I would not worry....it will not be used on battery very often to need charging anyways lol
(or am I completely ignorant and you are referring to powered USB?)

There's not much hope on OC'ing the x7200 (the GPU's), is it?

    sure there is

GPUs are the easy one to OC lol - either software or vbios flashing

It is the CPU that has pretty much no hope (NO mention of ANY OC stuff in bios in user manual)

maybe that's because the cpu being used is not an extreme version and the manual is more for the normal users

If it is in the BIOS, it will be in the manual. It would just say, "does not apply to non extreme processors".

    Great CPU over clocking for a notebook ( about +7.5%) :) :D

    +rep Justin

Also, when will you start offering on your site?

It seems that these are Sager tests as they were done about 4 days ago ( 9/9/2010) :)

So XTU is doing bclk adjustment, will it also do voltage and multiplier? And for non-extreme cpus?

Edit: looks like you are altering the voltage as well, nice

It should be up tonight or tomorrow. :) :)

EDIT: Nobody notice that this is not a XE CPU? :D :D

XE Processors just open up an extra core multiplier while non XE you can play with settings not related to the active core multipliers.

    ummm, ok. forget auto tune.
can you manipulate all the sliders manually?
and if 7.5 percent is slightly over...then what the hell is aggressively over specification???
and how high can the voltage go up?
how low can the memory be dropped to?
can you control all 4 cores?

yes jason..i have quite a few questions about cpu over clocking....lol

I noticed is wasnt an extreme cpu, fantastic stuff!

Justin, this is the kind of pics we need, thanks man!

If I could get a 980x to 4ghz on this baby I'd be very happy, lets see some agressive overclocking results please!

You can already do 4 GHz on the D900f, the issue is cooling it and voltage

Wow, was the 4ghz done with a 45nm cpu? Any 980x oc results anywhere for the D900f?

They say cooling is better on the x7200, coupled with a 32nm cpu, heat issues may not be too bad, I live in hope

Gophn was able to take a 965x upto 4GHz but it was unstable. He used EVGA El-LEET tool I believe. It is in the Clevo section

I guess I am just spoiled but anything less than about 20-30% overclocking ability does not really excite me much for a laptop

ok, for the record..pretty much all extreme desktop cpus are cooler than the non extreme versions.
and you can damn near do 4 ghz without adding voltage (1.250 or close to it)
if the notebook is running in balanced mode..then heat is far less of a problem that running in high performance mode 24/7. balanced is pretty damn good from all the benching i have done using balanced mode.

now the 480's...might be a whole different matter...lol

The big question, a very good reseller told me that Clevo told them the hdmi in is standard, for some strange reason clevo describe it as an optional extra, hope its true, hdmi in is a great option! Come on Justin, we need more from you

Yes the sliders and drop downs can be adjusted, minus the active core multipliers on non-extreme.

    Unfortunately no.

That's rather disappointing there's no HDMI-In option. I wonder if there's a viable ExpressCard HDMI-In tuner or something of the sort? Oh well.

If you have a Core i7 980X around, I'd love to see some tweaking in the XTU with it on the X7200.

Probably a little silly question but since it's new, I have to ask: Is the keyboard back-lit? Or is it just the LED status lights across the top of it?

Thanks for the answer! I've mostly been an ASUS and MSI guy for the past decade, but really starting to check out these Clevo notebooks for the first time.

Been waiting to see what this one can do. It really looks impressive. I liked the X8100, but I thought the 18" form-factor was just a bit too large.

Also, I feel it's about time I got my hands "dirty" in customizing my own Clevo, instead of just making the upgrades over time. Might be fun!
