no, other way around

thats what i figured ... i see some poeple on other forums saying they think the oppposite???? not sure why??
-
I read a yahoo questions thread one time where some guy was saying the 9500M GT was more powerful than the 8800M GTX because "it's newer" and because "everything becomes outdated"
be careful of that type of logic -
The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
I really dnt think 9800GTS is going to be faster than 8800GTX.
-
I Hope Not!!!!!

Another week till speculations die.Dnt get all of your BP's high
-
One reason I did not want to release the new Clevo Guide until the end of this week was because I was waiting for this rumor to be confirmed.
I have heard there were tests on the M860TU going on recently... and did not want to post anything unless if its confirmed.
In any case, we now know the facts. That is a good thing.
Side Note: I hate resellers not replying back to me for the new Guide update... the big Clevo 3 of North America has not even replied back while resellers have.... weird.
You hear that SAGER, PRO-STAR, EUROCOM reps... reply back to me or you will get blanks in the guide. -

The point is can anyone find a link that shows the 9800M GTS compared to the 8800M GTX?
Until we can find a reliable test or two, everyone is just guessing aren't they? -
what do you mean by that? -

i think the logic everyone is using is that PCMW had 9800gts priced lower than the 8800gtx, hence its weaker... indirectly less power consumption? -
i guess we can probably compare the desktop 8800 gtx/gts, 9800 gtx/gts. the result should be similar.
-
Someone call PCMW and clear things up.
-
There closed atm
You are going over their tmrw right?
-
Yeah pretty sure I'm gonna swing by tmrw with my buddy and check them out.
-
So why not another introduce a new model. Clevo has to stay compatible with the latest and greatest technology. Secondly, I still hold out that Clevo is working on a redesign to the venerable 9262.
-
The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
They have 5796 coming out with 9800GTX right?

The Clevo M570TU will support the 9800M GTX.
At this point any conversation about the QX9300 is premature...there is simply not enough known about it yet. -
Will only the new M57 series support 9800gtx? I assume it will miss college buying season
-

The M570TU and M860TU are two different models.
-
my bad... i was so caught up in the excitement, that i didn notice the model switch
-
So then should I take this to mean that the 9800M GTX will actually produce more heat than the 8800M GTX? I thought that one of the main bonuses of the 9-series cards was a lower power draw and heat output?

^^ It is hard to say considering there is little confirmed information available on this card.

I suppose only time will tell.
I take this with a grain of salt purely because of the following reasons:
1. We're unsure of the 9800m GTX's stage in development. We've stumbled upon leaked information indicating an increase in stream processors, but what else?
2. Clevo's announcement about the 9800m GTX is based on what? Granted, we can assume they have access to the card. Or, could these conclusions be based on "Better Performance, More Heat" logic?
3. Clevo wants to release a high performance, gaming notebook and not support nVidia's potential mobile flagship GPU? As a consumer, I think this would at least warrant taking another look at the cooling system implemented. However, this may be viewed as a time-sink by Clevo. They've designed a notebook centered around adequate cooling of the 8800m GTX in mind, and might rather invest their time in a new model altogether. -
Xephon, let me say it again, "Clevo had never announced that 9800m will be support on M860TU"
-
This news doesn't bother me at all since I went with the 9800 GTS when I preordered from PCMW. I am just happy that such a powerful 15.4" notebook will be getting released soon. I don't need the very best GPU in there, I'm fine with having one of the best GPUs...I'm more excited about the whole package (montevina, less power consumption, etc).
-
Powerful 15.4" with such a powerful card....doesn't not matter, I feel nothing even if PCMW is not able to put the 9800GTX in eventually.
I would have actually felt regretful if I bought a Sager 2090 a few months ago. Knowing this amazing laptop was around the corner. Thank goodness I chose to wait. -
Any word on whether it will ship with all the montevina features? (wimax, etc.) Or will it just be the montevina platform and ddr3 ram? If not will the 5796 have it all squared away? Really hoping it'll be all set and out for the college buying season so hopefully I can get the most longevity out of a notebook as possible.
-
This is not contract law. I could scour the web and find hundreds of prior examples to illustrate my point in an argument against you. -
@Kronic, the early model will NOT have wimax, montevina wifi card and hybird graphic system.
-
the Clevo D901C (aka Sager 9262) remains to be the only notebook on the market that will have the most longevity... regardless of the new mobile platform (Montevina). -
-
You're not very good at following an argument, are you?
You realize that PCMW's reported shipment of PS Montevina processors only validated my claim, right?
Its cool, we all make mistakes. -

i am HIGHLY doubting a 50% increase in performance here...
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
1. You sir are very rude...and frankly, that is not appreciated here.
2. The reported shipment of Montevina processors has been made by a company whose credibility is fading very quickly.
However you are correct in one thing...we all make mistakes...but you keep doing it. When are you going to learn? -
-
9800M GTX, and or 44W+ processors, call AW they probably have this planned...
stop auguring, we all have a stronger dad..
I hope I soon have the best laptop here... -
Sorry I'm a little confused...the early version of Montevina based laptops will NOT have wimax? Can we add it later or should we wait or what?
-
-
In contract law, certain provisions pertaining to the agreement may be made by explicit omission.
Let's use an employment contract, for example. Some employment contracts include sections pertaining to their expense liability to you. Such a section defines exactly what expenses they will incur during the scope of your employment. For instance, insurance coverage may be listed. The employer is not legally required to pay for unlisted expenses.
The point, in all of this, is that just because a company does not explicitly state a particular feature of a product is supported.... Does not indicate the product will be lacking said feature. -
Was that not Clevo?
-

Can you show me the box to which you refer where Clevo is making a representation that the 9800M GTX will be supported by the M860TU? -
2. You have been extremely eager to defame any company offering pre-orders for the m860tu. You have a personal monetary interest to steer prospective customers away from the competition. You have done exactly that on multiple occasions.
Quite frankly, I'd call this unprofessional conduct. This is not to say you aren't a valuable asset to the community. I simply wish you'd employ better sales techniques, in lieu of ones found on a used car lot.
Sager has confirmed with Clevo that the M860TU will not support 44W+ processors or the 9800M GTX because of the thermal budget!
