Guys what is a recommended turbo max power boost and a turbo max short power boost on the 6700k? mine are currently at 65.000w and 85.000w respectively.

I wish, I cant keep my temps low any higher than that!

130w, the more you give is ok, it will only use what it needs.

Some people even go as high as 160W

    I set mine to 130W

72c is a breezy day, you should try to keep it under 93c peaks, but even then those are brief thermal throttle situations that still benefit 90% of the time from higher clocks.

You've got a 95w CPU man, put the peddle to the metal and make flames come out the exhaust!!

Why don't you buy a P870DM bro and join the enthusiast bandwagon? After all, your hang around these forums more than any other.

Now its only added voltage (and higher clocks) that cause temps to increase correct? so raising the turbo power max's shouldn't affect heat output?

Yeah, Thanks Man I feel it too, I'm in the pipe - ready to go, just waiting for the right time.

Watching all of your efforts closely so I can config optimally - really hoping a 2 x 980 comes out between now and when I order my next gaming laptop.

nope, only voltage and power limits. I set me power limit to 480 which means it appears as 120.000A in XTU

Divide the power limit by 4 to get the actual value in XTU

You need to set the power limit everywhere as in the screenshots I posted, for VR Current limit, CPU/Core and Ring

I had it at 640 before as recommended by Mr. Fox by I see 480 is enough for now @ 4.4 GHz

I might up it again once I receive my new Silicon Lottery CPU from HIDevolution next week

Using your templates my system wont stay stable and temps are way up in the 90's, I'm gonna have to do some serious tweaking!

Bear in mind, my system has Liquid Ultra and the CPU is delidded, so you may have to tweak a bit to get the right settings for your setup

What thermal paste are you using on the CPU? it's not delidded right?

what are your results if you try the -150mV adaptive offset for CPU/Cache Ratio?

You need to make the Cache Ratio voltage offset tally with the value on the CPU voltage offset on a Skylake CPUs as they are tied together.

Also, for now, always leave the cache ratio at the default 41x (0 in the BIOS settings) until you find the right settings for the CPU.

Overclocking the cache yields very small improvements at the expense of more heat. CPU Speed is king as they always say, forget everything else for now.

I have the liquid ultra too, if my CPU is delidded it wasn't done by me haha. I'm getting closer, I've found settings that SEEM to work but if I try to push higher on either clocks or voltages I seem to be hitting thermal limits.

I'll post more Info later I have tweaking/research to do.

So once again hid impresses me, after emailing Ted to ask about the warranty situation I just received this reply.

Hello Martin. To tell you the truth, this was a brand new development (within last 48 hours) and I had no idea that we would even be offering our own branded custom BIOS. I was assuming you would be thrilled with the prospect of the free upgrade and was unaware that Eurocom even sells only the BIOS to end users.

If you purchased/received the BIOS from Eurocom, which would essentially be the same one that we will be installing, we will still honor the warranty for you.

We are always looking for ways to resolve matters quickly and amicably. Please let me know what we can do to make this situation right for you.

We also shipped your AC converter box today. You should be receiving it by Monday.

Pretty good result to be fair.

Do you work in the advertising industry? :p I am very impressed by what you are getting into. HID should given you a very good discount on everything you buy from them. Because costs will provide money in the bank in the end. ;)

nope, this is better than marketing which may be fake, it's called word of mouth. Make a customer mad, and he'll write about it everywhere, make a customer happy, and he'll write about it everywhere. But this is more trusted because what users post on forums comes from personal and honest experience rather than inflated marketing lies.

PS: I don't need a discount from HID, I am willing to pay more to get a system from them because of how happy they had made me with their service, quality checks, speed, and warranty.

When I ordered MY Kunshan P870 BGA Killer Edition here at home, I had to fight hard about how I wanted my machine. Finally I got this as I want it.
I am very glad that I DO NOT ordered more than 2x8GB OEM ram from them. Now I can freely determine the correct ram I want to use in this monster without spent too much money on something I do not want. I paid $ 3,750 for my machine with hardware as in sig + I have 5-year full free warranty that cost me $ 0.
There are parts for computers that are expensive here at home. Not complete machines.

I give no free publicity to a company I have to argue with. Quite simple... Maybe I should offered them to use my bench results done on their best laptop model in advertising on their website? For payment? HaHa

Hey, my Firestrike is higher than @johnksss 's.

I know that it won't last long as mine didn't include any miraculous Overclock...

    Firestrike: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/11156116?
    Firestrike Extreme: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/11156141?
    Firestrike Ultra: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/11156181?

I was trying to reach the GT-80 Titan 980 SLI with 24/7 clocks and temperatures, then I used only stock voltage.
After I CLU my GPUs I'll Overvolt them and get those truly high.

And @GTVEVO smokes me here: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/7333219

I Use to be on all of those, but in the top ten and half in the top 5, before I sold the cards...

That was just me testing physics at 4.5ghz and showing that it would lock at that speed with no movement. My real physics score is at least 20.5k

Hey guys quick question, I'm trying to set my voltage statically as I saw Mr. Fox advised somewhere, but I'm having an issue. I found what appears to be a good voltage range to try and pin down statically for my chip (I worked it out by testing with my voltage set by a -115mv offset, which under load puts my core voltage at 1.255 on the lowest voltage pulling core and 1.263 on the highest).

With this offset my temps are good and the chip is Aida stable at 4.3Ghz, here's the issue. If i try to enter those values into the bios as static voltages as opposed to an offset , my temps spike way up into the 90s before even loading the cpu??

    any ideas!?

how on earth were you able to give it a positive offset rather than a negative and keep your temps under control? I bet you didn't try an AIDA64 stress test for a few minutes....

me too, any static voltage results in my temps going high like crazy. So I always use adaptive with a voltage offset. I don't know how Mr. Fox always uses a static voltage and it works

yeah for me any overclock that doesn't pass AIDA64 is not an OC I would keep for daily use.

Ok now I'm confused. Thought I had all my settings good to go, voltage, frequency , finally getting good temps. I load up hwinfo and see that my cores are running at 4.4ish GHz (what my target is) and temps are great, then I start Aida and my cores are fully loaded but DOWNCLOCK to like 1.5 GHz, what settign could be causing this as I have an offset on the core of -120mv so I don't think it's the core voltage offset.

not enough power limits or Turbo Max

what are your current power limits / Turbo Max?

PS: did you ever think of delidding your CPU?

Running Aida now (what do you think is a good amount of time before you'd consider it 24/7 stable) now running at 4.4ghz (rarely dips to 4.398 in hwinfo)

Max temps are 81c on any of the cores after 10 mins of Aida (avg temps don't exceed 77c and that's the warmest core)

My max turbo is: 120000 in bios
Short power max is : 120000 in BIOS
    Platform power limit 1 + 2 are : 165000 in BIOS
