I found out. I had clicked open aida64 by accident when i hit the mouse....
No more random spin up since that one time.

@benson881 disable RSR in BIOS...

@Prema already done mate.

It looks a bit like the board may actually be running out of power to supply the CPU...
Play with CPU voltage up and down and see how that changes the behavior...
Use static instead of adaptive if possible.Last edited: Nov 26, 2016 -
I'll give it a try this evening mate. Im currently running a - 115mV on ring and core. Because it wasn't crashing I thought everything was OK. I'm gonna start off by changing it to - 50mV and see if it makes a difference. I'll keep it adaptive at the moment as I've never played with static voltage. So I'll do some reading. I'll post my results soon

Refer to my screen shot. See how my watts are higher than yours? My cpu is sitting at a lower over clock than yours?

Are you even able to draw more than 60W?

Hi all,
Thanks for the input. I am pulling about 70w peak. Ive been playing about with the voltage and the more power i give to the CPU the worse it gets. I tried -50mV and caused it to throttle a lot. I did a little experiment and if i drop the core and memory on my GPU by 200mhz each the CPU doesn't throttle . (this is me running with a -130mV on core and -100mV ring and -20mV on analog. -
Got all the power limits set high in the BIOS? Not left on auto?
-
You should be able to run 4.6 without touching anything other than power limit 1 and 2. This should be 100 percent doable, but that is with a P870DM2/3. It should be doable on other 6700K setups. As long as the EC is not current limiting you with over draw from the system.

-
Ill try it without running HWinfo in the background . Hope its that easy to fix

Single 1080 3DMark 11 run... http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/11773829

It's shouldn't be mate caus I'm running premas bios.
Tried without hwinfo running and no change I'm afraid.

That's like 5000 more 3DMarks more than my score! Awesome man!
What CPU clock speed / GPU Core/Mem?Mr. Fox likes this. -

Its weird how little difference a 6850k makes in the physics score : http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/11773966Mr. Fox likes this. -

Dang, does throwing lots of high clocking cores at it help? Or something funky on my end ?
-
Yep. Mine is doing this as well. Worse than yours, but the cpu clocks hold and so do the gpu clocks...
That was 8 cores. Look up 4960X/980M.That will give you closer to you results.bloodhawk and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

you just bought 3DMark11?? Dude we're almost in 2017 and you just thought of buying it?
This is one of the must have benchmarks as it stresses both CPU/GPU together

CPU throttling when the GPU is under load has been fixed in the latest Prema BIOS update:
3DMark11 score went up by 2500 3DMarks for me, this is with C-States enabled also:

Try now. I forgot about NBR and it's images issues....Along with it's ad issues and the crash your browser if you let it sit too long without doing anything or the random sounds.
Mr. Fox, afloyd and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
You can read the cpu/gpu max - min temperature after bench in TS. You can even read the maximum power draw from the processor
Is there more you need?
You should be more interested in maximum numbers. And I don't mean useless numbers

I have one, but ill test that one out as well. I don't get adds. It's something to do with the site after they changed it.
Not sure just yet.

Yep. Win10 is a bit slower in that respect.

Memtesting 3200 Mhz CL14 right now. Someone took this kit to 4133 Mhz @ 18-18-18-36-CR2 at the default 1.35V. Lets see if my kit can do it, i doubt it since its 64 Gigs

Hi Bro, I sent you a few PMs, can you please check them
Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Nope. I have the 4x4GB Kingston 2400 overclocked to 2800. The 16GB G.SKILL 3000 modules are still too unstable. I am probably going to switch to 4x8GB of 3000 RAM this week. The smaller capacity and lower speed is reflected in slightly reduced benchmark scores.
It is odd that going from 16GB to 32GB seems to improve scores even though it uses nowhere near the capacity. I never would have expected that. -

XMP1 CL16,, it never finishes man, I got bored after 16 seconds. Didn't have time to test with memtest yet but let me tell you this, before the latest Prema BIOS fix, it would crash right away in any benchmark like Fire Strike. Now everything works -
