I've never seen that video. Did the system work well? I imagine you'd still have to have cold air running through the water cooling radiators

Not sure. It would seem that the water cooling is strictly for the gpu while the cpu is cooled by air. That's why I couldn't buy into it. At least the water is ran through the heat sink where the heat starts to generate at....

Ya, that's odd that they wouldn't have it hit both CPU and GPU

Maybe because they know it's a 45W Turd although you can clock up a bit on the hk :D

The GX800 has its watercooling pulling heat off the heatpipes above the cores on the HK and the 1080s. Its not as effective as proper closed loop coolers or even AIO's (from the reports of temps I've seen lurking in the owners thread) because as johnksss says the best setup is a decent diameter tube for high flow rate, through a proper waterblock with loads of microfins - but any added heat removal helps temps and therefore volts and OC

Big fans on big rads can dissipate loads of heat at near silence. Though that probably doesn't mean much here as most OCers are used to screaming fans anyway

The small radiator is the biggest limit on this design.

You guys are looking at the original design, several years back now. The current model has been out for a year, the GX800VH, and I am hoping Asus will have a new refresh with still more improvements. Maybe even with Volta :)

ASUS ROG GX800 Gaming Laptop Goes Bonkers With GeForce GTX 1080 SLI And Water Cooling
    https://hothardware.com/news/asus-rog-gx800-gaming-laptop-goes-bonkers-with-geforce-gtx-1080-sli
    small_rog_gx800_2.jpg
Asus has taken it's time contiually improving the design and layout across several models with beta versions shown in between.

I hope they keep it up and through the Coffee Lake / Volta and given the assumed thermal loads required for higher core count CPU's and Volta - for a large performance jump, water-cooling might be required for desktop and laptop.

Someone here on NBR is selling his GX800 for a large discount from the current selling price, if you're curious about it:

I am going off the current design, the radiators are too small for the dual GPU design.

With a more elegant design they could have used a thick 240mm radiator rather than that.

My friend and I were gaming yesterday. He accidently left his glass of water behind his Alienware 18.

After one game in Overwatch, he goes to grab it, and it's nearly at boiling point (probably was 80C) LOL

Got a HP Quadro M1000M as a "boot-up" card. The seller first sent me a K2100M accidentally, so I got chance to overclock both cards and revisit the golden overclocking age of Kepler and Maxwell.
"Tiny" card on "big body", :p:
    M1000M.jpg

    K2100M (576 Kepler cores; default core: 666.5MHz; memory: 3008MHz)
Overclocked to: core: [email protected]; memory: 4400MHz (100% performance gained; passed 5 hrs of Heaven 4.0):
    K2100M@FSN.jpg K2100M@3DMK11.jpg

    M1000M (512 Maxwell cores; default core: 1071.5MHz; memory: 5010MHz)
Overclocked to: core: [email protected]; memory: 6932MHz (40% performance gained; passed 5 hrs of Heaven 4.0):
    M1000M@FSN.jpg M1000M@3DMK11.jpg
Though these scores are nothing comparing to today's Pascal, but the joy of overclocking these mini beasts is amazing, easily gained 40~100% performance.

    Update to my GTX 1070:
@Khenglish tested almost everything on my card and hasn't been able to detect what caused the shorted 5V rail, currently he ran out of idea of what to diagnose.

I wish Clevo would offer a cooler for the use of standard format MXM modules in the DM3/KM1...

There was never a doubt. I knew all you needed was a motherboard and time. Cancerware doesn't stand a chance with you on the job, Brother @Prema.

And, I have a feeling that @Mobius 1 is not going to be able to sleep now.

It will be so nice to soon be able to finally see examples of P870KM1 laptops that function correctly.

Just add the links, doesn't matter if Futuremark identifies the cards or not, they auto-correct once they update their lists (request GPU HWID updates as stated by brother Fox above). While at it maybe add your missing 1070 benches as well. :)

    Hi Guys,
A couple off topic questions. #1 how do you give reputation points out in this forum and #2 how do I change the words under my name from
" Notebook Consultant" to "Overclocking Guru" or "OC King" or something like that , remember before you answer the second question there could be kids reading this forum . Thanks guys

Awesome! I am going to do that and see if they will fix it soon.

Just found out some of the results(k2100m && m1000m) weren't even saved on 3DMark server or my account, T_T. I am going to beat my scores and post them again on the bot later.
But the good news is, I added all the best benches from my previous 1070, :).

    @Johnksss@iBUYPOWER

Trying to get a stable 3000MHz on the KM1 after prema bios.

Other than windows memory diagnostic, what other tools do you recommend that I use for testing stability of the RAM? Since HCI memtest isn't recommended anymore for DDR4.

I have testmem5 but I think it's a way older version, can you link me the newest one?

I made a small testmem5 Mod a while back to output results in actual English. ;)
Felt a bit awkward to display new stability achievements with the original result text...

    Fox should have a copy...

With the KM1 MOD you can now also flash the RAM with custom profiles via Thaiphoon Burner.

Again ask brother Fox for the profiles we created back then.

    Update of my MSI 1070:
Awesome news! GPU surgeon @Khenglish successfully removed the 5V short(22uF cap blown short) on my card, now it's working again! Huge thank for his hard work and not giving up trying on my card during the last few weeks. Also thank you @poprostujakub for giving out suggestions of how to detect/chase the short, as well as other members in this forum providing help and support!

Since Khenglish said the short wasn't caused by what I did to it, I think I will be back on torturing the card again, lol. Now we are talking about hard-voltage mod on the core and memory chips, :p.

Now @Khenglish is trying to enhance it to match 1080's configurations, can't wait to see the card's physical limit. This is the 3DMark11 score(before enhancement) under @Khenglish :
