Kind of off topic, but for those that may be interested here are some scores with the GTX 260M with the 8662.

nice thanks for the benchmarks Justin

Any update on the price of a single 280m?
-
Excuse me Justin.
1. Can we have a GPU-Z screenshot for the 260M?
2. What's your policy on selling me a GTX 260M, even though I didn't purchase my notebook from your company? If my seller doesn't offer an upgrade path for existing owners, I'll be looking to spend my money somewhere else. I wouldn't be asking for any kind of warranty coverage. -

Pricing for individual cards is not expected to be available until a couple weeks after the systems arrive.
EDIT: Kevin please send me a PM.

I was kind of expecting it to get a higher score then that ...
them Msi 725's are showing better results with over 11000++ points ...

9 Lives only ... -
That CPU score on the Vantage benchmark seems a bit high for me...was PhysX enabled ?
p.s.: OMG, 8GB RAM :O -
look at the factors of the scores... NOT the total scores.
the SM2.0 and HDR/SM3.0 scores are quite good... like the 9800M GTX and slightly better since its actually running in a 15.4"
-
On Turbo Mode... yes.
-
And what does that do? It is +400Mhz for the cpu, like in the old GX models?
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
TL;DR. I just received a reply from RJTech regarding purchasing a seperate GTX 280M with the heatsink cage. They will have them by the end of next week and will have a finalized price on them.
-
Thanks Justin!
How does the temp look on the 260M in the 8662? -
Hmm, so it's true, and I was hoping that wasn't the case. The MXM2 versions can't come clocked as high as the MXM3 variants. I'll have to wait and see the OC potential...
-
It's almost certain you can overclock the memory to 950 mhz. Question is whether it'll go higher. I'd say the results are inline, given NBC got 11.7k with the 280M with memory @950 on a stock x9100.
-
Yeah but I was really looking forward to a stock memory clock of 950MHz. Disappointing. It appears that the 280Ms of the M980NU will perform at a much higher level than the ones in the 5797.
-
hey J, what is that intel turbo mem software about???
those numbers are a bit low. jason may need to try a different driver. a 9800m at the exact same clocks gets
10,656
2.0/4,939
3.0/4,581
cpu/2,676 -
ATi MR4850 could clock memory to 1150Mhz on a MXM 2.0 type IV so I think it's all marketing!
such low scores could be caused by old drivers/Vista 64 and by low freq memory! -
I wonder what stock clocks will the 280m have
OFF
Justin, have you heard anything about the ATi Mobility Radeon 4870+Clevo M570TU ? Or this was just planned and nothing happened since Clevo released drivers for it?
/OFF -
280m is suppose to be set to 585/950/1463
-
what I would like to know is this - will 1 GTX280m be able to beat 2 9800 gtx in sli mode ???
A Falling Cat named Spangky
9 Lives only -
no, it will not.
-
ya, that's what NBC sas...
-
Nope, that's also on Nvidia's website
http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_gtx_280m_us.html - check under Specifications
Memory up to 950 Mhz
Processor Clock (MHz) 1463 MHz -
nope what? -
Ya, on NVidia's website this is written for memory clock for both 280M and 260M: " Up to 950 MHz"
And as you can see the 260M in MXM 2.0 Type IV has a bit lower clocks compared to the card in MXM 3.0...and I assume the 280M will too. -
hummm, i guess we can throw this around as well.
-
Nope that is not only on NBC website, it's actually the official Nvidia specification.
-
, nice
ps: where did that screenshot come from?
-
nbc. in the gpu part of the review...
-
...and this is the MXM 2.0 Type IV or MXM 3.0 version? Or that does not matter?
-
the pics from Justin@XoticPC and johnksss are from the MXM 2.x module of a GTX 200Ms from within Clevo's with MXM Type IV slots.
-
however 950 doesn't seem a "limit" for MXM 2.0 or PCI-EX 1.0...I can push memory to 960 stable and gangstaone pushed it to 980...
Any info about ATi MR4870 in CLevo ??? -
ehm...yes, I saw that, I asked about the picture of the 280M
-
I would seriously like to de-throne Notebookcheck for gaming notebook info... like GPU comparability and benchmarks if I had the resources to get a hold of a workstation like the D901C or upcoming D900F/M980NU (since they all have MXM-IV slots that are backwards compatible with Type III and II) to swap in MXM modules all day doing detailed benchmarks and stability tests.
for the time being, until there are more MXM modules out for testing, no one will know certain. -

These are better the ATI 4870's? do they have SLI capability?
-
The GTX 280M will have SLI functionality.
at the moment, only the upcoming M980NU will have them in SLI.
they will fit in the current D901C but will probably need a BIOS update if the system needs to fully recognize them. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
How do they compare to the ATI's 4870's I have heard similiarly since the 280m is running off nearly the same as the 9800 gtx's
-
m570TU with 280M is out next week(?) and still no BIOS update...m860TU got the new BIOS weeks ago
-
*shaking dice*
come on now...pappa needs a brand new vga card
can i get a bios up date
*dice hits the floor*
to be continued... -
like I said.... a BIOS update will become available if the system does not recognize the new videocards properly.... so if they do get recognized, a new BIOS would not be required.
-
the GTX 260M (112 shaders) is the same specs as the 9800M GTX... with a die-shrink and slightly higher clocks... and much cooler.
the GTX 280M (128 shaders) is spec'ed like the Quadro 3700M... with a die-shrink and slightly higher clocks... and much cooler. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yea so I've seen... Im still deciding but I think im going to be heading in the direction of the ASUSW90-A1 im completely Enamored with it... (Dual ATI 4870's)
M980NU Was just massive at a different level, I heard the Laptop with Dual 280's is going to to have a desktop CPU lol, we might be talking 3-4 inch chassis -
well, you heard wrong. it's a core 2 duo or a mobile quad in the m980nu. in other wards...it's a mobile platform.
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
No lol not the M980NU that only comes standard with one 280m, Im talking of the one that comes standard dual 280m's
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
A future laptop under clevo, the next supposed "king" of laptop gaming... with a desktop cpu kind of ironic
-
standard with one what? it's a custom ordered laptop. only thing standard on that one is the screen/chassis/keyboard
i think your confused.
the d900f is the one with an i7 core cpu or desktop cpu
the m980nu is the one with the mobile cpus. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
sorry lol, I just meant baseline... seeing as this is the 280m thread
Me 1 respect:26 respect.... I am humbled -
w90 is nice. and they seem to have gotten past some of the bugs that plagued it's initial release.
-
Maybe Clevo had the revolutionary idea that the M570ETU will support any MXM Type IV 2.1 card out of the box. That would be sooo sweet.
Or maybe it's just designed to support G92 cores and then there is no need for a BIOS update.
Anyway, the new Nvidia drivers on laptopvideo2go seem to rock the place apart. People report going from 8900 in 3dmark06 to 9500 on a 9800M Gt. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yea Im stoked about the new W90Vp-A1 model... only problem is im not buying my laptop for another 2 months and alot is going to change by then... good thing I have this site eh?
