    Press enter twice.

It will reboot. Get into BIOS. Start settings things up and go easy this time.

no just hit enter twice to accept the 2 messages then hit F2 when you see the boot logo to enter BIOS

first thing, change XMP profile of your RAM to XMP Profile 1 then save and exit, this will take a while

then enter BIOS and reapply the OC settings. Double check everything

you beat my by a few milliseconds

I will make you a new settings of my updated ones, they will be for 4.6 GHz, all you need to do is change the multipliers to 45 on all cores and lower the voltage a bit more than mine. I'll let you know shortly

he has my same CPU (silicon lottery) and your RAM, very identical, should give him a good start point

Set your voltage to -60mV for 4.5 GHz for a start then test. Do this for both core and Ring initially

if temps were high, then lower the ring offset to -100mV and keep the core @ -60mV

That will be at no. It only goes Yes, when your Multiplier under OC section is higher and you lock it to a lower value under the CPU section.

The throttling is because of something else. Is it still doing that when you are encoding?

The memory clock in Windows should read 1400Mhz for you RAM.

staxrip.. that has nothing to do with it because like I said. happened a few days agoafter months of working perfectly... I found out because fps were dropping dramatically at second pass and when i opened hwinfo, kboom cores throttling like madness.

Wprime with 16 threads doesnt cause anything. Cinebench either. :/

Why is your turbo power Max at 160000 set both values to 2200000 no harm in that the CPU will only use what it needs

    @tgipier I get a similar graphics score to John's

The GTX 1080 does seem to have some strangeness which I'm trying to get my head around. Don't know why I am getting VREL perfcaps and why when removing power limits benches consume more power but give lower scores. That's all I'll say for now as this probably isn't the right thread for it, OT.

his settings were all ok except for the Ring offset voltage it was 0. I advised him to set it to -50mV to match his CPU offset and test again.

Yeah, i asked him to double check that yesterday. Also from using my system, the RING and Core offsets/clocks dont really need to be the same.

Have been running that way for 2 months now and no issues so far.

But that alert in the last screen shot is for the VR's, that is not a good sign.

I checked his VR PSYS MAC / Core/Ring/IA Current limits and he said all are set to 8191 which is ok.

Now regarding the ring voltage offset, I know you had no issues setting the ring different than the core offset. but just for testing now, I made them match to be on the safe side as that's how XTU has them, always tied. When he sorts out the throttling issue, we can try to reduce the ring voltage even more to bring down the temps but I find that messing with the ring is a very sensitive matter. Remember the static interference I had from the speakers when I thought the speakers were bad? turned out it was the ring overclock that caused this.

Yeah, that is OK. But XTU has that tied to avoid user end issues. Specially with people who dont know what they are doing.

But as you say, the Ring voltage makes a lot of difference on the thermals.
Specially in my case, keeping the ring at 4.3Ghz with -150 mV (obviously subjective in my case) and core @ 4.6Ghz give me temps to max 65C-68C.

Interesting Sheet from Darkwizzie's Skylake Overclock thread @ OCN :

This Wprime 1024M score isn't correct for 4.5 GHz.. All to low for 4.5 Ghz!! This is Throttling.
Can you @Terrablade also post your Cinebench 11.5 score with same multi and settings?
@bloodhawk @Phoenix Do you have a former Wprime 1024M run lying with their 4.5 clockspeed?
