Later today I will dig on that... worst possibility tomorow...![]()
I´m trying to fix the path problem between the installer and the .exe...
Now in version 2.1 you need to have the SetFSB folder in C:\, like C:\SetFSB\
Sry for that, I´m working on it...
![]()
The problem here is that you can not OC both to their max, so the only possibilities are OCing only one and keep the other stock, or achieving the middle term between them.
The SetFSB can not control the PCI-E/PCI bus on locked systems, so even if SetFSB says that it´s at 99.0Mhz, it´s not. The PCI-E/PCI freqs will rise accordingly with the FSB.
So what only matters here is how much OC you can do until the wave switchings stop occuring.

Thanks Audigy!
-
Oh, I didn't know this and obviously we are a "locked system", or not?
So do you know where exactly is located this chip to eventually hard mod??
And why when I move the second switch I have probelms like slowing down (left) and instability (right)?
I used only crysis and 3dmark vantage because 3dmark is old and cpu bound however the score is around 11200 -
I don´t know here is located, I don´t have start locking for it yet...
Now I´m trying to know if is an XNOR, AND, NOT, NAND type switching... or via multiplexers, flip flops.
This is not a simple thing, it requires a lot of studying on it.
If it´s an 74LS IC series, it will look something like this:
-
God, I still have problems grasping what your saying but googling helps
-
Boas(hi) Audigiy
Im using SetFsb on my destock i was wondering if its possible to boot already with the desired frequency like this program but for destock -
@Audigy Thanks, you're great.. we put our hopes on you so.. good job
-
When/if I do get the right one, I'm assuming it will populate the Current / Select fields? I went through all of them and I get this:
On pretty much all of them, except the ones near the bottom that give me a PLL ID error. Thoughts? -
When you`ll get the right one, you won`t get UNKNOWN under the Set Fsb tab
You can do the trial and error if you have the patience, or open up the laptop and check the mobo... -
Well, I tried them all and none of them gave me anything but unknown, so it would appear that this system's PLL ID is not in SetFSB.
-
Hmm, all of them? That`s odd. In that case, I`d consider opening the laptop and checking what PLL the mobo has.
Maybe Audigy has a better idea. -
-
Well, if they give you a PLL not in the list,I am out of sugestions...Make sure you are using the latest SetFsb (check for updates) since not all boards are supported...
-
Wow finally got to try this. Works great!
I used the T9300@3GHz and my 3dmark06 score went from ~9100 to over 10k!
My temps never got all that high as well. Played Crysis for about an hour to see if there were any issues and I had none!
I am actually not using it at start up since I do not need the OC when checking email or surfing the internet. So I just use the auto script as an on and off script. -
As long as you keep your CPU temps below 70C you`re ok,since it`s AS5-ed by default.
-
Yeah i have mine undervolted and overclocked to 2.3ghz (the most stable for me), and my cpu temps havent went been above 55c during gaming or encoding.
-
-
Well, considering you have "sort of" the fastest "stock" dual core CPU...it`s not too shabby
-
I am still learning on the laptop side of things. I was used to being able to have a bit more control over the cooling in my desktop systems, Seeing 60C on anything would never happen then, so this is a bit new for me.
I probably will not OC it too often unless I am playing a game or doing something that needs a little extra. Most games I have tested with have no problem at stock speeds. -
Is frequent to see GPUs that can archieve almost 100ºC and still work without throttling and with minimal losses in the components live.
Of course it´s not good, but this CPUs are prepared for that conditions, they are not like desktop ones, the silicon used one them can hold more heat than normal.
Thats why mobile CPUs are more expensive than desktop ones... one E8500 can hold until 72.4°C, pass that the thermal monitor systems will kick in and will start throttling the core to reduce the heat. On the mobile side, one T9300 can hold until 105ºC, pass that the thermal monitor systems will kick in like desktop´s ones.

