Tested with Wprime 32M and continuing with an ok test score. I think this 32m bench score also fit first page.

Hello.
I am using TS yes. But whatever I do, current is limited to 121A.
And due to this limit, I am only able to OC 6700k to 4.5 with stability.
If I go higher like 4.6, current throttle happens.
Do you have any similar experience? -
Hmmm. Can you raise current with XTU? Though xtu is way less stable imo.
No, not really. I max out my power limits via bios.SierraFan07 likes this. -
I am talking about current not power. Even if I change current, yes the number changes but still limited to 123A.
You can check this by using XTU monitoring (there is current throttle configuration) and run a bench with 4.6.Last edited: Mar 8, 2016 -

Yes sorry just choose custom then change the memory ratio -

Thanks.
No. Because this laptop has socket hardware so everything comes by itself
. Very happy with the machine. Don't know how much Raid degrade the Cpu performance, but this can't be much.

Does RAID affect CPU performance?
if you have a extra HDD, you can probably test how much it affects the performance. -
Think @Phoenix said something about the topic. No raid controller on Clevo laptops. But personally I don't think this is a big loss if it is a degrade at all.

I thought it did as my wPRIME score went down, turned out to be it was Avast Antivirus causing it.
I am back on RAID 0 now for both my NVMe SSDs and my wo 2TB HDDs, wPRIME score is still the samePapusan likes this. -

RAID 0 has very little overhead, the impact on a modern processor will be tiny.Spartan@HIDevolution and Papusan like this. -

Question for you bro, why does Sager advertise these latest laptops as having hardware RAID when we know as long as a computer doesn't have a dedicated RAID controller, it is not hardware RAID and even though it is setup in the BIOS, it is a Hybrid RAID as it still uses the CPU for the RAID operations? Isn't that false advertising?

It's tricky, because firmware raid in a way is hardware raid, it's not controlled by the OS and is managed by the chipset, it's just the controller chip used is the CPU.
That subtle definition is hard to get across to people but it's certainly not pure software, you can manage the array with no OS installed.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Yes stay away from AVAST I ran an abundant amount of testing with my gt80 and its will cause resource troubles. Better off with AVG free.

Running Windows Defender now on Windows 10 with the PUP Detection patch, at least it doesn't interfere with my system. Last time I used AVG 6 months ago it corrupted my entire RAID 0 array. Never again
Windows Defender Is Becoming the Powerful Antivirus That Windows 10 Needs
-
Wow never heard of that, I have used AVG on several platforms with raid and never an issue. The only issue I have ever had was with license corruption and a simple reinstall corrected it easily. Crazy luck you have.

Just OC and take a screenshot of CPU-z as in HWBOT?

Now show us some wPRIME magic
Remember, choose settings then set it to 8 threads -
No problem. I'm still messing around in the bios (had to reset CMOS a couple of times because of non-boot; trial and error). I was able to to get to 2800MHz in the bios and it's perfectly stable.
Neat thing is I didn't have to manipulate the timings for this minute overclock (just set certain options to auto and it clocks higher automaticaly). I'd share more but I'm not home at the moment.
So on and so...this tells me I have even more overclocking headroom, perhaps I can make it to 3000MHz and a little beyond.
. Hopefully I can figure this out.
BTW are you going to upgrade to the G.skill 2800MHz RAM? Would be awesome to see what you can do with it beyond stock speeds.

first let me get it
Secondly, let me run it for a while @ 2800 MHz that would be a huge upgrade from my current 2133 MHz. IF all passes, then I might try 3000 MHz

Anyone care to try to bench these high over clocks running 3dmark vantage?

I am realizing how bad stock bios is and also how good prema bios is.

I really wish @Prema releases a public version for the P870DM (/-G), i doubt this will ever happen , but wishful thinking. This would be helpful for heavy tweakers like me who had to get a system on short notice and couldn't go with a system builder who already provides one with or without extra cost. Heck i dont even mind paying for it, if i can flash it on my own.
@godfafa_kr I remember you inquiring about AMIBCP in another thread, did you end up flashing Prema's version ? or did you mod it on your own? -
Exactly why we can't pass judgement on parts till we have an optimal working environment. Then once REAL stock is realized, then we can go forward.
-
I failed modding by myself. Secure nvram was too hard for me to crack.

-
Haha, same for me. Heck i got lost way before that.

Great job!
Edit:
That bios can not be edited in the normal way of things....Last edited: Mar 8, 2016 -

Hey John, is the voltage for 980m only for core or does it increase memory voltage as well?
Thats a pretty high memory OC there. -
Hell, that's not even the highest. @Meaker@Sager Holds that title on stock vram at 1675 to maybe 1725. Not totally sure. And @Khenglish holds it with modding the memory chips at 1875 on vram

A new bench shot of Wprime 32M score 4.262 Sec
Not the big change from the first one, but still an improvement
. Not easy to get a much better 32M score.
@Phoenix Can you put this 32M score into the first page?

Here's one at 4.8GHz. I haven't tuned my settings up for the latest BIOS mod. Maybe when I have time I can tweak it a little more and squeeze a few more points out of it. These are the 4.8GHz settings I was using back around December and there have probably been 50 BIOS mods by @Prema I have tested since then... maybe more than 50... a LOT anyway... I stopped counting, LOL.

Here's little better... 11.63. Had to give the CPU a little more voltage. 4.8GHz.

Only for a bit. REALLY CRAZY busy at work right now. Working very long hours, unfortunately.
Time for bed... when I have more time I will have to try for 4.9GHz or 5.0GHz. I can actually run those clock speeds, however it TDP throttles down to like 4.5GHz for some reason when I go past 4.8GHz. Once in a while it tries doing that at 4.8GHz as well. Probably need to play around more with the voltage. Skylake is crazy sensitive to voltage. Just a tiny bit to much voltage and it starts throttling. Giving more watts/amps doesn't help. Already tried maxing those out.Last edited: Mar 9, 2016 -
Okay i have managed to unlock my BIOS by myself (no i wont give sny instructio s couse of prema) so i will some overclocking soon.
Repaste and CPU delid worked well! Temperature are 20 C better! Just need to test some things out! Will report later! -
Same here. 4.8 was the max clock that I could hold. Behind that, as you just said, throttles down to 4.5 or even lower.
I am guessing that there might be some kind of current limit of MOBO which I experienced on m17x R4 and m18x R2.
m18x R2 had a voltage lock, m17x R4 had a short boost power limit. -
Before going night-night, and just to make sure it was not a fluke, I rebooted and got the same score again. And, ran a Cinebench R15 as well.
