans at full speed to keep the coolest temperature. Maybe a water cooling mod option coming from our guys over at XoticPC?
-
^^^^ lol.. man now that is some notebok cooloing although imo it needs a better fan setup on the rad.. the one little puny fan on there would not cut it in my book...also looks like a car heater core.. not 100% sure though..
-
then is anyone else experiencing unresponsive keyboard (mine completely misses out letters sometimes - a bit rare though) with this firmware?
-
mine use to do that. it was before this firmware i ended up replacing the keyboard which solved the problem, not saying that is your issuse but it was mine. it didnt happen all the time but once in a while.. also if this is happening check for keyloggers via a good av program.. they can cause the same issues
-
It's good to know that at least it's not just me but that it could very well be the firmware that is causing problems.
I also get problems with the insertion bar jumping to random points on the screen in applications such as MS Word (2007), Corel Word Perfect (Office X3) and others. The letter drop-out is really annoying.
Clevo should investigate the problem and issue a fix.

I had similar problems with my keyboard with my HP zd8000, the keys would lag big time and skip. Found out that a lagging/skipping keyboard can be the signs of a bad battery, which was the case. Not sure if this is the same problem, but worth noting.
-
I'm having similar problems with keyboard input. Sometimes letters seem to just get missed out. I find I boot up sometimes though and it doesn't happen at all (e.g. typing this now with no probs). Sometimes I'll boot up and as soon as I start typing something long I notice it (sometimes happens after hibernate/standby as well).
-
lol maybe now sager and xotic will see i was not the only one..
-
Z, sleep Works!!!
-
-
-
Go to the BIOS(press F2 on POST), and enable USB Legacy Support...
All that latency problems should disapear... on mine worked.
-
-
hmm odd not sure why it would be the battery?? well i guess it shows it could be anything lol..
-
Well, I guess I`m lucky then.
My keyboard is fine and doesn`t miss any letters.
And the fans, even though still louder than my perfectionst`s desires, please me sufficiently -
for me it seems to be the firmware causing the missing letters. If I try the stock firmware, the keyboard is fine, but fans are also very loud...
and hehe, might as well just write this here: Does anyone else's AC powerbrick hum like crazy? high pitched humming noise -
It`s not supose to do that. Either your outlet is not earthed or you have some powerful electronic devices around.
Try moving its position.
It`s not uncommon for it to do so, but as long as it`s not noisy,it shouldn`t be a problem. -
its sitting on my desk next to laptop and desktop, so yea its next to some powrful electronic devices
thanks for that insight -
Is it possible to turn the fans completely off?
-
Yes. It`s called "fry the laptop" and only costs about 2.5k $
-
And the best of it, is reversible!
