Better yet: hire a ninja and a camera crew to track himThat way, you'll have something cool to watch when you get it.
Well then, better go bag it before someone else gets the same idea.

They also seem to charge $50 for UPS Ground shipping... while Xotic only charges $28 o.o

Things are looking better though. With an approximate delivery ETA of Monday 5/21 @ 1300 hours, I've got 42 hours and 25 minutes to go as I type this. That's less than two entire days, by gosh! In keeping with my prior post's computations, that's *now* 2,543 minutes. Or 152,580 seconds - and counting! Boy, time flies when you're exhaustively fidgeting and jiggling your legs whilst staring at a clock with bloodshot eyes counting down seconds and minutes and hours waiting until your body gives and you pass out from nervous exhaustion! Does it ever! -
OFFTOPIC: Bought Darksiders 2 yet? -
That is just sad... After all the few $$ you try to save from all these discounts spending 50$ on ground UPS is just sad...
I was so pissed when they delayed DS II to August...

Your making a science out of thisYou have a countdown timer going next to your bed?
Hopefully you have some of your favorite energy drink ready for when it arrives, sounds like you are going to get little sleep after UPS departs from your home -

Mine says it is in phase two, and from their description sounds like 5-10 days of processing time. So I should see it the week after next, or the week after that. That is withing the delivery time I need so life is good.
Waiting for new toys is never fun but what are you going to do? -

imply =/= will do

Malibal promised me free shipping for being a NBR member 2 weeks ago and 1 week earlier when I was trying to price match the same with Xoticpc they confirmed me that Malibal is no longer offering any discounts for NBR members. A lot seems to have changed in 1 week I suppose.
-
Curs3, I looked up your email history... we never took back any offer that we gave you. Are you saying that another company told you that you could no longer get the deal that we offered you?
-
That makes no sense Curs3.. none at all lol -
I dint want to go back and ask them as I had decided to go with another company already for my own reasons. But this does not change the fact that this is what I was told. I did not find it necessary to confirm it as I had decided to buy it from some one else. I saw a post in here of some one telling that Malibal supposedly had not informed him of a possible discount i.e the 50$ discount on joining their forums and making 5 meaningful posts. Hence I decided to share my experience here. Since I did not contact Malibal for the past 2 weeks I am not aware of the current developments but that does not mean I cannot share my experience.
No where in my post have I said I am sure of what I am saying. I am just saying this is what happened. Hence the word "SUPPOSE" at the end. -
However, if you did a casual check on pricing w/ out at least asking for a quote, then there's nothing to talk about, as things change - pricing on components, shipping, policies, etc.
In regards to Malibal's policies, if they no longer want to offer anything to NBR customers, and take preference with user's on their forum, it's their company, and their right. If this *is* true (a big if), I think they may want to reconsider this policy change due to the chance of attracting customers regardless of "vendor affiliation" , but things like this change daily.
{EDIT}I just saw your response. There's no confirmation from Malibal on this, only rumor and speculation and thus hearsay. A verification would've been nice, but oh, well. For anyone still in the market to buy, ask your sales rep (from any reseller) about any discounts / promotions and get an official quote.{/EDIT} -

quick edit:
And my post wasn't about this anyway. My original point was expressing my displeasure with the way he criticized Malibal -
I did get a quote from Malibal with the final discounted price. But the free shipping was not included in the quote though it was promised to me. I am not here to complain. I am just here to share what happened. And also I never confirmed it from them directly whether the same would hold after a 2 week period. I got a quote from Malibal with their discounts. Could not get back to them immediately as I was busy. Was also following up with other resellers meanwhile. At last decided to go with Xoticpc who when I tried to price match with the quote from Malibal said the free shipping was no longer given to NBR members by Malibal. I did not want to argue or cross verify. I did not get back to Malibal as I had chosen to buy from some one else and hence did not want to go back and verify for 30-40$ difference.
The reason I shared this was bcoz it might help some body else. Some one trying to reduce every $$ and get the laptop into their proposed budget. I am not even sure if it is true that Malibal is not offering the same now. Bcoz it does not matter to me. But somebody else reading this post can get to know that such things can happen and be more aware. It is up to the person who reads it. Some might take it as a lesson to order immediately after you get a quote. Some might realise that one must get everything in written to be sure always. Some might realise that it is best to talk to all the resellers before they order. One can understand this any way he wants. My point was to share what happened. I have no complaints against any one here. And my decision to go with Xoticpc was a personal choice. It had noting to do with this. I chose Xoticpc for my own reasons that I do not wish to share here. -
-
And when and how did I criticize Malibal? By saying that they might have supposedly removed the free shipping for NBR members? Well if that sounded like I criticized Malibal to Malibal themselves, then I shall apologise to them. But my intention was never that.
-
-
@Curs3, dude don't multi-post! Just edit your posts...
-
For those of you whose laptops have shipped already, how many days was it in production before it shipped? Mine is going into production on Monday, and I should have it on Friday if it ships on Wednesday. Otherwise, the earliest I'll have it is Tuesday the 29th.

