With all these guys posting they scores and praising the modded BIOS, im actually going to go all ape **** to try and unlock mine.
Just a question, how dangerous is it to flash the BIOS with the wrong setting unlocked?

Before people start bricking their systems in the hopes for some new high-scores...the results you see posted here by Prema Mod user don't simply come from some 'magical' BIOS switches...they required low level board power distribution changes and a bunch of other tweaks to get board locks out of the way.
It's really done 'under the hood' by the stuff that you don't see rather than what you can later see in the BIOS user interface...

@mT+ you may actually be lucky with your GTX970Ms in a sense that they barely touch the stock board limits. :)
Stock P870DM GTX980M+ SLI user already breach them with a tiny OC...

The difference between Intel socket vs BGA in laptops... :)
    upload_2016-3-9_11-5-25.png
It is very easy to decide whether to you want a BGA machine or not. Aka which laptop brand you should buy .

Hey when I made the old new records of 3940xm, I think I posted in some thread in this site. And I remember you clicked "like". So I knew you were gonna go after me again and you did.
Let me see... okay you left 4 records of mine and thx :)

    You are the "proper person"

And I always wanted to ask this question since 2-3 years ago.
    http://hwbot.org/submission/2347802_johnksss_cpu_frequency_core_i7_3940xm_5008.55_mhz
How did you make it 5G? Did you use any special cooling or just XTU clock and it go?

I've tried myself and the problem was that I couldn't even flash any modded bios.
So before getting worried, save your own bios without even chaning anything from stock and then try to flash it.
This wont get your laptop brick because you didn't change anything but just saved it "unchanged".
But even doing so wont let you flash.

I have the same issue at like 4.8 forward, TS Bench works fine but others it seems to throttle due to a idle voltage spike then I have to reboot to get it to come back. I felt this was due to incorrect LLC at high clocks but I haven't found that perfect setting yet but I can calm down the idle voltage.

Same here. 4.8 works fine but above that, 4.9 and 5.0 is problematic.

Hi guys, just have a random question with regards to the prema BIOS, but more specifically the vbios.

So I'm aware that to get his System BIOS installed, for the most part you have to go to system vendor (p870dm) but, with regards to the vbios , I'm running dual 980m's is it a case of we download and flash the GPU BIOSes ourselves or do they have to be flashed by a vendor too?

    Thanks

    Martin

nope everything can be flashed yourself, its just a matter of being able to get ahold of the BIOS.

I know the 980M VBIOS is out for free for the public, Make sure you select the right one, GSYNC or non GSYNC:

    https://biosmods.wordpress.com/gtx9-g/

Also, if it worked for you, please consider a small donation to Prema for his hard work so he can always give us improved BIOS/VBIOS

Bottom line is....You can't win them all. And with regards to that, i can't or wouldn't be mad. :)

And if you look at it again, it shows 4 cores and 4 threads. :)

Yeah the plan is to give him a donation . I'm talking to both eurocom and HIDEvolution ATM to see if they can get it installed, EC seem the better option ATM as they claim they can have the laptop back with me in 2 days give or take, I found the vbios for my cards (non-gsync 980m SLI ) SO I'll flash that myself later. just need to get the system BIOS installed!

Who did you buy your machine from? HIDevolution?

If it was from HIDevolution, was it a vanilla Clevo P870DM or a Eurocom Sky X9 but from HIDevolution like I did?

It was the vanilla clevo, however it's specced pretty much the same as the sky x9 minus the BIOS I believe is there much difference between vanilla p870dm and the sx9e?
    From HIDEvolution yeah.

The only ones we are beating here with our achievements is the industry who sells us the same stuff year after year while it can already perform 30% or more right here and now without waiting for just another re-brand down the road...

Yeah, but Skylake was the right step vs Haswell(at least for laptops who have sockets). Caby Lake will be a minor step forward. I7-6700Hq for laptops is a big step back. 3.1 GHz all cores isn't a step forward :D

I just wanted to say that I just purchased the Prema mod bios from Eurocom and they were brilliant, walked me through it over the phone, I spoke to Kevin on the phone after John had initially set me up with the bios.

Looking forward to messing with this laptop PROPERLY now to see what my chip can really do!
