Mine should be here Monday! Only 44 days after ordering!!!

The status of mine changed to "Ready to Ship" this morning, so hopefully I get a tracking number today.

Got mine today! 6 work days days after they got my money'

Mine just shipped yesterday. Sadly XoticPC never bothered to send a notice. I only found out by stalking my order status page. Though since the order shipping from California I suspect it came directly from Sager and XoticPC never touched anything other than the check I sent them. It was probably a break down in the communication between the two companies. Total billed time seems to be about a 6-7 business days for minimally modified stock system.

^ Anytime a order status is updated with a tracking # it auto generates a email with the information. Maybe the email went to your junk email?

Mine just went into phase 2 today. Ordered Sunday night.

So if I were to order a 9170 with a 7970M today, when would it be likely to ship? I ask because I'd really like to get my hands on one of these beasts, but I leave town in 2.5 weeks and won't be back until the beginning of August. Would there be any chance of getting the computer before I leave, or should I wait until I get back?
-
Getting my laptop today! Was supposed to receive it Monday but I was at work and no one at the house answered the doorbell. So after an extended wait it is finally here. I can safely say I've been thinking about a sager since June of last year so it will be satisfying to finally get my hands on one.

How long does it take for Xotic to receive orders sent to them to avoid CA tax? Mine was shipped the 23rd to Nebraska.

Sylvia arrived yesterday
I installed Win7 and all the included drivers, then 3dmark 11. I only have the basic version, so (drumroll):
Performance 1280x720 score: 5882
The wait was worth it, this moment is so deliciously sweet
Goodbye thread! -

When we ship to California customers it takes 2 business days to get from Sager to us, then either 1 or 2 business days back depending on where you are in California. Total is either 3 or 4 business days.
-
Anybody moved to phase 2 today or last weekend?
I ordered mine on 06/06 from xotic. But it is still in phase 1. -
Mine finally shipped
-
What config do you have? If you got the Killer WiFi card I think there was some back order. Other than that I do not know. -
Just got my 17.3" Sager 9170, AMD 7970M, i7-3920XM Extreme Edition last week from XoticPC. Within 10 minutes of turning it on, just doing normal things like browsing and downloading files, it hanged. Rebooted, 30 min later hanged doing similar simple things. Then it just finally failed to boot at all doing a continuous power on/off every 2 seconds with no splash screen.
I'm really really pissed. XoticPC was good at order fulfillment and were quick to issue me an RMA, but it's obvious these guys do zero QA before shipping out their systems. Can anybody recommend a company that does their damnedness to make sure they ship you a functioning machine? Price isn't an issue for me, I just want a best-of-breed gaming laptop that works at least a year from when I open the box... -
-
Does xoticpc even do a QA when laptops go through phase 3?

Sager probably has the most sophisticated Q.C. process of anyone.
It is just that sometimes, regardless of what brand you buy, or from what reseller, things can go wrong. Sometimes caused by shipping, sometimes caused by electronics failure regardless of how much testing and burn-in that was done at the factory.
99+% of the time, when Sager builds them...they stay built! -
As far as I know, Sager does stress test your machine for some time before they send it to be shipped. It just sounds like you have defective electronics somewhere that wasn't caught.
-
Finally, you go on Sager's website. You get two sentences how they do 96 hours of testing. Mythlogic has a bit more descriptive process. Maybe Sager does the exact testing, I don't know... -
@drnube
Having worked as a Field Service engineer in a past life I can say that no matter how much testing and burn in process there is, there will always be some that slip through. Sager the largest Clevo importer in North America and ships a ton of Clevo based system. There are going to be some that get through the process. Many times it happens because of shipping. A little rattle can take a component that was passing, but just a hair off from breaking and make it fail.
However saying that, Mythlogic has a great reputation as well for putting out quality. I am on my third Clevo based system and second through XoticPC / Sager. Been pretty happy so far. -

Fyi...finally got mine and it works perfectly.

Finally got my shipping notice. Took a week to get from Sagar to Xotic, and now it's another week to get it from Xotic to me...predicted delivery is next Tuesday.
Just over ten weeks from my original order. -

How funny is this? Xotic didnt respond to your emails until you posted on the forum and Justin made a comment... and all of a sudden *poof*!Seems to be a common trend.

Quote: from Justin@XoticPC:
I am glad you received a update. If you can send me your order # via email I would still like to look at the emails as it is extremely odd that a email is not responded to and very important that no email gets missed. If some sort of filter is blocking it we want to know so it can be addressed. End quote.
This is the response after the above quoted post. It would seem that Jpech58 ordered his laptop under his NBR screen name from Xotic (if you believe Bugout, because how else would Justin have a clue who JP is?). But after reading the original thread Bugout quoted from, JP never came back to say Justin had ever been contacted in the 5 minutes from his post to saying he had gotten his notice. Bugout, what is your deal??? Why is every post I have seen from you attacking Xotic? Put it to rest, or ask HP for a raise, because you need new material.
As for common thread, please link. No links, didn't happen. And no, I didn't buy from any reseller. I just don't like to see what appears to be bashing of a company with good rep by what appears to be a troll. -

I ordered my NP9170 w/ 7970 and a few other odds and ends upgrades from Powernotebooks on 6/30 and got my notification that it was shipped on 7/6 and will be here on 7/12. Excellent customer support from them and shipment has been made much quicker than I expected especially considering the Holiday in between the week.

I love this thing! Well worth the wait. Thanks xotic/sager.

I received my NP9170 on Wednesday from XoticPC. This machine absolutely flies! The 7970 hasn't had any problems whatsoever, the configurable graphics and having to select which graphics card is used for each program you open is kind of annoying though.
Nearly a two month wait for me (ordered May 14). Sorry to hear Anthony2816 has to send his back in.
