Kinda pathetic. I have 10715 on overall (12,584 on graphics and 12,702 physics (4.5ghz)) on firestrike, 3D11 is 14817 (16116 graphics, 12,065 physics (4.5ghz)). I know I could do better on AC, but haven't done so yet... Need to try with higher vram oc and see how far I can get on core. I kept the core and ram oc closer when I previously OC them...
Edit: Shame it's with one of those... But at least the stock firmware is better, although a shame they don't just hire him from the start and put out an awesome machine from the start...

It is tragic that the vast majority of all ODM/OEM's forcing crippled automatically (reduced) fan speed. Either full tit, or you can do this in the bios!! It is not good enough that you need to run full tit with FN + 1. The same applies, that you are forced to use custom / OC fan profile in CC. Make it in BIOS!!
Edit. Download is still crippled
Now, almost two days downtime
What a mess!!
Maybe Futuremark must adapting their 3DM benchmark even more to Win X? The Redmond Morons are sponsors, as everyone knows, LOL

Any idea on if they fixed the problem with the physics?

Im not sure where it says the highest over clocks on air wins unless you count for cards failing far earlier than need be. That's all that's going to happen with that. Just a friendly warning. You have a/c use it. Temps make all the difference in the world when over clocking laptops.
Power politics dictate policy, not the end user i'm afraid. Now what happens in the wild is a whole other matter. They could always do like Alienware did to make things that much worse. So i'm good with what's going on now.
I would just settle for full control of fans with max trip point which all of this stuff is in fact in these bios... -
Have you seen a new version?
Not me
See previous post, HaHa

That's why I stopped where I did. Just sucks with the AC being a window unit above the couch! But I'll probably do it in the next couple weeks, then wait for sub-zero overnight temps in the garage (that's where I did the 5.1ghz benching). If I can do the vrm mod by then and get a custom firmware for my card, then I should be able to get better scores... It's only 69.6 asic, but was from a decent OC early batch...

so with delid and liquid metal tim on dm3 it could run below 88c on all components?

somebody knows how to force the Overclocked Fan Profile in Control Center without installing XTU? Almost forgot i use the latest version from Clevo directly. 5.0001.0.50

It's max fan tho

afaik the overclock fan profile option only becomes available once u install xtu...

Depends on the game, environment, quality of chips in the machine and the boost clocks. -
@Meaker@Sager buddy, what's going on...No benchmark or gaming post of your new edition???

You don't need to tweak to post some update runs. The laptop pretty much runs itself.

The little time I've had over the last couple of weeks was spent either actually playing the odd game and getting the thermal pads sorted. I'll post some numbers on Monday or Tuesday hopefully.jaybee83, Johnksss, ajc9988 and 1 other person like this. -
What brand and thermal pads did you choose? I will also buy new one, but not so easy here at home.

I am coming for your DM1 scores! If my ice cold home office doesn't cut it, I do have access to a cold room. Someone woke up the monster in me.ssj92, jaybee83, CaerCadarn and 7 others like this. -
I hope you smash them all... seriously.
But, even if you don't I know you'll have a hella good time trying and that's what matters most.
What you've done already puts all turdbooks to shame, and places you in the upper echelon of awesome elitists. It really does pay to just say no to BGA filth. -
Bring it on bruh!
This thread hasnt seen any action in quite a while, hit me up if you need any help. Will try to help out whatever way i can, not as good as @Johnksss@iBUYPOWER or @Mr. Fox (psst. excluded Papusan for a reason), but i can help with the basics.CaerCadarn, Prema, Cass-Olé and 3 others like this. -

Looking good!
The drivers will definitely make a difference. For me the 372.54 J95 ones have so far performed the best.
And for 3DM11 you definitely want W7.temp00876, Papusan, Johnksss and 1 other person like this. -

@Rage Set Don't listen to the old man!!
He has probably spare parts to sell you when you blow your machine to heaven, LOL

Just bought p775dm3 and I am testing things with it.
[email protected] is OCed well enough but the clock fluctates between 4.0~4.5 during graphic tests and combined tests of 3dmark. The clock holds 4.5 during physics tests and other cpu tests.
4.6 and above couldnt be OCed well enough to use it 24 7.
Even with the stock bios memory can be oced to 3000 because now finally the memory voltage is working.
Hope prema the mighty bios is released soon. -
Why did you choose the 775 when the DM2 is just a little bit more, but has room to grow?

I am inching closer. I'm benching outside on my deck and the weather is great. 75 degrees but it feels cooler.

@Mr. Fox This computer is a freaking beast. I'm trying not to push it too hard, but the old bencher in me is coming out. I'm about to buy the DM3 for myself if I keep this up. -

Awesome stuff, bro. It's truly incredible having a 6700K laptop clocked at 4.8GHz on air when some folks with desktops think 4.5GHz with liquid cooling is something special?
Just don't go too crazy on the GPU core overclocking without AC. Intel CPUs can handle it fine, but GPUs and heat can be a deadly combination. Even when the core temps are OK there are other things that do not have temperature sensors that may not be OK. That GPU and all of its components needs to stay cool to live long and prosper. If you've got AC cooling, you'll be fine. Just max out the voltage slider to 1.275V and start bumping up the core.Last edited: Sep 4, 2016 -
Yeap. You ninja'd me. Was adding that to my post
-
@Rage Set as long as you're keeping it cool, you've got some room to grow. This was my best with 1.268V. Note the temps in the AIDA64 Sensor Panel.

-
Well I am being very cautious. I'm bumping up everything very slowly. I don't have a portable AC though but I do have my "cold room" aka home office to use. I may bring in my other AC from my bedroom into the home office to see if that offers additional benefits.
-
If other parts of the GPU starts getting too hot you'll see freezes and black screens lockups that generally coincide with the vicinity of 70-75°C core temps. If that starts to happen best to stop until you have more cold air at your disposal.
-
I need some serious cooling. I can't get pass this score.

Firestrike has bugs. Not fixed yet. The new 3DM UI steal processor cycles. Not much but a bit. You can see it also if you closely monitor your ups. This is reproduced in house at Futuremark(see pict). Confirmed by Kokko(Futuremark) in email to me. They still use same calculation formula in 3DM as I know.
Cass-Olé, bloodhawk, Rage Set and 1 other person like this. -
Gotcha!
That would explain @Rage Set 's slightly low Physics scores @ 4.8ghz.
Thank you for looking into this.
Yeah, once you start pushing +200/+400 , good cooling becomes pretty much mandatory. Even more important if your ambient temperatures are warmer than usual.
This is the highest i have gone :

I have the computer right against an AC and I still can't get the core pass 190. Memory I got to 450. I need a cooling pad to direct more of the cooled air to the intakes. My dual household fans + AC setup isn't cutting it.
-
One hint, take the bottom cover off and try to direct the airflow under the laptop directly to the heat sinks as much as possible, by propping it up somehow.
My ghetto way when i bench -

I thought about that but I didn't think it would do any good. I'll try tomorrow. My gf is giving me the Stare TM. She has kicked me out of my own house in the past, so it is time to pay her some attention. I have been benching for the past three hours.
