I believe there is no link available yet. Some people have it because it comes with NB preinstalled, but they can´t back it up....

    And they don't have fan control,so I think there's also probably ramping,no ?

that is my guess. i have not tested this one yet but i assume that they dont have the issue because the fans are always on at a steady speed. unless they are strictly set to auto then they may still ramp up..

    hmmm, checkout this thread: http://forum.novatech.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25838&start=0

bottompost of the first page. seems the 1.00.09b is just a custom bios with no change at all but an updated LAN PXE function (whatever this is).

so no real deal and no need to flash....

beside that: i currently have the 1.00.08 bios onboard and i have sort of white borderlines. as far as i know (regarding the 1.00.08 notes) they shouldn't be there!?

no they should not be there.

what FULL version did you use or did you just you just use a update one?

try to relflash with the full clevo version 1.00.08 then see how it goes dont use a update from like sager or someone..

if that doesnt work then try to reflash to a older FULL version then "refresh" it to the new one again

€dit says: just saw your linked bios :D will flash it when back home i guess ...

a link to the older .07er would be nice as well... not sure when i'll be back at home today but just in the case those white thingys are still there after the flash i could start reflashing .07 and .08 afterwards ;)

No, this is the main bios, for the fan control you need the KBC/EC firmware, Z do you have this on your rapidshare too?

    Looking for free money :D

It's not that easy, unless Sager gives it up,I don`t think you`ll see it.
I don`t get one thing though, rumour has it that Sager requested this new firmware, right? so how come they still kept the 7sh as the latest one?
And why would they ask for one without a fan control ?

I have found out that Fn+(F2+2) enters maximum performance mode that I have no idea about, it is a picture shows a tap and water coming out of it :) I can do it several times right now but once in a while I had found out that there is also an economic or slowdown mode when pressing accidentally Fn+(F2+?) then it showed me a picture of a turtle which means slow :) I can't do it anymore, I have tried different combinations but nope.
I'm very serious, and curious about it, maybe my bios or kbc firmware is different from yours, they're both 1.00.03, stock from CLEVO not sager.
Did anyone encounter the same hotkey combination.
Will you try this strange combination and post what happened :))

Note: I enter maximum performance mode by holding Fn and pressing simultaneously both F2 and 2 keys and quickly press any button (because Fn+F2 turns of LCD) to see the picture on left top side.

Totally weird, someone did ever try hotkey driver update or sth ?
There is a driver update for Clevo that is also suitable for Sager I think.
I'll post an e-mail to clevo and ask this.

If so then the bios is responsible for them, 1.00.08 erase these useless modes since zfactor and eleron don't have them.

yes, it works for me on .08

you have to press and hold fn, then press f2 then 2, let go of fn, then the screen will go off, then press fn again to turn the screen back on really fast and the icon will be in the top left corner

So this is somewhat related to fan functions but I have a question for you all..

I was gaming for like 4-5 hours yesterday, on my 5793 (2.5ghz, 4gb ram, 64-bit vista, 8800m gtx), and had the fan set to constant medium with Fn+3.

I noticed after about 4 hours the laptop was a fair bit hot on the bottom, where the hard drive is, and I could very occasionally hear something that sounded like another fan revving up for a few seconds and then off again.

    This begged the question:
When playing games like CS:Source, WoW, and other games that aren't really that gfx intense, can I leave my fan setting to Fn+3 safely?

Also, if I put Fn+3 fan mode on, and the laptop reaches its max temp. peak point or whatever, will it automatically start the other fans, or the gfx card fan?

So basically, is it safe to leave my laptop in fn+3 when im gaminglate at night and dont want to wake my roommates. lol.

    any replies are greatly appreciated

if it gets too hot, it will go higher than the medium setting in order to save your laptop.

wait... so just to confirm, even if im playing a high intensive graphic game, and have it set on fn3, it'll ramp up so as to not to harm my laptop?

that sounds too good to be true!

It should let it get hotter than usual but it should speed up the fans if the cpu/gfx get close to critical temps (I have never tested that though)

ok... i think thats what i was hearing last night when i quit counter strike then.

thats a relief! i was scared it would stay at medium no matter what temp it was set to, thus harming my computer...

alright, thread jacking over. thanks guys!

hey guys I got the 7sH firmware too and I could replicate the fn+f2+2 thingy. have no idea what it does tho. anyhow, how come I see people claim that there GPU temps are so low? My NP5791 8700 GT vid card idles around 55-56 degrees celcius in Vista. Is that good or bad? someone please let me know.

I'm using nvidia's 167.62 from laptopvideo2go.com. This version works OK, but I've seen a few problems (contents of new windows will occasionally be solid black until I force the screen to refresh). I'm using the Sager BIOS with fan control.