nobody cares about what you have to say because for some reason you attack me for saying "either way im sticking with xotic pc"
whatever, not like any of this bull even matters -
Why can't someone post about a deal they got from a reseller all of a sudden without (paraphrase) "Oh gee wizz, free shipping, I'll just stick with my reseller!"
Please... -
how in hell was i belittling their efforts with a small surprised comment that you just seem to be so annoyed by that you have to be (paraphrase) "Holy jesus christ man, no one told you to cancel your order with Xotic PC!"
i didnt even consider it myself a hastily post a highly intelligent post. but apparently for you, every single damn post must be highly sophisticated and bundled with honest opinions and intellectual discussion.
although I must say, that posted which you paraphrased wasn't one of the best I've made though. Can't see how it would hurt anything, just a silly remark meant to be buried in a swarm of posts. I don't understand why you would take such a small post so seriously either. It wasn't a serious post.
I do apologize if i acted a little rashly, I'm tired and I'm irritated by severe allergies. Phooey. -

Sh*t just got real
-
bn880 has shown his true colors as a Malibal fanboy - which is fine, but he is now attacking people that did not even try to start anything - i.e. awakeN.
-
-
I have a right to defend myself. If you look back I didn't do anything wrong. So yes, I'm being defensive. Thanks.
Also "bn880 a fanboy", you don't know how wrong that isHowever I don't like to watch unprovoked attacks on MALIBAL no... so I confess that I'm astonished that so many people here are acting like little kids just because one reseller told them what's what.
Edit 2: Note that the insecurity was actually on awakeN part, as soon as people had something positive to say about MALIBAL he was making fun of them. That's a passive aggressive attack due to insecurity. He just didn't expect someone to defend themselves or MALIBAL. Tough luck, I'm not going to have people walking all over me on a laptop review forum. -
How is illuminating customer service issues to the NBR family a waste of time? Don't you think potential consumers should know what they're possibly getting in to? Do you think suppressing information is of greater benefit than factually outlining what's transpired? Who cares if Malibal comes back or not? They chose to leave on their own accord! We shouldn't remain silent in order to placate them and hope they grace us with their presence!
It's difficult to have a discussion when the other party involved keeps deflecting the issues. -

Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
I don't want to flame anyone but are we realizing that a whole page has been wasted for this kind of worthless things?
I'm here to look for/know about the thread subject, not to see people's arguing and flaming each other.
Please respect other users and take your problems elsewhere, maybe in private form.
Also this isn't a reseller feedback thread.
I hope to not get anyone angry because I'm just stating my opinion with total respect for everyone.
Thanks. -
Ok, I'm stopping now. I agree this is ruining this thread and I apologize for my part in that.
-
Fact: Malibal said their account is "inactive." They remain somewhat active. Inactive does not mean "almost don't post."
To me, and I'm sure to others, this is a huge issue. I shouldn't have to explain why. You, for some reason, think this needs to be disregarded. And explain to me how this isn't bringing pertinent information to light?
Also, they left on their own accord after THEY PERSONALLY ATTACKED NBR POSTERS. You're saying "constantly attacking the reseller means they will not be active here and that's a parasitic action." when they're the ones that attacked someone and they're the ones that left on their own free will! THEY CHOSE TO DO THIS, THEY WERE NOT FORCED OUT OF HERE.
Edit: Kingpinzero, you're completely correct. I dropped the issue pages back, but it really got to me that awakeN was chewed out when he didn't even make an inflammatory post. -
Just to keep you guys updated, my Sager NP9170 is officially out for delivery! Hip! Hip! HOORAYYYYY!
To keep up with tradition, staying with an approximate ETA of 1300 hours today (really it could be off by a few hours in either direction for all I know in actuality)I currently have a scan 4 hours and 35 minutes to wait as I make this post! That's just a miniscule 275 minutes! Or a microcosmic 16,500 seconds! Blink of an eye!
I will say that I had trouble getting a good night's sleep last night. Admittedly though it didn't have much to do with the laptop coming, but it ironically has me a little worried that, horror of horrors, I might somehow be fast asleep when Mr. UPS makes his appearance. I just hope he can find my doorbell, or that I'll still be wide awake. My current plan: lots of coffee. Starbucks doubleshot energy drinks, to be specific. my current favorite caffeine delivery system at the moment. -
please do a benchmark when you get it
-
anyone who order from mythologic have any updates? i don't want to constantly feel like i'm looking over their shoulder and harping them for updates, if someone else already has some information to share.
-
Also, about the launch specials... we never advertised an expiration date. You PM'd us and asked how long they will last, and we didn't have any set time but I think we said they should last at least another week. Unfortunately, I deleted all of my PM's when we stopped posting on a daily basis, so I cannot see the entire exchange.
However, I remember that even after we took the deals off of our site, we still gave you the opportunity to get them, so you could have - if you really wanted to. -

Regarding your deals, you originally stated they would be good for at least a week. When I called you out on it, you gave me a whopping day (hours, really, considering the time of day) instead of a week. I could have jumped and tried to rush my order, but that's not what I was originally advised. I shouldn't have been backed into a corner because I specifically addressed the time frame of your offers and received incorrect information in my response.
Again, I'm not seeing how you didn't say one thing and do another in those two scenarios.
Just to clarify, I don't have a problem with you posting here. I do, however, find your statements to be disingenuous due to you saying one thing and doing another.
