Update on Radeon 7970m (Sager/Resellers)

yah just hang tight if you got that notice, we're saying 24-72hrs to process as there were a ot of pre orders, we're working through them as quickly as we can If you got that email you'll be getting one from this batch.

Yeah, I know Actually if they keep shipping out 7970M's at this rate, I'm practically guaranteed my laptop before Memorial Day (that is, if UPS will still ship on the 26th...)

 

Hmm, I didn't get the e-mail that was quoted earlier by Kotyow but I did get an e-mail yesterday that said the following:

"Incoming shipments of your selected GPU have been confirmed. Your order is being sent to production. If you have any order changes or questions, please contact Xotic PC at 1-800-380-6187. Production times are currently estimated at 3-10 business days. "

Sort of hoping this means my order has already been processed and is already in production, but I'm really not sure. I know that I'm in this first allocation, though, so I'm just gonna rest easy, regardless. It's nice to know that tracking numbers won't be sent till the following day, in a way, because then I can go to bed tonight with vague hopes that maybe my order has already shipped out O_O

I will say this, I actually kind of enjoy this level of anticipation. It's like not knowing when Christmas morning will arrive, but knowing that it *could* arrive at any day in the near future. That's fun! It's rare that I, as a fairly cynical adult, ever get to feel this excited about *anything* xD

 

Is your laptop in Phase 2? When did you order :O

 

Sitting in phase 2 still ....has anyone here actually had their 7970m shipped/gotten a tracking number??

 

I'm in phase 2, and I ordered on April 30th... But it was odd, I had gotten moved to phase 2 before on like May 6th or 7th or something (I think by accident) and then moved back to phase 1 like a couple days later, then I was back in phase 2 yesterday. Also, I really needed a laptop by the end of next week and was literally about to cancel my order and get an M17x on the exact day when these finally came in (I'm certainly glad I didn't do this, especially now!) and was talking/complaining to a sales associate about this. So I don't know if that helped me get bumped up a bit or not. It might not have done anything at all, really, since I ordered on April 30th I think I would have been in the first allocation anyway.

 

I still wait in phase two. I hope it doesn't take long time to production and shipment

There are ample staff on to get through orders but as you can surely understand there are *many* people that have been waiting for this GPU. Most orders should be shipped out next week.

Odd, I ordered on April 29th and I'm still on Phase 1. I guess they don't do it in order.

 

I ordered and paid on the 29th and my order still just says "processed" so far its been a media blackout on anything 7970m related.

 

Oh yeah! I was really lost trying to figure out what to buy, and even after I was "decided", I was still wondering about some stuff. He answered all my e-mails with millions of questions, all really fast and with good answers.

My order is went in phase 2 today

Well, some of it could also have to do with how payments are processed - I sent mine via wire transfer and it got confirmed fairly quickly.

 

So if we received this email and we're still in phase 1, we're still in processing and our laptop hasn't started being built yet?

ehhh i dunno. at least im in the first shipment and hopefully expecting to have the p150em in my hands before the 26th.

 

With the large amount of laptops being built right now, you can only assume that the large majority of the builds with the 7970 haven't even entered production, but if you received that email, then you can expect it to start production very soon because you are among the first batch of 7970s.

Given that, my assumption is that only the blandest of 9150s/9170s have actually been shipped.

Also, Hutsady told me that I'm as far as I can be in my order right now. I'm under the impression that, after you receive that email, your build may be in production, but Xotic may not have processed it yet because of how much processing they're actually having to do right now.

Just rest assured that if you received that email, you are among the first batch of 7970s, which is good news in and of itself.

You shouldn't have to wait too long. We can usually ship within about 5-7 business days of receipt of your good funds, but if you need expedited production, please let us know and we will attempt to accommodate your needs.

 

Odd, my order took all of 20 minutes to process and I placed it on the 29th.

 

My order's payment has been processed. Xotic processed my payment a day or two after I placed the order. I was referring to processing that the build was in production. Mine is "pending arrival of parts", but I was saying that I believe Sager is just rapidly building laptops with the 7970 in it right now, and Xotic may not have processed the phase change yet.

 

Has anyone that ordered Mallibal heard anything?

 

Nothing much yet. Ordered 675M on Apr 29th (payment processed). Converted to 7970M on May 8th. Haven't been bugging anyone though to see where I am in the queue. I assume they have not gotten the shipment yet for some reason.

 

Probably in the same boat as Mythlogic...since they're both Clevo builders.

Many Sager Customers have shipped, we started shipping them out Wednesday and have been going regularly since. Shipping will continue next week as orders are completed.

YATTTAAAA~ My order has shipped! Shipped last night, in fact. I literally just checked my e-mail for the first time today and I had received the long-awaited e-mail containing my tracking number a mere 4 minutes ago. Since I've got some sexy 2-day shipping, that means it'll arrive on Monday. It's going to be a long weekend by man oh man am I *happy* ^_____^

Thank you soooo~ much xoticpc for going above and beyond my expectations with getting this out so soon, and I can't tell you how excited and pleased I am. I hope all my fellows in this thread also receive good news in the coming days (if not today!).

As I said before, I love this kind of anticipation. I think a killer new gaming laptop is the only thing that can bring this sort of childish sense of glee out in me when it comes to materialistic possessions. I don't know how I'll get any sleep on Sunday night - I'm going to feel like some 8-year-old excited like crazy on Christmas Eve.

Anyway, thank you again xoticpc - particularly to my rep Michael for putting up with my childish complaining with admirable maturity and grace, and Justin for double-checking my account from here and assuring me that I was in the first allocation batch. Y'all have made my day :3

I received the confirmation call today, told them everything was correct, and they sent my build into production... The anticipation is already killing me! Haha