Very good to know Audigy! Thanks! +1
-
Yep, Audigy`s right.
http://processorfinder.intel.com/Details.aspx?sSpec=SLAQG for the T9300 and http://processorfinder.intel.com/Details.aspx?sSpec=SLAPL for the E8400.
Scary to see that the quads can safely go only upto 71.4 C ...
My older T2300 hit 83C pretty often -
Audigy, are the links in the first post updated with your latest versions? Thanks.
-
-
Yes they are. Running nicely at 2.5
-
hey, can anyone recommend a 'safe' clock for a T9300... the deafult is @ 2.5Ghz..
i know that there's a 3.2Ghz setting there.
but i don't want it to be too hot as i will probably want to use this notebook for a very very long time...
thx.. -
a 'safe' clock is 2.5GHz, hence why it's the stock. However you could probably add 2-300MHz without any problems
-
@koflok I run a T9300 at 3.0Ghz undervolted to 1.1 with max of 71° when I OC only CPU. With OC GPU I use 2852mhz very safely...
-
Any news about the IC chip???
-
up
Audigy,any news?
-
I tried to read through all of this but i only got to page 15.
I have a 9300 2.5 ghz processor that I wanted to overclock, but even though I followed the steps, I get an error saying failed during run.
What do I do? -
We extreme proc users are having heart attaacks seeing that T9300's are scoring higher than us.....
-
@newman180 wich is exactly your error? Have you putted the program in C:\SetFSB ? -
my error is exactly as I described. I try running it and using it as start up and it comes up with a message failed during run.
Someone on the 2nd or 3rd page posted a picture of it happening to them but they resolved the issue. Unfortunatly he didnt have a 9300 though.
And I did install it in c:/setfsb -
Is the setfsb.exe located like C:\SetFSB\setfsb.exe or C:\SetFSB\SetFSB\setfsb.exe?
I only ask because if you set it to C:\SetFSB\ during the extraction it will be the second and that will not work! -
The program runs and it looks like im able to change fsb values. I just want to be able to do it with the preset ones. -
Yeah just was throwing that out there. Have tried launching it as "Run as Administrator"? If you are running Vista.
-
Thanks for your response man.
It seems like it worked but my computer crashed and went to the blue screen / dump.
I tried it with the 2.8 ghz setting.
Any guidance if i did something wrong would be great -
Interesting. I am running with the T9300 as well and I am running the 3GHz setting with no problems. Generally the weak link on doing this is the memory. Since you are essentially bumping them up as well, if you have questionable modules it could easily cause crashes.
-
I installed the 2.6 and it seemed like it worked although when I go into system it still says 2.5... When I do the performance test by vista it goes up a point to 5.5 from 5.4 and ram goes up .1 also.
Assuming that it is working, I have to add it to my startup directory, but how do I get it to run ? Since the only way I got it to run was to say run by administrator?
Thanks alot! -
It worked. I rebooted and it automatically loaded it. Something popped up in the bottom corner saying its oced to 2.6 but system still says its 2.5
Do I assume that its still workign?
Thanks alot -
Vista will still report it as 2.5 in it's report. If you look at SetFSB it should show the true speed.
-
Here is my Vista score after going to 3GHz...

I think DXDIAG will show the OC?
Wont it show like 2.4 then it shows in parenthesis the actual speed so its like
2.4ghz (~2.6ghz)
or something like that? -
Mine actually still lists 2.5 in DXDiag but in SetFSB it reads as 3.09 GHz. Also as shown above in my Vista score it is definitely working!
-
Ive only got a vista score of 5 right meow but hopefully when I oc the gpu more it will go up!
THanks again! -
You guys seem knowledgeable, and I know this isnt exactly on topic, but im having trouble ocing my gpu. its a 9500m gs. I used to use coolbits on my other computers but it doesnt work on vista.
Im using riva tuner and it allows me to change the settings and all. I click save and tell it to apply the settings to boot, but when i reboot and go back into rivatuner to look at the setting it resets itself to the original clocks.
What am I doing wrong? Or is it the same as the processor and it actually is oc'd but it doesnt say it is -
never mind I got it to work finally!
-
interesting, might want to try this on my T7300, maybe bump it up to 2.2ghz. I just hope i don't fry anything. If this was a desktop, i'd OC in a heartbeat!
-
Has anyone tried OC'ing the T9500 CPU yet? I'm interested to see how far this can go, I've already managed to get 5671 marks overclocking the 8600M GT on the XPS M1530 with stock T9500.
>>> SetFSB Auto Tool v1.0 <<< - OC your CPU automatically -
