deathwinger: why are you still convinced that PCMW is being truthful about their launch date? They've had obviously fabricated "setbacks" consistently for almost the past month that they have used as excuses for delaying their launch of the m860tu.
-
Well, I don't know if its my approach or whatnot but since I have ordered to this point, PCMW has not lied to me as yet.
I heard nothing of three fans, I was told that the date was getting pushed back to around now for production and that the 9800M GTX will not be going in now but it will eventually be in there, their sources told them that it would have been in time for the 9800M GTX launch but now Clevo is playing it safe and holding back for a while.
The only inconsistency was where I was emailed that the hard drive would be a Western Digital but then a few hours later I was emailed with a correction saying that they stopped using Western Digital and they are using Seagate drives and an apology.
They've played fair with me so far, and everything that has been said should be going into circulation from this week onwards. If there is any inconsistency, well then shuxx, i'll be waiting til the 14th. -

Deathwinger, In all fairness hasnt PCMW assured you with prior ship dates that have come and gone? (I could have sworn you were one of the posters on it shipping by 6/14) I think there has been a few un-truthful statements made by them not only to their customers that have relayed the info here but also through their miss-advertisements.
-
They never assured me of those dates, it was only advertised as such and they did inform me of the processor delays when I read up on the Montevina holdback. If anything the most solid information I have gotten and as they have relayed to me is that this week is when production starts, next week is the first line of shipping (my EDGE and the other lucky people) and the rest will be sent out first week in July.
now if that is not met, I shall take your position, they are possibly untruthful. But i will not cancel my order as it seems besides trying to get pre sales their is nothing wrong with their customer service (as individuals who have purchased from them have voiced) and unless you can match my order with PCMW and give me a price better than 2,917 US, there is no reason for me to cancel. -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Again, we will see if their 2nd or 3rd ETA sticks.
But then again you might be asking them to match our pricing...
(if you are still inclined to keep your order where it is)
-
oh snap, competitive pricing.
crossing fingers xotic's prices will be better than pcmw "500 off" memorial day sale...pleassssse. -
Finally, a build ETA.It was taking too long already...
-
P.S. Keep in mind the actual order for those specs, without warranty would be, 2,917 - 499 = $2,418 US
Match that and you are a demigod. lol. -
So 2400 with a 650$ discount? still ouch
But then again, 4 Gb DDR3...hmm... -
I just stuck with the 2gb. I got mine for 1933 (sans warranty) shipped, i got the 200/7200 hdd (although i want the 320/5400), P9500, 1680x1050 screen, 8800m gtx, vista home premium.
-
That's more like it.
Let's see who`ll review it first -
-
Yes, I see your point now.
Well, you paid less than I did one year ago for my RU, so you`re good -
Yeah i figure ill upgrade to 4gb later, just because they are asking so much for the thing. and i couldnt take the extra premium for that HDD. Anyways, i dont plan on getting it from PCMW anyways. I wanna go with xotic. Im just keeping my order with PCMW just in case they got the best price by a mile. I bought my bros laptop from justin and i just cant believe how great it is, how cheap it is, and how good of CC i got.
-
I just checked my order from PCMW and noticed that what was originally an order for a 5400RPM 320GB harddrive has now been upgraded to a 7200RPM 320GB harddrive...with no extra cost
. This makes me happy.
-
Hopefully the 7200rpm doesn't create to much heat in that chasis, with the 1 fan!
-
yeah, that could be a possible problem. I ordered with the 9800GT though, are there any speculations on what kind of heat that will produce?
-
^^^they now put a desktop card in?
-
He must`ve meant the M GTS.
-
9800 M GT is what he meant.
We are on a notebook forum gentlemen (and ladies), unless specified otherwise, please interpret any GPU mentioned to be the notebook equivalent. -
^^^okok, my apology. so after 9800m gtx and 9800m gts, PCMW had finally decided to throw in 9800m GT also?
-
They dont have GTS on their page now ........
-
They also took out the 9800m GTX on their config page.......
-
Looks like they`re finally coming clean
-
what about everyone who PO'ed with the 9800m?
-
They'll either get downgraded to the 8800M GTX or to the ati viper 3870 cards.
-
so their supplier is not even offering 9800m gts?
-
Their supplier is Eurocom.
Whatever they have on their page is what you`ll see in the Edge. -

Clevo has still not confirmed what video card(s) will be available in the Sager NP8660 (M860TU)...they have only confirmed what will NOT be available. -
When, by logical deduction, if you remove what is not available, you`re left with what is available :twitcy:
Good night all. -

well i hope they do come clean cause i ordered with the 9800M GTX so now when i complain I better get a good deal on the m570tu lol.
-
The FX3600M however is still there. On the HP8710w that board asks for a 135 W power charger. I wonder if they are really going to try it.
-
-
Isn't July 14th Bastille Day? I wonder if there's anything allegorical to be had with that? -
Yea, Montevina is actually a secret mind control device created by the frie...sorry french fri...I mean, french people
-
auburncoast Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
well, they took the 9800GTX down due to contoversy but they(PCMW) still plan on putting it in (I called them) with an ETA of end of july early august...
-
As Marie Antoinette would have said today. -"if the people don't have cheap desktops why don't they use their voodoo laptops, with 3 SSD in raid 0, instead?" -
You guys need to lay off the pot.
-
-
lol they they also finally removed the "production/shipping date" of late june/early july
Any advice on what to say on a angry call to have free upgrade ?? (I would love 4go ram or the 320go -
About the 9800gtx, they said they took it down because of controversy from nvidia but they still are pursuing it. However, they also said that the new ATI card is coming out that's supposed to quash the 9800gtx and they might just offer that instead to ppl who ordered the 9800gtx on an "even exchange basis" or so they said.
Sounds promising. Either way - look at those 3dmark06 gains! WOW! -
I call BS. who`s with me?
-
I found that's very interesting.
-
-
Ok,fingers crossed. Hopefully , the ati card will beat nvidia in games too
-
Tell you what. My guts say that Ati is bragging based on squat.
The 9800M GTX will be roughly 15-20% better than the current 8800M GTX, and the viper hd 3970 will probably fit in between the 8800M GTX and GTS.
9900M GTX, that`s another story. Rumours unconfirmed. -
9900m GTX? I don't except to see it in 1-2 years.
-
auburncoast Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
i don't expect to see it at all lol. as for the ati card the 3870 is just one that they are going to offer. the new ati card that is supposed to beat the 9800m gtx is that supposed M89 or w/e they call it. It's not yet posted. lol. I would like to get something out of all of this too.
-
the only ati card that can beat a single 9800m GTX is NOT the 3870, but the supposed 3870x2 for laptops... which would be sik if you can have two x2's in a the d901c...
but we'll see
Sager has confirmed with Clevo that the M860TU will not support 44W+ processors or the 9800M GTX because of the thermal budget!
