For some reason, when i am just browsing the internet, rm clock shows cpu going at max clock. I thought it was fine at first, but when i saw temps increasing, i got worried. It would continue to go until i completely close firefox.

I have to keep around 15 tabs open due to work (a couple for myself), but just scrolling though the tabs brings my cpu full. I am a little worried because this never happened before. Any idea why?

I have noticed the same thing from time to time after downloading the last couple of Firefox updates. The only cure seems to be to close Firefox completely and then reopening it.

Firefox just rolled out a new update today...hopefully that will eliminate the issue.

There are some reviews that say the matte is better quality than the glossy (although, this was the high def LCD, versus the 1680x1050). I'm sure the matte you got will be good enough. Lots of people actually prefer it to glossy...

What you should be worried about is that there is a new M860TU coming out. To be more precise, the W860CU comes to replace the M860TU, packing new tech and etc... Neverthless, the M860TU is still a quite amazing laptop and will be so for some time still.

Hi h0w1er, how was the process of installing a Qx9300 into your sager?

I'm thinking of installing 1 into mine as well.

    Thanks

    open the back panel...
    remove the heatsink..
the processor is located at the left side of the laptop after you remove the heatsink...
then the third is using - scredriver to loosen the processor lock...
after that you can swap the processor...

    Ok, thank you.

About the W860CU, it seems there´s always something new on the horizon and I´m tired of waiting. If I wait for that it´ll be even closer to a G300 launch from nVidia and I might be tempted to wait again.
Most people agree the M860TU is a remarkable machine and I´ve decided not to feel bad when something better is launched eventually :p

Will try that later on tonight and see if I still get some nice (as in fluid) fps.

Which drivers are you using now? I've switched from Doxx 182.05 drivers (running XP here) to the latest official nVidia one's. I get about the same 3DMark06 result. The nVidia ones do seem to increase the heat tho,
so I might switch back. I was hoping the new Cuda would make a difference.

Hmm, I'd be happy with the W860 as long as the 3.0b format lasts longer than a year, hopefully a few. Something tells me it won't knowing business' mind for money 'n all.

Also it would be great if all the new formats such as the newest Intel chipset, GT300, SATA 3, USB 3.0 all lined up at the same time.

It'll game WOW pretty much at top (minus max AA mayhap) but as you suggest, I'd wait for a few months. With the W860CU coming out you are bound to find that resellers will sell of excess stock of M860ETU's at a discount. It doesn't always happen so it maybe risky...

The Sager NP8662 was just discounted by $100-150 a week ago, and that is probably the last discount you will ever see for it.

It will still be cheaper than the W860CU, so the W860CU will just be a new model with different specifications.

Its true but the 8662 seems like a good buy none the less. As long as i can get max with this system its what i'll get. If the time comes and theres better things to get inside it then i shall get the better specs for it.

Price is very good. 2k which includes express shipping and pst and gst and that's canadian price.

I received my Clevo M860TU a couple of weeks ago and am very happy with the purchase! I bought it from Notebookguru.de and received it with a German keyboard, today my Swedish arrived and Id like to change it.

I suppose its easy to do because its hard to find a guide. The closest one I found was this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=155224

Is it that simple? My new keyboard has 5 plastic clips but at the bottom, away from the screen. Gophns advice is over 2 yeras old, is it still the same procedure?

For M86 there are 4 clips at the top, near the screen, easy to replace.

Hey all, I've just ordered the NP8662 with Windows 7 (Home) pre-installed. I'm pretty excited, but still a tad nervous about HDD temperatures. Do the Intel Chipset and Matrix drivers (mentioned often in this thread) still work in Windows 7? Are there new drivers and other temperature-lowering techniques that I should know about for Windows 7?

My Np8662 has the Matte screen and its incredible! Being able to get a matte finish on my laptop was the main reason I picked this model.

I have it hooked up to a 42" HTDV via HDMI; extending the desktop to the laptop screen. I run Wow in windowed mode, with V-sync on. I get around 60fps in Wow pretty much everywhere with all graphics on maximum settings; except for shadows, which I have two notches below max. Some zones like Grizzly Hills brings the fps down around 45-50, depending where I am. I usually get like 30fps in Dalaran during peak hours. This computer has no trouble running WoW.

Posting this as I camp for the Time-Lost Proto-Drake. :)

Great to hear! I plan to keep v sync off seeing as i like to see high numbers ^^ even if it really doesn;t matter after 60 fps.

Glad to hear it runs wow good. What exactly is ur laptop specs?
