Well at 4.6Ghz i peak out at about 70-75C without the U3.
CLU works great on the IHS if your heat sink and the IHS are making evenly flat contact, if either of them is not flat then it wont work properly. Give it a shot and see if it works for you. I cleaned out the adhesive completely, and then left the IHS sit using the locking bracket. Just be careful and make sure its in the right position/centred.
I did seal it once with Silicon glue, but ended up removing it for no good reason.

I spent about 5 days slowly honing mine to a mirror before using a polish (jeweler's rouge) to finish the surface, followed by a wash to remove oils. You can do it quicker, I'm just OCD! :) (and used 1,000 grit to flatten. If you start with coarser and are careful, you can remove the imperfections quicker. Finished with 2,500 grit wet dry, then went to 3M polish paper).

I had a spare, so no down time. Also, the heatsink was bowed in the center. Wasn't when I finished! :)

Yeap, exactly the same issue here with both my heat sinks. Lapped one, still gotta lap the second one. Im actually thinking of just sticking a copper shim with arctic silver adhesive to it.

I thought it's kind of corrosion caused by oxidation of LU/LP which can form a film that hinders heat conductivity from IHS to heatsink.
That's why I always removed it using mild sandpapers or even polished it using some kind of polishing machine.

So you mean I dont have to do these stuffs?

No, imo it's a discoloration, no more and no less. Never had an issue with it. Does not mean that you're wrong, just that sanding it away (everytime) might be a little bit of an overkill.

In theory a discoloration means either another layer of somewhat or an oxidation that might influence the thermal conductivity of the IHS. But if you don't mind sanding it away after repasting everytime, then it's surely no mistake.

So, just ddu'd and installed the 368.22 desktop driver. Even modding like I did for the desktop_ref4i to work, it no longer installs the physx driver and doesn't read as official like 365 did. If anyone could shed some light, I'd like to know why. Also, they package a vulkanrt installer within the display driver folder, fyi if interested. Let me know if you know how to cause physx to be installed.

Edit: about .500s faster in gpupi1B over the last desktop driver with same overclock, not enough to submit...

Is the PhysX installation simply not available or does it just not install it?

I know it's not a clean solution but what happens, if you just install the 368.22 over the older 365 one? The PhysX version hasn't changed by now. You could install only the graphics Driver under the custom install.

As a result of the unrighteous actions of Jacob Rosenberg (user Exec360), who couldn't resist to break his promise & betray my trust, the public release of the Prema Mod (v)BIOS for all 49 Clevo Skylake gaming models, which was scheduled for the first of June, is hereby postponed indefinitely.

    Prema Out!

Not available. Only driver, audio, and GeForce experience is available, which I don't install. I may have to resort to that, but want to figure out a solution moving forward... More to learn!

He bought from a non--partner shop and wanted my Mod badly as he failed to figure it out on his own.
Then instead of just using it for himself, he reverse engineered my code, copied it "bit for bit" and even posted a tutorial online as if it is his own achievement.
All after getting my mod for free and not even writing a single line of "thank you" in return:

    https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/gallery/image/37-exec360jpg/

I had the huge release surprise for everyone, but at this point I don't feel like giving any more mods to anyone...

Maybe you need to implement the brick bit like svl7 did. This kind of crap is atrocious. I think the testing/screening process needs to be more lengthy and only to trusted/reputable people like Swick, Fox, Rengsey, johnksss, svl7, and I did when we tested mods for the M18x R1/R2. svl7 went through this crap, and now he's out of the game. Sorry to see you go too, it absolutely blows major when somebody takes your work, calls it their own, and gives no credit. :(

Anybody reading this post, please take note of what happened. The fool is a recent registered member with no reputation to his name. If you plan to have a pool of beta testers, make sure they have some sort of established reputation so you can safeguard your work. There needs to be an established vetting process to prevent these disasters.

@Exec360 you can go to hell and take your greed + attention whoring elsewhere. Scum like you are what ruin an enthusiast community

It's also good to donate when you can! Go to the premamod.com page and give a donation, if possible, to show your appreciation! Thank yous are nice, but cash is better (for little things like beer or saving up for bigger things or to help him on his travels)!

Also stores can just pay up for PREMA work... i´ve also seen some stores recommend his work, installing his work, not voiding warranty but they have payed ZERO to him.
I´m proud that since i assemble CLEVO i always requested paying services from PREMA.
Clients can always pressure the stores to do this.

Looks like he removed it from being public or i just can't find his links..

Welcome to our world, but then you already knew this was a possibility unfortunately. Svl7 and I had this argument with quite a few people across many different forums. And I know they flat out stole it because I see OUR code in it.

It's not a brick bit. It code written into the bios. And it's not done by hex editing so a hex editor would never work to reverse engineer it.

A few names are missing off that list, but then that's just my opinion. :D

Yeah, that's not why he is out the game im afraid.

As to the last part....That is pretty hard to decide who those people are since new machines come out all the time. And not all us can keep buying them to get them working. Although I did buy at least 5 in this respect. And many vga cards as well, but that is costly. Now if manufactures would let us have free rein in this respect....Things would be alot different, but they are bound by intel, amd & nvidia. So they can't just up and go doing their own thing without some serious backlash..... Mobile politics

What @Exec360 did to @Prema was tantamount to theft, not to mention immoral, and it will potentially hurt everyone (all of us) that happily supports Prema and his amazing work.

