Sager and when i call is I get aload of BS. I want a machine but if anyone else made machines like this they would be out of business.

I purchased 480 desktop pre order day one shipped day one. Not 7200 pre order and it does not ship for 2 weeks. No one has a dual to ship but they all have dual shipping on the websites maybe my lawyer needs to see this.

Also why does it takes a week longer to get oen from a reseller than direct. ?

is the reseller buying it from sager with my money, its realy funny how they need 3 days to approve credit card, is this becasue it takes 3 days for it to hit the resellers bank account to pay sager for your laptop ???

Lets see when i get it . I ordered mine yesterday and my partner ordered his day one it showed on website he has no confirmation of anything. He ordered on a reseller on this forum, the reason why i paid a few bucks more direct.

 

Don't get frustrated too much yet, you'll have plenty of time for it later if issues surface

I ordered the M17X and got it 3-4weeks later. With HP 8740w I was waiting 3 months! They did offer a nice discount for the trouble though, hehe.

Dont worry it wont take that long but the whole you order from a reseller and they in turn order from Sager is exactly how that is handled... They offer somethings for you though and 1. is a discounted price over Sager directly 2. They are your voice if anything should happen to the machine so if you have an issue you call them and they will set up an RMA and if there is a problem with the RMA they will go to bat for you etc... Sorta like Client=You Lawyer=Reseller Judge=Sager ..

 

Patience is something very hard to find these days

 

We should just go setup a hastily made website with our own domain and have Clevo issue us a reseller license. Some of the reseller websites I've seen are very amateurish/atrocious so it can't be that hard.

You are so right the websites I have visited look like they have not been updated since the early 90s.

These sites nothing aligns and the images are straight copy pastes from all over the web. I am sure it is the only business you can get away with this.

How do they get away with it. Surely this market is ripe for a serious business man to make some money. Clevo representation on the web is very FLEA market.

 

I imagine would be nice if the front page of your website have a nurse but you sell Clevo machines

The machines are built to order, they are not stockpiled in a warehouse. Relax man......you cannot criticize these sites for looking unprofessional and then go around screaming like a kid that can't wait for christmas to open presents

They tend not to test AW systems. Whether they do not have a relationship with them, I honestly don't know.

Still, the review is a good relative performance comparison that shows the absurdity of a single 480M. The only reason you'd get a single 480M machine is either brand loyalty or fear of CF setups. One point of the review also seemed to be a value to performance ratio of a laptop versus a desktop.

I'm sure they'll test a x7200 SLI machine given that they have relationships with Sager resellers.

They only deal with Eurocom on the clevo front. They do news about Alienware releases but never have reviews of them. They are better at analyzing desktops. And if you read the comments, you will see that the majority of their user base are extremely close minded and childish when it comes to laptops and try to dismiss them all right away. It seems like almost all of their readers are either super high performance enthusiasts or super cheap, either way they consistently fail to appreciate what highend laptops bring to the table.

We began shipping our Sager NP7280 pre-orders with DUAL nVidia GTX 480M 2GB in SLI on Friday the 17th.

Bottom line is the DUAL card orders sold out very quickly. Sager is getting more in as quickly as possible, and we all apologize to those who are having to wait, but the demand was greater than expected.

I also think anyone who has pre-ordered was aware that they would be in short supply when first released, and this is in no way unusual, or intended to take advantage of anyone.

Isn't this like any other new electronic or child's toy when there is way more demand than available supply? Those who gets theirs first are happy and those who don't suffer from anxiety. Some just handle it better than others

 

So you have shipped dual 480m systems ?

I do not believe that any dual systems have been shipped and the friday date is given as its end of week and buys you 3 days over teh weekend. Monday Sager will ship reseller will be another week.

