hm, ill have to revisit this... as mentioned before, i do sport PremaMod, but so far it always made the impression that even though i set the values separately from each other, the Vcore would adjust itself to the cache offset (when checking the total voltage values before and after separate cache voltage adjustment in the Prema Bios). I will try and see what happens if I uninstall XTU, do an NVRam reset and only change values in the Bios. maybe thatll help with my cache and static voltage woes :)

Is that with fans on auto, overclock or full? If it's on auto and the fans are sitting around 2400 rpm, then 80c is good, mine sits at 79c after a couple of hours of graphically intense gaming at that rpm. If you're hitting that on full fans, then that seems a bit high.

Edit: I have a single 1080 with vapor chamber heatsink.

Fans on max, but on P775, not P870, so no vapor chamber for me.

Man this machine is fun to tinker with. Having trouble getting 4.6 to not throttle back down to 4.1 randomly but I might need to play around with the cache voltage.
The temps with single 1080 and the Vapour are around high 60s low 70 at full load with the fans are sitting on their backside doing nothing. It's a silent experience for gaming. Benching at max fans is fine too. They are loud but they mean business.

Not hot enough to cause harm, but warm enough to make 1080 slow down a little bit.

indeed... My wife doesn't like that while we are watching TV together, but I love these fans. They do mean business. The are very loud, but not loud enough for me to be bothered by it. Powerful and cool trumps quiet and hot. Quiet and hot is for turdbooks.

    Okay...

I'm a bit conerned that I can't max everything out in Metro Redux Last Light, and I won't get 60fps in FHD. Well, compared to desktop GTX1080 benchmarks, it scores really well, but it's sad that the game itself needs so much power...

It still reaches 94 on CPU, even with CPU limited at 4.0 GHz and -70mV, after a few hours of playing...

GTX 1080 is fast, but still won't run literally all games in FHD and everything maxed out

Unless you count gaming/streaming/recording while having a million other things open at the same time as naughty. Maybeeeee while rendering something out too. But I probably won't have enough CPU power so I'll do that separately =D.

Does anyone remember what the regedit was to disable the restart requirement for enabling SLI?

I remember on my M18x I changed a registry entry in regedit and it worked, but don't remember which one it was.

Use a @j95 mod and it will be already done and you won't have the extra NVIDIA cancer crap installed.

Find: RmDynamicSLI Enabled - change 0 to 1 on all registry keys where it is not already a 1, then reboot.

    Edit: Use this one... https://www.techinferno.com/index.p...ort-modded-inf/&do=findComment&comment=151731

Be sure to delete all of the cancer folders as instructed by Brother J. Download the correct Clevo INF zip file and the desktop GeForce driver in the link provided by @j95

Forgot to mention... desktop drivers (and @j95 mod) do not install any RmDynamicSLI registry keys at all. That's an NVIDIOT " let's be stupid to laptops" exclusive driver feature. Use DDU to clean out the old drivers and registry entries before installing the driver mod. I stopped using laptop drivers and switched to using desktop drivers a couple of years ago because of all the unnecessary garbage NVIDIA adds for laptops that impairs performance, bloats the registry and adds nothing of value.

I generally don't use Clevo (or other OEM) drivers, but especially not the GPU drivers. As often as possible I go with generic drivers from component manufacturers. 369.56 won't be validated by Futuremark because it's not a "normal" driver release.

one thing that always puzzles me is, why does the Clevo version of the nVIDIA driver contain the Miracast Audio Driver whilst the nVIDIA ones doesn't. I try to always stick with the latest Clevo driver and it usually causes me less headaches than the latest ones from nVIDIA.

Some of the NVIDIA drivers do have Miracast and others do not. I am not sure why that is. I have no use for Miracast anyway. I only use modded GPU drivers with all of the extra garbage removed. I only want the barebones driver and NVCP and PhysX. As you already know, the latest is frequently not the greatest when it comes to drivers and firmware. In fact, the latest drivers and firmware can sometimes be the worst. Once I am on a stable driver version I stay on it forever and never update unless a new driver makes my machine run faster, bench better, or fixes something that was broken. Sometimes a game requires a GPU driver update, but if I am not playing that game I ignore the update.

Reason being. And I have ran into this on more than a few occasions with client machines. Coming out of sleep fails. Coming out of hibernation fails. They come out with a black screen and you have to sleep, open lid and do a bunch of other things in hopes that the screen comes back on. And when that fails you have to push the power button for 6 seconds to shut off and restart.

Yup, sleep and hibernation have been plagued with tendencies toward malfunction for as long as I can remember. I always disable hibernation from the command prompt and turn off sleep functionality in the power profiles on all of my systems. I use my computers two ways: (1) turned on; and, (2) turned off. I have no legitimate reason to use sleep or hibernation, but I know some people really like those features. I don't mind waiting an extra second or two for a cold boot. I'd rather have a machine that runs right more than one that shows me the desktop 2 seconds sooner, LOL.
