The GPUs need to be GSYNC compatible is what I think he said

Correct me if im wrong here, but arent the GPU's exactly the same? Just that the GSYNC ones have additional info/flags to enable gsync?

So I worked out the difference in cost and WITH a delided cpu and all the specs i ordered ALONG WITH THE PREMA VBIOS the cost of a brand new laptop would come to 10$ more than what I paid for mine. Asked them to see what they could do, because for g-sync compatible 4k panel and gpus along with the prema mods and a delidded cpu im pretty sure i could go up an extra 10$, annoyed i didnt just wait to order it now!

oh darn!! I felt the same thing, I bought my Eurocom Sky X9 2 months ago and paid $200 USD for the Prema BIOS and got a crappy 6700K CPU for $6000 USD

I then upgraded my CPU to a Silicon Lottery one from HIDevolultion along wiht 2800 MHz 64GB RAM, so the total cost went up to $7000 USD

Now think of it, if I configure the same system as an EVOC one, it would cost me around $1000 USD less.

Oh well, we can't win them all.

Please send your machine to HIDevolution so they can hook you up with the latest Prema BIOS v1.5 along with the latest VBIOS v2

I like the temps for a stock non de lid processor. (Ambient temp is @ 24)

Tbh I'm not expecting them to do much if anything about it, but I REALLY want GSYNC and the delidded CPU so of the worst comes to the worst I'll just return the laptop for a refund and reorder it at a later date as I'm still within my 30 days.

    This is after 17 Mins.
I AM NOT DELIDED BRUUH! I might try and take the cache up to 4.3Ghz. Specially since i haven't noticed any difference between the cache being @4.2Ghz or at 4.5Ghz, other than increased thermals. Id rather keep my RAM @ 2400Mhz CL14.

Yeah I have spoken to them and I'm waiting for their "solution" what would be ideal is to return mine for a brand new replacement (with the desired specs), but I don't like the idea of an almost 500$ restocking fee. So I may have to go the route of just returning the laptop unfortunatley.

reducing the cache ratio to stock 41x made a big difference with the temps, look.....now I think I can try 4.6 GHz on all cores

BTW, HIDevolution has changed the model name for your P870DM-G to EVOC P870DM-G

    See: http://www.hidevolution.com/evoc-p870dm-g-custom-gaming-desktop-replacement-laptop.html

Just a suggestion to change your sig, saying that you have an EVOC already means it's an HIDevolution machine and already means that it has Prema BIOS

    up to you

I tried 4.8 GHz with a +20 core voltage offset, then AIDA64 stopped the stress test after a few seconds saying hardware failure detected, benchmark stopped. I was a bit worried so I reverted back to my stable OC

Yeah i saw that today morning, did mention it in another thread.

But yeah, i have a feeling i got lucky with my processor. Check out the idle/browsing temps. I even stopped the throttling (my min cpu frequency at High performance was at 75%). This is CStates/HT/Speed Shift etc turned ON.
Ill probably de lid my processor next week and add CLU under the IHS.

I dont think you should try 4.8Ghz at Adaptive voltage. Always do static/override at those clocks.

Also AIDA64 stress test isnt always reliable, even though it might go without crashing for hours. I always do a 1 Hour Prime95 run to finalize my 24/7 clocks. It does lead to increased thermals but, this type of load is never reached during my rendering work.

wow amazing man! you don't need a Silicon Lottery CPU to be honest, you already got it. The only benefit of SL is removing the guess work or chances of getting a bad one, which I am very famous for. They are all the same Intel CPUs after all, you have one of them without knowing it :D count your blessings

    LOL dont Jinx it.
I was drooling over @Mr. Fox 's Panther 5SE and that LGA2011 socket, the 6 core processors i could run in that baby (i dont know if they are compatible), but his setup is nothing short of drool worthy.

since we have similar CPUs, I am interested in your settings / how high you can go with stability.

Whenever I set static voltage and a high overclock, the CPU runs at 1.1 Ghz / 4.7 GHz or whatever that OC is. Using the same Turbo Max Power/Power Limits

Wait a minute, the Panther has a 6 core CPU? If so, that makes it better than the P870DM isn't it? other than the fact that it cannot take 980M in SLI or a desktop 980 right?

NONO, it has a LGA 2011 socket. Ours a mainstream LGA1151. Most of the 6+core processors are on the 2011. Again im not sure if it would be compatible, but would love to try. Because i saw on Eurocoms website that it does support some high end Xeon's.

I managed to stabilize @ 4.7ghz 2 days back (This was at 1.388 V if i remember correctly). haven't seriously tried 4.8 yet. My main goal to achieve a 4.7Ghz overclock which i can use 24/7.

It CAN take 980m in SLI, as well as I have mine with the 970m's!
Nobody tried a Desktop 980 in the Panther yet as a heatsink hardmod would be surely required and we're not sure, if the 180w version would fit.

PS: you must run it as admin

Dude those are gonna so helpful with new owners of the P870DM , i mean i figured out most of the stuff by trial and error + from trying out @Mr. Fox 's 4.7ghz video. That really helped me understand what needs to go up and down.
I emailed Prema about info on what some of the BIOS options do and he linked me to your video. Good stuff! I wish i could rep you, but gotta go rep 3 other people.

unfortunately, we can never catch Mr. Fox with our single 980 GTXs even though I enjoy it more in games :D They lose in benchmarks

What CPU clock speed / GPU Core / GPU Mem were you at? this is insane for a single 980 GTX