I suspect more than one person here would agree with me that we don't want people like this in our community. This is not the Pirate Bay, and we don't take kindly to pirates or liars.

Well, yours definitely is. I suspect it was not an intentional omission. Not everyone pays close enough attention to identify all the key players, and you're at the top of the food chain, bro.

It's 12:52pm 'here' right now outside of D.C.; when I dropped into NBR @ ~8:30am this morning, I saw Prema posted something, so I wondered what; on entry, I witnessed a level of douche-baggery & ****ery that took me by surprise. I posted / called in the mods, they deleted it maybe an hour later. That post was up for about 12hours, it had 128 views or so. Not many.

This dumb mutherjumper actually had a public Poll @ the top to get feedback if his **** worked or not. In a way, we should be thankful he published here out in the open, & not somewhere else & never know at all about it *shrug*
exec.JPG He's some kind of sycophant, he's following Prema as we speak. On his page, you can report him, or, oddly enuff follow his ass, hound him out of here til the Mods delete the account: I motion for a public petition to delete the account (& traffic I.P. address for any new accounts *ahem*). Word of advice fellas? Be weary of any Newbies chiming in here with brand new accounts, sniffing around. Could be him, getting his kicks. Now it's like the Kurt Russel movie The Thing.

Another thing, I'm on lunch, a little over, I gots to go, but when I snipped that douche's account pic, run it into google ( click me), I get hits for accounts on bios forums like here > so if someone wants to join there or wherever, watch out for publishings of PremaMagic? Some damage control?

Honestly Little Bios Mod? What I saw looked like gobbledy gook, I doubt maybe one guy got away with info here, the rest didn't know what to do with it ...

edit: boss man gonna kill me in 2minutes. That post never used the word @Prema in it, I doubt people knew what it was they were looking at until you chimed in yourself this morning, so your info was dethly exposed for what, an hour? My heart goes out brother, but it may not be a bad exposure, just a hateful one. Dunno what else to say ... sorry I said anything.

@Mr. Fox, edit my post if u see info that don't need to be here, no harm no foul

Outright ban and nothing less. And maybe if the staff can issue a warning email to the other BIOS/Tech forums to keep an eye out. Since this will hurt Prema's work a lot, they will understand the severity.

Credit... and personal gain from the labor of others from whom they have stolen. What people like @Prema do requires knowledge and talent. His selfless generosity to the enthusiast community is nothing short of amazing. What happened today was treachery and biting the hand that feeds. @Prema does a whole lot to make our lives easier when it comes to performance. And I have to say thank you for that! Greatly appreciated!

    I was just thinking....
Unfortunately my shop can´t supply laptops with PREMAMOD, i used to work for another shop before i decided to start my own. Back then i managed to make a exclusivity deal with PREMA. Well, now that i have my own shop the exclusivity deal with my past work place does not allow PREMA to supply my new shop, nothing we can do, i can´t be a PREMA Partner Shop.

BUT, what i CAN do is allow my clients to flash PREMAMOD public BIOS without voiding the warranty. And i can still exchange emails with PREMA to get his help, and let me tell you, this guy is THE BEST, it takes a special kind of person to be as helpful as him.

So.... what´s the point in saying to my clients "yes you can use PREMA BIOS, we will honor warranty" if there is no public release for them to flash... well my friend Prema, let me give you a good reason for releasing them.

FROM THIS MOMENT, for each CLEVO based chassis that OBSIDIAN-PC Performance Systems sells we will donate 5€ to PREMA. I will even try to code some kind of API or something so that PREMA can have access to this value without any doubt that we are being honest.
On top of this we will keep requesting paid work from PREMA, not MODS but other stuff, and we will keep paying these the best we can.
This is not a temporary thing... we will announce it in our website tomorrow.

Here you go my friend, get you spirit up, and give your people the MODS!

EDIT: Ok after thinking a bit more i just realized that this will come out as a publicity stunt, humm, i know PREMA knows me better. My hope with this is that other shops follow the example, if they can, by becoming a Prema Partner, or by donating or even recommending their clients to donate, well anything actually.

Hi John, the right sentiment is there, though you should get yourself marked as a reseller of course ;)

Contact mods that can help you get setup. @Mr. Fox , @Ethrem , @allyourgroceries - John could use your help getting marked as a reseller. If you could please get him setup or point him in the right direction to not violate forum rules, he'd be greatly appreciative! :)

I doubt there will be too many big names, because either they already are partners or they dont want the additional liability of supporting something the manufacturer isn't really positive about.

Here's my new second-hand "baby beast" running completely stock clocks on CPU and GPU with one little lonesome 980M. The CPU score with BIOS defaults is over 11K. It does have @Prema BIOS and vBIOS installed, but nothing else tweaked in this first benchmark. Looks like Futuremark hasn't approved NVIDIA's newest driver yet.

But, with a modest nudge it starts to develop a nasty disposition. Still breaking in the de-lid and need to order more Liquid Ultra. Only have IC Diamond on top of the IHS for now. More serious benching with better paste and AC cooling will have to wait for another day.