My partner ordered one day 1 of pre order and is not getting it shipped until next friday. So be real they dont exist seperate cards you only have barebones with one card to build until sager get the shipment of 480s from sager. tell the truth is all

Bottom line sagers got a load of barebones single cards and no extra cards to put in them . thats keeping it real

 

All resellers will sell you a single today ! why because they dont have nay cards to put in them to make em sli

 

Well Dual card machines have shipped as babyhemi got his machine and that was for personal use... So they certainly do exist just not as many out in the wild as people were hoping..

 

He is now arguing with the reseller about how they receive and sendout the machines....that is rich lol

I did some research on this and unless I got alot of bad info sager has not had shipment of the cards. I will know for sure when i see the batch number on the cards in the machines. I know 4 people with them on order now that i can look at myself.

Even if he did take another card out of another machine what did he use to get SLI working ? Gotta have that cable and we also dont know if the heatsinks are different or heck if the secondary card has a different BIOS on it then the primary card ... To many variables there and certainly that is a strong assumption to think he did what your saying ...

I don't know why there is a big debate about dual units being shipped yet unless its only over Sager. I ordered mine the day after they went pre-order and according to my tracking number, it arrives tomorrow. Regrettably its a dual 480M. Why the CF 5870's weren't offered is beyond me.

I wish I was more excited about getting it. I guess spending 5k on a laptop is still making me feel ill

Sorry that is just not true. Please remember all that these cards come in kits. One kit for the single 480m AND one kit for the SLI 480M (two cards with SLI cable) The SLI 480M Kits are out of stock. The single card kits of the 480M's are not out of stock so this is why the x7200-NP7280 are still shipping with the one card.

The pictures and video's that I posted in this thread from last Saturday on is from a REAL GENUINE SLI 480M system that was shipped to me last Friday the 17th. The one you saw from Xoticpc is the same SLI 480m system. Some others also received REAL GENUINE SLI 480M systems from the 17th ship date as well (those that ordered full systems that is). I hope this helps...

Let me be clear. Sager shipped multiple Sager NP7280 DUAL nVIDIA GeForce GTX 480M in SLI orders on Friday the 17th to PowerNotebooks.com customers as well as others ... that is LAST Friday.

My partner did go witha reseller and I guess teh wrong one.

I am not flaming anyone me and people at my company have about 20k out and nothing in our hands or not even a solid shipdate. You guys must deal with this kinda goofy stuff I dont.

 

It is normal in business for there to be weeks to months of lead time on orders. Even on big orders, like half a million dollars. Your 3d studio can't be as big as you claim if this is getting their panties in a twist.

Well like i said its just me. I order from HP every week and always get a ship date. I get online access to my orders and history and updates on every aspect of the order. On Sager and Clevo resellers its like stepping into the internet 15 yrs ago. I hope the machines are much better as you guys have been touting.

I do know the display is awful on clevo but I will not be using it so no worries.
I made my order after reading these forums and taking in you guys expeert advice, lets hope that you guys are right and the 7200 is not a giant plastic brick like d901 I hate so much.

I guess sager don't sell enough to offer a decent website and customer service that not the same 3 dudes you can hear scrambling around the office when you call.

I have to add this after the statement "not a big studio" I told my co workers and its laughable. I think if told you the name it would skew the whole deal and sager would hand deliver them.

I am off to japan tomorrow see if I can pick one up over the weekend.

 

do not expect a skinny laptop as the macbook air even as a Dell precision the X7200 has a basement included and every customer who has ordered this laptop knows.

But as long as we are going with small. I buy from Frozencpu , Danger Den micro sized companies compared with Sager. Perfect service never have to call, tracking history on site etc etc.

Sager's website is actually ok....and I am sure you got a confirmation email after ordering. They would then send you and email at each step of the process. You seem to just be sour because your order did not ship out within hours of you placing it. Get over yourself.....

I would have a sager if when I was buying a laptop they were ahead. But last summer the M17x was the best laptop on the market

And my desktop parts did not take long because I built it myself. If I had ordered a prebuilt desktop with those parts I would have expected to have had to wait a month for it. Just like I did for my Alienware. I actually got mine a lot faster than most people did.
