well, I agree with audigy. My X9000 runs at 3.2 (mult x16 not fsb) and I can up the fsb to 220 (to get 3520MHz) and with that I can bump the GPU up to 550/850. If I put the gpu up to 600/950 the cpu will only go up to 3365 (210fsb) and the gpu at 650/950 the cpu wont oc at all (fsb wise; its still good at 3.2GHz)
-
So audigy,
what can I OC my CPU too (T7700) and my GPU too without having this error?
Think If I OC the CPU to 2.6ghz I can still OC my GPU? -
from what it seems like no or by very little..
-
very interesting stuff over here....
say audigy... have you done one for an x9000 chip and is there anyway this tool would work for a gateway p-6860fx
thanks in advance. -
v2.1 - New installer, safer and easier to apply!
-
Try to run SetFSB.exe manually and then try some of the listed PLLs until you find one that works with your NB.
X9000/X7900 coming soon!
-
I'm getting this error:
-
-
I already thought that was the problem but wanted to be sure, thanks!
-
yeah, im getting no luck with this.... -
Is it running ok for you guys? Cause for some reason , after some reboots it OCes the CPU, after others it doesn`t....
-
at least you HAVE an over clock.
(fsb that is, but an over clock none the less) now i want one..... lol
-
2.5 from 2.2 is hardly an OC. But I figure since I never OC my GPU, since the 7950GTX doesn`t OC that well wothout a geometric delta and such, I might as well drain the life out of the CPU . Lol.
I`m not even using it like that. but I like the round figure , 2.5 -
lol.... well.... i was trying for that 3.0 to 3.2 over clock.. all for them 200 mhz and for the title that says......*hey, i did it*...lol
then revert everything back to normal and move on to the next project... internal gps on the mini pci slot.......hummmm, wonder if that is possible. -
i dont get it audigy, u say u cant OC both but you have
[email protected]@961Mhz FSB | 8700M GT GDDR3 512MB@762/1850/2000
ie. both ur cpu and gpu are oc'd... how are you acomplishing this if apparently you cant oc both because of fsb messing with it or w.e -
mmm this is cool i raid high end WoW and 2.5duel is still not enough cpu power for all my ui mods...
and waiting for a 2.5 quad is not worth it seeing as wow can only use 2cpus -
so where's the tool to OC my T9300 to 3.0Ghz ? I'm lost lol.... And to remove the OC, I just uninstall it ?
Another question, I've never OC'ed before... but Everest shows up a constant 4% OC and my CPU clock is like around 2600+Mhz ... why so ? -
Prasad you mean this? http://audigyapps.com.sapo.pt/SetFSBAutoTool_T9300_3.0.rar
if you want to go back to stock clocking, run "OC off". download it here: http://audigyapps.com.sapo.pt/SetFSBAutoTool_OCoff.rar
To your 3rd question, it is becuase CPU is always dynamic switching for power save, run orthos and you will see CPU boost up to 3.0Ghz instantly. -
Didn't version 2 and above come out? Is this the latest ? -
Audigy updated all the links
-
Okay cool!
I'll give it a try.... thanks!
-
And what about Orthos ? I googled Orthos and got confusing results...
-
Orthos is an application designed to make use of the powerful Prime95 stability testing tool on a multicore system. It will automatically determine the number of threads or cores a processor can support and launch simultaneous runs of of Prime95 to fully load all the cores of a processor.
-
-
-
-
Ok I just tried it and windows crashed so I removed it....
-
I think that's because your CPU isn't stable at your OC...
Try a smaller OC. -
Aite sure! Oh and how long should I generally run Orthos to declare the CPU to be stable ? And should I stress CPU and RAM or CPU alone ?
-
In this thread they said at least 30min-1hour.
I always did CPU and RAM. -
I see.. Thanks!
Secondly, if I'm supposed to put the OCing at startup and if it crashed my laptop, how will I ever REMOVE the OC ? I have the remove OC auto tool but I wont be able to get to it if i put this OCing to start automatically at startup! -
Your laptop will already be fully booted up, it's only when you are already in windows he does the overclock, for me it was I think after +- 5-10 secs.
-
Orthos stress test should be ran at least for 1 hour.
If the temps skyrocket(over 70-75C) and / or the test ends up with errors,BSOD or unexpected restarts, the OC is too much then. -
start testing from the lowest which is 2.6Ghz.
-
When will the T7800 & T9500 FSB tool be released?
-
Hi there!
First of all, nice work.
Second, can we expect a version that supports Gateway FX notebooks? (P-6831FX, P-6860FX, etc) It is a really popular notebook, a lot of ppl has it.
And the last thing, is it possible to OC Core2Duo T5450 CPU (1.67Ghz, 2MB L2 cache, 667MHz FSB) ? If yes, when can we expect an update? -
Aww, no love for extreme procs yet.....
-
Dude, you can OC to 3.2 , or can`t you?
-
I dont have that cooling case thing that allows for OC in the BIOS itself

So, I've been messing around with the 2.2->2.5 OC on my t7500. Stock, my temps would hang around 72-73 while running Orthos for an hour with FN+1 on full blast and my zalmon nc1000 cranked up. With the OC, I was around 79-80. That's a bit to high, I think. I should note I have the older np5790 so my base/cooling might not be as nice as some of the later models (5792/93).
So, I've read up on undervolting and have been trying a few things. I've been running Orthos for 45 minutes now (with default fans, no FN+1, though I'm still using the zalmon) and it's a pretty steady 71-72 at 2.5GhZ and 1.1875. That's pretty niceI'll probably try 1.1750 and see what happens, but even if it's not stable, 71-72 is quite doable with the OC I think.

For anyone who is interested:
Tj max for all 7 series core2's is 100C and for all 45nm cores (9 series) is 105C.
This however is the max temperature that the ACTUAL CORE transistor junctions are rated to so may possibly be higher than what is being read by the sensors.
This is from the datasheets freely available (though not necessarily so easy to find) from the intel website
Oh, and this thread is kinda relevant to any notebook owner (also really and computer owner). They just need to adjust the clock generator to one that supports thier comp. And for desktop chips they would need one written for their chips fsb setting, but that'd be simple with the source code. -
-
ok i have been messing around with setFSB again, its been a while since i used so i increased my frequency by 200mhz. Now when i play games the cpu never gets about 62c, but my GPU gets pretty hot ~89-95c. Well that is tooo hot for my liking so i set the fsb to default.
My question is why would the setfsb only make my GPU way hotter? Am i also OCing the memory in my video card as well? Is it something to do with the pci-e slot? Im lost here...hmm. COuld it be that they are in that same thermal enveloped area? -
They are pretty much independant temperature wise... At least for me, when CPU is at 70ish C during stress test then the GPU is still at around 38-40C, which is just a little over idle.
Im not OCing FSB though, so can only be sure that proximity heat is not the problem. -
-
erm dude. do you have something for t7200?
thanks
-
Hi there,
my question is, have anyone a bios on his m570ru which allows oc-functions?
The original bios sucks(i have the 1.00.08), there is nearly niothing to configure. I wish i could set the cpu voltage or the ram timings, but nothing.
If i oc my t9300 to 3Ghz i get a bsod. I think this is caused by the low cpu voltage. The cooling is definitly not the problem, in game i have 63°C on both cores. ^^ -
there isnt anything to do Via BIOS for lappies, and dude, if you are undervolting with such OC, then this might be the thing causing you BSODs
>>> SetFSB Auto Tool v1.0 <<< - OC your CPU automatically -
