no thats what he told me. hopefully he will post here but he told me he tried it and it worked fine...as well as 2 other local people (well within about 4 hours of me) who are freinds of mine and they claim it also works fine.. only hitch i can see is all of them were 5790's not 5791's.. so the rev of the mobo's are older than the 5791..

About 15 minutes ago I hit the start->'sleep' button on my 5790, closed the lid, unplugged it, and put it on the couch. I just now picked it up, opened the lid (still unplugged), and it came on without a hitch. I then plugged it back in.

I haven't tried any USB sticks or anything, but my mouse (logitech G9) is usb and it still works fine, profiles and all.

I wouldn't make your decision based on whether your sleep/suspend works or not. It's really such a minor part of anything that even if it doesn't work, who cares? :p Unless you are a sleep FIEND!

id like to be able to drop in a t9300 or better though and im not sure the current mobo can do that?? or maybe the t7500 is good enough i cant imagine there is that huge of a difference the t7500 was a hell of a chip as is??

*shrugs* I like my t7500. If it's only another 150.00 to get a new motherboard with the 8800M, though, and gives you the possibility of upgrading your cpu later too, then it might not be a bad deal. I personally went on the cheap because I have a wife to answer to :p

Also, one last thing about the sleep issue. Please don't take what I say as canon; just because it works for me, doesn't mean it will work for everyone. I would hate for someone to take my advice and assume it will work even though the manufacturer says it won't, and then it doesn't and I get blamed :p

well its not just 150.. add in 37$ for return shipping.. about 30$ for shipping there... then even though im sure they would be careful the possibility of scratches or and damage there or back etc... personally i doubt id upgrade the 7500 unless there was a huge improvement since the next platform is almost near... this system i only plan on maybe 1-2 more years out of before a new one is on the horizon.. so im sure a 7500 would last that long.. anyone else agree??

What I'm thinking is, previously a mobo upgrade was necessary, but what I hear is that the newest BIOS forgoes the need for a mobo tweak...

What sort of temps are people getting with their 8800M GPU under load? Because it has reached 75C today which I feel is a bit high and it's idle temps are around 40-45C.

Everyone was saying that a BIOS would fix it. Although the resellers denied that posibility. Still , people upgraded just fine, and it`s interesting to see more and more people having no "sleep" issue.

I think I saw mine at like 62 once while playing TF2 for an hour or so. I checked after playing crysis a bit but it was only 58, figured it cooled pretty quick after I stopped playing...

Is the power draw on the 8800 GTX less than the 8700 GT? Someone mentioned this in the forums. Thanks.

No. The 8700M GT uses ~29W, whereas the 8800M GTX uses 35W .
Weird how my 7950GTX uses 45W...

anyone having this problem. ive tried with both whql drivers and unsinged 64 bit drivers..

hmm im having the same problems again with my gfx drivers.

everytime i install em and restart all is good. when i restart the comp again for the second time.. rivatuner says no forceware drivers detected. even though in the nvidia panel it says it is installed.

i tried to run 3dmark 06 again and it says a .dll file is missing and crashes

tried to run 3dmark vantage and says this program has stopped working visual C++ runtime error.

hmm im not sure what is wrong.?

Next time you get the .dll error write it down and google it.

Sometimes someone else has had a similar error and already found the solution on another forum somewhere.

Unless you have already done this...

If you got the DirectX download from the DirectX website you have the latest version.

I found this on the Rivatuner site...

I'm not even sure what that means but maybe you do...LOL

OCing, bad drivers or conflicts with older drivers can do that too.
Make sure you use driver sweeper after uninstalling an older driver, and CCleaner too.

Well, I've just installed driver version 175.75 and it seems to be the best so far. My 3dMark scores are back up to above what I got with stock drivers, still with the added stability of the 175 series.

Here are my 3dMark scores for 175.75 with cpu at 3.2GHz (multi OC) and GPU at 600/1500/900 (bios flash)

    Overall ----- 10908
    SM2.0 ------ 4974
    HDR/SM3.0 - 4626
    CPU -------- 2879

    Am I expecting too much?

I just got my Sager 9262 today and I'm attempting to run Crysis at 1680x1050 on high with NO AA or AS.

I'm only getting about 20fps according to FRAPS.

    I figured I'd be getting atleast 40.

    It's a E8400 3.0 dual core with the Geforce 8800M GTX SLI.

I haven't done anything with it yet to see if any other games or benchmarks seem low.

@nirvana, I can get over 11k, just not with those settings. I would need to up the gfx or cpu clock to do that, those are just the settings that are standara on my pc (couldn't be bothered to change anything for 3dmark right then)

I can rerun 3dm with a higher fsb to show you an 11k score...but i'm not going to reflash the gfx card, too much hassle

@theriko, what I meant was with 3.2Ghz and OCed GPU, you should able to break 11k. I archived 10652 with only CPU OCed at 2.9Ghz, stock GPU.

@nirvana - your OC considerably ups the fsb so auto OC's the ram and gfx too (by the same percentage) if i left my gfx card at stock and OC'd the fsb the same as you (I take it your fsb is ~242MHz) I'd probs get better 3dmark performance but it probably wouldn't be as good in games

    Ok.

I enabled SLI, which I had forgotten to do when switching drivers, and it helped some.

I'm getting about 30-35 FPS now which isn't bad.

I updated to the 175.75 drivers.

Is there a different set that would offer me better?

Nope, apparently 175.75 are the best the market has to offer.
30-35 fps all on high ,at 1680x1050, I am jealous...

    Yeah I'm not complaining really.

Looks great and plays really smooth.

It almost feels like I'm getting more than what FRAPS is telling me.
