Thanks. I have dealing with KOKKO for about + 1 months now. I hope this finally will be fixed. My normal 4.8 GHz physics score in Firestrike is around 15525 and with the new 3DM UI down to +15200. I know physics isn't the most important in Firestrike, but I want that the physics scores shall be correct

Good advice. Run into a shop tomorrow and buy her flowers. Do it correctly Only Roses matters And minimum 10

 

What was the last good 3DMark version?

 

Every single versions before
3DM suite UI 02.01.2852 64 work as normal. I have tested 3 or 4 versions before this one for Futuremark. All of them give about same physics score. Futuremark's bench software shouldn't be payed by the Redmond Morons. Everything was screwed after Time Spy Maybe M$ have send them one of their software engineers for helping with the new bench?

 

LOL, hope they can get rid of the Spy then after some Time...

 

At least when they cooperate with the Redmond Morons. Maybe Futuremark tried to adapt their whole 3DM bench software to the new colored tile trash? (Forced by M $)?

 

I hear people say that they no longer see a score advantage by using older Windows versions for benching latest 3DMark and Pascal, so yeah...

 

When turdbooks running Windoze OS X need to look good better, no stone can be left unturned when looking for creative ways to deceive consumers. If they cannot sell crap, they just dress it up so it is more difficult to recognize the filth. The next step will be they'll do something on purpose to screw up 3DMark 11 and Vantage to dummy up the numbers to make Windoze OS X get better scores than Windows 7. Same BS shenanigans the Green Goblin has been doing for years, so no reason Micro$loth shouldn't join them in the campaign of deception and fraud.

I wonder how much they paid Futuremark to monkey with things? They did the same thing with Fire Strike under Windows 8.X so we should not have our surprised looks on our faces.

Well gentlemen, I have to get her a "toy" now, hahaha. I gave her a small tutorial on benching and I let her do a mild OC on her own and now she wants DTR. I have to do some research because I'm not spending over 2.5k for something that'll amuse her for a few days and then it will sit.

 

What do you mean by DM2? Are you asking "why I didn't buy 775dm2?"

Stock as in stock what? Bios only right, because that score is pretty high for stock gpu clocks.

Nevermind, I hadn't reran stock in a while.

 

I tried creating a cooling chamber (two chairs, the DM1 sitting on top, between the two chairs, an AC and blankets). Without taking off the bottom cover, the GPU temp dropped down to 20C but the CPU stays around 33C on idle. The last score of 136xx in Firestike was invalid though. I am going to keep playing around with the setup.

It's probably going to be a 750DM2 1070 barebone. I'll let her supply her own components under my supervision.

Yes, this we know. It was our biggest gripe going up to Windows 8 and 8.1 and now all versions of Windows 10. The cpu gets a major boost under Windows 7, but loses that boost with 3dmark.

Now that I think about it? What's wrong with you over clocking? That stock machine should be capable of 4.8 ghz and 150/500 on gpu.

 

hahahaha. She's lucky I'm not getting her an Asus BGA laptop. She wouldn't know what to do with a DM3. She's computer literate; having built her own DT about three years ago, but OC'ing and benching are beyond her. As long as her computer "works", she's a happy camper.

Note: She does read the forums due to her curiosity, but won't participate for her "fear of not knowing everything and sounding like a fool." Her own words right there.

Oh I see. I dont need sli and they have same lcd size. So I didnt have to buy p870 which is much bigger than p775.
P775 is about the size of m17x or other 17' laptops. P870 is about the size of m18x.

 

Fair enough. I would go for the P870 with a single card, just for the heavier cooling alone. But that's cool...

Anyone has any clues why on earth while playing crysis 3 my laptop keeps crashing due to overheating of 1 of the GPU's?
They are stock, no OC whatsoever



3 minutes later bam crashed... why would it do that?

 

That GPU cooler might need some attention, have you checked if it is well fitted and with a good thermal compound? Usually on high temperatures it just throttles back, but occasionally it can also crash.
Are you saying it takes 3 minutes to reach that temperature?
Would you be whiling to try a VBIOS i made for mine? I did a slight UV to try to keep it cooler. It´s your call since flashing a vbios might void your warranty.

 

took 3 minutes from the temp I posted for it to crash.. Why would it get so hot tho... fan is at overclock,,, i have a U3 with 3 3k rpm fans under it... and this is the only game that gets 1 of the GPU'S above 75..

BTW i flashed it with Prema's Vbios.. Just dont understand how such a powerful laptopwith so many cooling stuff and an old game can cause it to crash and overheat 1 GPU... I am baffled and would love someone with good knowledge of it to assist...

The GPU is getting too much voltage, cooling as a major factor and the bad yield of GM204 - 980M, This was my experience

 

For the master to overheat before the slave in the P870dm tells me right away something is wrong with the actual cooling abilities in that master position. I would start verifying the master fan is actually working in the machine, from there if nothing is found I would pull the heatsink and check the paste and assembly for any defects. FYI your voltage is stock on the prema vbios according to your screen shot displaying 1.062mv so that is not the issue. Good luck and keep us informed.

Nope. They did not fix it so to speak, but if you have a 120hz screen then you were pretty much fine.
