Did you search the bios in the boot device priority? It may be disabled from boot. But you can also hit Fn+F12 (i am not sure) at windows boot-up to open it evey time you boot. This is a little annoying, but.....

Then, the only thing you can do is either start it manually when your sys boots or buy an external bluetooth. I'll keep searching for a solution, but I am not sur that i'll find anything interesting.

Hi guys need help my mute button the touch sensor one like does nothing lolz

That's because its not a mute button. It's a fan speed control. See page 32 of the manual.

I'm just looking for a powerful ATI card laptop that can support XP. I need it for my work. I was just wondering if this laptop was compatible with XP.
Thank you -

I don't see any point for it not to run under win xp. All ATi cards (most of them) do support the specific system. You can also find all the drivers you want from Sager or Clevo site.

Your system must be really powerful with a 920, ATi 5870 and 8gb DDR3-1333....

The issue isn't with the GPU, it's the laptop itself which doesn't "officially" support XP as there aren't proper XP drivers for the W860/W870/X8100.

My 8760-S1 is phase 4 shipped from XoticPc thanks Justin can't wait to open it up and give it go

What's an "S1"?
-
It's a new offering that includes:
* Model: Sager NP8760-S1 (Built on Clevo W860CU) w/ HD5870
* Display: 17.3" FHD Glossy (1920x1080)
* CPU: Intel® Core i7 820QM
* RAM: 8192 MB DDR3 1333MHz
* HDD: Dual 500GB 7200RPM
* CD: Super Multi DVD±R/RW / CDRW
* Wireless: Built In "N" WIFI & Bluetooth
So basically to better compete with the ASUS G73 on feature set. Sweet deal actually!! Released on April 14th or 15th I think...

So no sale for the W860CU?
-
W860CU don't face any decent competition at the moment as the most powerful 15" money can buy.
-

Actually the price is cheaper by almost $100 from when I bought it last month. I think.

i7 720QM, 4GB RAM, HD5870, FHD, 500GB 7200RPM HDD, Win7 Home. I think that's it, though I'm not sure what the wireless card was originally.
Right now it costs $1545 with the cash discount. I paid about 1666.64 for it in March, with the shipping and the cash discount. So it's cheaper now. -
Just got my new 8760 yesterday afternoon... was too busy playing bfbc2 to post anything
Specs:
i5 540m (cooler is better, i dont care about 1-2 fps gained by proc if i lose 3-4 due to throttling/heat)
5870m 10.3 drivers I think...
4gigs 1333mhz ram
IC Diamond paste
500gb 7200 drive (I'm gonna wait for a cheaper 256gb ssd to appear)
4x blu-ray
6300 card
Windows home premium
My temps, even while gaming with max settings, hardly go into the mid 50'sCool to the touch and my room was about 75 degrees ambient so... It is as quiet as my old laptop is...with a slight increase during gaming which I don't notice as I am too busy pwning people
$1830 but I got next day shipping...which came 3 days after shipping :O I should probably ask for a rebate for that one.
This thing is pure sexy compared to the 5 year old 12 inch lappy i was running before this! Hell, it currently beats out my home desktop by a few miles.
Only problem I am having right now is windows media center keeps giving me a "low bit rate" error despite updating it with the "fix". Anyone got a way to fix that? I use a 950q hippauge usb tuner which works perfectly in my old laptop.... -
i bought from Factor Gaming, no reply for months on my refund for exchange, not sure they are still in business. They owe me about 1K, seems like they craterd about the time I was dealing with them.
Don't recommend them for now at least.... -
Hi there,
When both NP8690 and NP8760 are configured with similar hardware, there is about $200 difference between them. Why is the NP8760 worth $200 more? better cooling? just because it's a 17" instead of 15"? Why did you guys pick the NP8760 over the other?
Thank you -
You are right! I get either $161.00 for regular price or $155.12 for cash discounted price difference in price between NP8690 and NP8760 for what I configure. So I would prefer the NP8760 because it is 17" instead of 15". Also the NP8760 has an extra HDD space for a second drive which I would want. As to cooling I could not answer because since my interest is in a 17" laptop I have not researched the NP8690. Though it is a Clevo so I would bet the cooling is pretty good.
I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on a NP8760-S1 because of it's configuration but I am still undecided between a Clevo and a Alienware. Do I want flashy or plain? Do I want single or dual GPU? -
@yutsmail for me i chose the 8760 becoz the supplier of sager in my country charges fairly good price 8690 and 8760 wif same specs have 70usd price difference only other than tat i took the 8760 coz i play wif ssd so far only got a 160gb which is not enuff for xtra files so i need a xtra hdd bay and bigger screen y not? i also prefered the design on the 8760
-
anmatheextreme Notebook Consultant
For me, the 8760 is a lot better for gaming, as it's not the same to have a 15" and a 17". Moreover, The cooling of the 8760 is better because it is bigger and it's air flow is great (I think). Also, the design of the 8690 is rather compressed and you can't put a second HDD!
-
I wish I had paid the extra ~$200 for the jump to 17". I won't make that mistake next time.
-
Well I got my 8760 today; here are the specs:
i7 820QM 1.73GHz, 4GB ram, ati 5870, 160gb SSD, 320GB 7200rpm
My thoughts are that it runs everything very nicely and it is very smooth. The only issue I have is that it seems when im in TF2 I can't bunny hop strafing left (seems to be an issue with the keyboard being able to hold down those certain buttons). Other question I have is if there is any sort of fan control on this? I had a much older clevo (the 570u or something) and pressing fn+f1 would put the fans on full.
Other than that I want to thank all of you for your input on making this purchase -
Thinking about upgrading my DVD player to a blu-ray player now that I've got a mammoth 1080p external monitor. I'm assuming the one in my machine isn't proprietary -- are there any certain specs I need to keep in mind? Anyone have any recommendations/ideas?
Thanks -
-
i have an 8690 , which should be identical to the 8760 with regards to video/bd and ive been watching bd's since i got mine back in oct09 -
-
-
The region is set to North America.But that was a good suggestion anyway.
-
If anyone has encountered an issue like this please let me know.
Thanks -

-
*update*
you were right , i reloaded all my acpi and chipset drivers and now when i press that key it slows down the fans. Thanks! -
I had never heard of FG, so I just checked out the website. It looks like they're still taking orders. -
