Update on Radeon 7970m (Sager/Resellers)

A bit of both but mostly plot/story. Dialogue on the main story is good, and most of the main NPCs is good.

It is weak on the side quests and fluff, but cost is a big factor here, so it is understandable.

Yes it will--for me usually within a half hour of the failed delivery.

 

awakeN with UPS and FedEx the tracking usually tells me when a delivery attempt fails. And if I were waiting for a computer and my delivery failed, I'd be off to the UPS/FedEx facilities immediately to pick up my package!

k good that means it didn't arrive when i was away I'm really looking forward to writing up a full review of the P150EM... that is, once I get it. Anticipating receiving it at around 4 PM... everything seems to just come at 4 PM for me lol

 

Lucky... I'm dead last on my UPS guy's run, I get things between 530-6pm local

I've placed my order and already paid for it at mysn.de and now they tell me I have to wait until mid june for the new batch to arrive . i'ts so painful to see my new Diablo 3 case laying on my desk and have to wait so long to play it.

I get mine shipped for holding at a UPS customer center (or whatever it's called). I do it for security and the fact that I can't sign for it at my apartment due to work.

But, one side benefit is that I can get it much earlier in the day. My UPS guy comes around 6PM usually. If it's shipped for holding directly to the UPS center, I can get pick up at 8AM that day if I wanted to. That's almost an extra day right there!

Who am I supposed to understand what these things are when I have the rest of the computer parts listed. I guess I could just rule out what is already listed and then try to figure how it could relate to the Queen English, which roots are also German. Maybe I should just google it? Nah, let's post it in a multi-quote post lamenting the fact that it slipped into the copy paste of his computer specs!

ALSO: Waiting hours is unfair My Swedish reseller had 12th June as a date BEFORE all this 7970M trouble :/

 

omg... backlit keyboard is quite the sexy. Never owned a laptop with a backlit keyboard or 1080p display... although it does hurt my eyes.

 

But how do you get to use it if you are at work, presumably until 5 pm?

Not sure if this is new but I just got off the phone from Xotic about the 7970m's and their arrival time. He said they're planned to be delivered on June 11th, then they'll finally start assembling the laptops in order. I don't remember how long he said it'd take to assemble but I'm guessing around 4-8 days and then shipping on top of that. Thankfully I've got 3-day shipping! Soooo I'm guessing the latest I'll get my Sager is June 21st...

 

Sadly i have yet to order my laptop yet , but this weekend is when I'm going to order it. A good thing about the shipping is that I am a good 3 hours away from Xoticpc

 

So I ordered on the 16th of May and moved to phase 2 May 21st. From reading this thread, I see that phase 2 doesn't necessarily mean they are building my computer RIGHT NOW, it's just in the queue. However, I never received any email from Xotic PC concerning the 7970M delays which they have been sending out.
Are all of the computers with the first batch already shipped, meaning that I should assume that I'm going to have to wait? I'm ok with waiting, I just want to know. Not knowing is so hard...

Been a long time lurker, but just wanted to chime in for those that are in Australia. I just received the following update from LBO:

Dear SlaughteredLamb,

Unfortunately there has been a delay on your order.

This is caused by the ATI 7970m cards as there was some issues with the first batch.

It isn't clear what the exact issue is, but we strive to have a high Quality Assurance on our laptops, so we take matters like this seriously.

The new ETA is June 14th, and Clevo have said they have solved the issue and they will be ready to ship approx this date.

If you have any questions, please let us know and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Is that so? Well then... To avoid making a useless post- has anybody seen/posted 7970M benchmarks on a Clevo w/ Enduro? I've seen ones from an Alienware but I don't think I've seen any from a Clevo.

They're pretty similar to the M17x when it has Enduro turned off, maybe slightly higher.

Schenker never had the 7970M in stock, only a sample for building a system they sent to review-sites! i guess i was like the first person to order it as I told them on Facebook this card even exists
so with the clevo issues i guess we won't see our babys for another 2 weeks

It's just a bit disappointing. I had hope to have this in time to take it with me to E3 but as long as i get it before I leave for Japan in July I guess I'm good. and Before MWO Launches....

Sounds like a great deal. As for the 7970M no bug comment, I think Hawkforce refers to the fact that you will get 7970Ms as soon as the current problems have been solved, though I have no doubt you are on express delivery. Currently there are no 7970M in Europe.

Well dhu6719, that depends. I assume that you got a 7970M graphics card or you wouldn't be posting in this thread? If that's the case, then you are probably at the end of the line, meaning that you won't get it until late June at the absolute earliest, since they won't start shipping the orders they already had queued up until mid-June.

 

That depends on what your ordered it with.

You may want to check with your reseller to get an ETA on it though. I don't think anyone but your reseller would have the answer for you.

About a week and a half roughly.
That's not too bad of a wait really.

 

It is, when you're on a tight deadline.

 

Considering the delay people have had already and the high chance of further delays that's not the real issue really....
