ok... got a msg.. : a first boot NVRAM reset condition has been detected, if you continue to see this msg coonsult the bla bla ) press enter ok.
Do i need to do anything to fix/upgrade or something to the nvram?

Press enter twice.
It will reboot. Get into BIOS. Start settings things up and go easy this time.ajc9988 likes this. -

no just hit enter twice to accept the 2 messages then hit F2 when you see the boot logo to enter BIOS
first thing, change XMP profile of your RAM to XMP Profile 1 then save and exit, this will take a while
then enter BIOS and reapply the OC settings. Double check everything
you beat my by a few milliseconds

When i do your steps on the op for 45oc IA: max turbo is set to no :/
when i restarted it it stock it was set to yes but max turbo and min turbo at stock are at 0.. whats the issue here? -

I will make you a new settings of my updated ones, they will be for 4.6 GHz, all you need to do is change the multipliers to 45 on all cores and lower the voltage a bit more than mine. I'll let you know shortly -
Be gentle with him. Some people dont like being changed into settings.Ionising_Radiation likes this.

he has my same CPU (silicon lottery) and your RAM, very identical, should give him a good start point
Set your voltage to -60mV for 4.5 GHz for a start then test. Do this for both core and Ring initially
if temps were high, then lower the ring offset to -100mV and keep the core @ -60mV

I was referring to this :

That will be at no. It only goes Yes, when your Multiplier under OC section is higher and you lock it to a lower value under the CPU section.
-
so why in the heck is it throttling?
Also what should the memory clock red once I set the xmmwhatever profile 1 ? -
Try with stock voltage. No undevolt.
-
The throttling is because of something else. Is it still doing that when you are encoding?
The memory clock in Windows should read 1400Mhz for you RAM. -
Yes it goes down when encoding. but just happened a few days ago. Everything was fine. Didnt touch or mess with anything. Just happened out of the blue
-
Hmm, can you go into the BIOS and take a picture of the CPU page?
-
-
Yeah, those seem to be perfectly fine, what software are you using for encoding work ?
-
staxrip.. that has nothing to do with it because like I said. happened a few days agoafter months of working perfectly... I found out because fps were dropping dramatically at second pass and when i opened hwinfo, kboom cores throttling like madness.
Wprime with 16 threads doesnt cause anything. Cinebench either. :/Last edited by a moderator: Jun 22, 2016 -

Why is your turbo power Max at 160000 set both values to 2200000 no harm in that the CPU will only use what it needs -
@johnksss @D2 Ultima 4.3ghz 5960x. Runs under 60c on my kraken x61 quiet mode!(I can barely hear the fan) This thing have more headroom than I thought!
Clevo should make an x99 laptop. These things are great!

Hmmm I am around the same as well. Fluctuate around 1975-2050.
-
@tgipier I get a similar graphics score to John's
The GTX 1080 does seem to have some strangeness which I'm trying to get my head around. Don't know why I am getting VREL perfcaps and why when removing power limits benches consume more power but give lower scores. That's all I'll say for now as this probably isn't the right thread for it, OT. -
Is this in the AGA? Or ?
-
Remove power limits? Only one way to do that and that's to do a hard mod. Vbios mods are not an option as of yet.
-
Have you seen anyone getting this crazy stuff before?
Again this is with your 4.5 settings. Throttling like crazy -

his settings were all ok except for the Ring offset voltage it was 0. I advised him to set it to -50mV to match his CPU offset and test again.CaerCadarn and bloodhawk like this. -
Yeah, i asked him to double check that yesterday. Also from using my system, the RING and Core offsets/clocks dont really need to be the same.
Have been running that way for 2 months now and no issues so far.
But that alert in the last screen shot is for the VR's, that is not a good sign.Last edited: Jun 17, 2016hmscott likes this. -

I checked his VR PSYS MAC / Core/Ring/IA Current limits and he said all are set to 8191 which is ok.
Now regarding the ring voltage offset, I know you had no issues setting the ring different than the core offset. but just for testing now, I made them match to be on the safe side as that's how XTU has them, always tied. When he sorts out the throttling issue, we can try to reduce the ring voltage even more to bring down the temps but I find that messing with the ring is a very sensitive matter. Remember the static interference I had from the speakers when I thought the speakers were bad? turned out it was the ring overclock that caused this. -
Yeah, that is OK. But XTU has that tied to avoid user end issues. Specially with people who dont know what they are doing.
But as you say, the Ring voltage makes a lot of difference on the thermals.
Specially in my case, keeping the ring at 4.3Ghz with -150 mV (obviously subjective in my case) and core @ 4.6Ghz give me temps to max 65C-68C.

This Wprime 1024M score isn't correct for 4.5 GHz.. All to low for 4.5 Ghz!! This is Throttling.
Can you @Terrablade also post your Cinebench 11.5 score with same multi and settings?
@bloodhawk @Phoenix Do you have a former Wprime 1024M run lying with their 4.5 clockspeed?
This image showing a 1024M bench from Early tests from Fox.

I don't understand, what do you want me to correct now? from what to what?
please make it simple
Here is my wPRIME score @ 4.4 GHz:
w PRIME @ 4.6 GHz:
and just for run wPRIME @ 4.4 GHz on my previous 5930K:
-
Sorry if you didn't understand what I meant. @Terrablade said he haven't problem with Wprime 1024M or Cinebench <if I understand him correctly>. But the image showing His score is wrong for 4.5GHz.
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
ahh ok, I thought you wanted me to correct something on the leader's board
-
@Papusan cant do them right now. testing something with @Phoenix doing an encoding thats going to take prolly around 4 hours. as soon as its done GRANTED nothing goes wrong till then " crossing fingers" I will do another wprime and cinebench with screens with hwinfo.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

This was more for showing a correct score for @Terrablade
But Yeah. My Wprime 1024M score in the leader's board is showing wrong name!! Can you fix it? -

please tell me the username / score so I can correct it. I am very old and need simple instructions.
