everyone knows you cant readily over clock clevos. thats what the search function tell us.
you are wrong about the d900f, because an extreme cpu can be over clocked in it. gophn already proved this.
and as for advertising..you were not fooled...you just assume that it was possible. and for the d901c they never said you could over clock an extreme. and i talked to them and sager about allowing it in the d901c. they basically said..hell no! so i ditched it and called it a day.
and it's already proven that you can over clock the x7200. if you use the search function..you too will see the pictures posted by xoticpc. -
And the overclock of the 980 is in windows using the Intel XTU? or whatever their utility is called. I don't believe it is a bios overclock, although the utility may change bios settings.
-
xtu is bios over clocking for windows.
it has most of the needed voltages to change for a higher over clock. -

XTU changes the bios values. It is not purely a windows OC, a reboot is often required. Also, in order for XTU to work, it is has to be enabled in the bios to allow those changes to be made - something clevo/sager knowingly did to please customers this go around. The 980x is absolutely overclockable in the x7200, as are all the other cpus (although you can only raise the multiplier on the unlocked extreme chips)

True that.

has anyone tried throttlestop on the D900c/f? It works on my M570RU (up to 3.6GHz stable on my x9000)

did you try forcing it into extreme mode (extreme=1 in the config file)?
-
question bout x7200, if i config it with i7 980 processor and dual 480m sli, wont the wattage already add up to 345 watt, being the processor at 145w and for each 480m is 100w.
now the psu adapter that came with it is 300w, will it have problem to power up the machine, since this did not count other peripherals like the hdd and etc??
maybe reseller could help clear this doubt -
Kobalt list this notebook with 1xhdmi 1.4 input. is this a typo? if no, uk owner will be proud but us owner may head up with sager
-
there is so much we want to know about this machine, please please lets see a review soon.........
-

-
You should, If it is an option any customer who asks for it should get it no?
Sager made a mistake by not including it, clevo made a mistake by not making it a standard feature! Its standard in their x8100 model, why not in the bloody x7200? -
I wonder what the actual reason is for not including this. Cost seems unreal because that thing isn't really going to add much to the price. Maybe they're lazy?
-
It leaves me scratching my head as to why, but its too nice a feature to leave out. Each day seems like a week and still no reviews
-
I think the reason is they want to make hdmi in as the selling point of np8120. if both machine have this option, no reason to buy np8120 (just for me).
-
It's not as much that they don't have it that's the issue, it's the fact there's a darn plugged hole where it should be! This is supposed to be the cream of the crop, the pinnacle of notebook power and ability, yet they cripple it in a sense and show its scar with the plugged up HDMI-in hole. If there weren't a plugged up hole and the area where the HDMI-in would be were just flush with the rest of the chassis then I wouldn't really care as much. Sure I would be disappointed, but I wouldn't be frustrated every time I look at that 14mm x 4.55mm space knowing I thought I had the greatest notebook (for its time, of course) fully loaded to the brim.
That's just my opinion of course. -
This is almost exacty how I see it lol
-
Don't buy it from Sager then. What's the big deal ?
-
No hdmi input as standard, but its no biggie to you, thats fair enough, it means different things to different people
-
not only sager that stated no hdmi-in. just remembered that rjtech and lpc digital which sale barebone also said no hdmi-in so it's mean all vendors in America don't have x7200 with hdmi-in. anyone want this option must buy oversea from uk. funny enough
-
Because all American resellers buy it from Sager (the distributor)
-
Which is why I'm starting a petition. Or someone do it before tomorrow lol

Speedy Gonzalez Xtreme Notebook Speeder!
we really have more important things to worry about like power issues , how good the machine will be with HDMI in and stuttering all over the place
-
when i uploaded the user manual last week i was gobsmacked to see it was optional and double checked with kobalt who double checked with clevo
-
-
does that mean we might be saying welcome to kobalt have a nice day.
still sucks though for you guys over there. -
Great news, just like I received, fingers crossed clevo weren't bs'ing them

Please note:
That the reason US Sellers did not request the HDMI-In port in the x7200 is that it DOES NOT display or produce true 1080 HD performance. It maxes out at 720 or the most 1080I. It does not let you record it in 1080HD or even at all some have said.
If newer HDMI-In modules are made in the future that allow FULL 1080P correctly then it may be added in the future. This is the official word from Sager and other dealers. -
Thanks for the update, interesting, but I still prefer it in there.
So even though the hdmi input is apparently version 1.4, it cant pruduce full hd? How is this possible? A bios update is needed maybe to correct it?
Anyone who know the ins and outs of hdmi 1.4 please fill us in -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
The output is full hd, he is saying the HDMI in cannot accept full 1080p. And of course it will not let you record via hdmi in due to copyright concerns (read: blu-ray copying)
-
so the one in np8120 can accept full 1080p? if it do, why didn't they use the same one as np8120?
-
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
720p is fine for anything but gaming. I have a 52" 720p tv and it still looks spectacular for blu-ray compared to sd

Can i get anyone else on this my partner pre ordered a x7200 dual the base was 3.5k xtopic i see on sage its 2.7k why is it so much cheaper from sager ?
-
Ahoy Matey! A typo on em website. If ye can jump on it and get it for tha price - wow! Swabbies! I almost want to pull tuh trigger meself ! -
So Sager made a typo about the price? Then you can just sue them for false advertising and buy the computer for 2.7k lol
-
It looks like they didn't account for the extra 480M in the price. Other sites allow you to choose 1 or 2 of the 480M's. sager only had the dual SLI available, but didn't raise the price lol.
-
Grab 'em by the hojoes while ye can!
-
Yah I am wondering about this. I went ahead and placed an order with Sager. Will they honor this price? Also if I wanted to buy from Xoticpc(who i like better) will xoticpc pricematch sager? -
Xotic won't pricematch it. The price is wrong. Sweet deal...
X7200 Pre-sale price is here!
