I thought you were super excited? If it was near by you should have made the drive to get it. Well mine gets here on Wednesday, I've already got some copper blocks that just got here today that I plan on adding to the i7 heatsink to help cool it even more.

Yea super excited but since it's coming within 24 hours, not worth driving back 20 minutes(after a funeral I was at) getting the location, then driving there with the possibility of not being able to pick it up as it is only pickupable by my friend, as it is being delivered to him.
    Also I mean 12-22 hours, lol :)
I think Im going to head off to sleep, I really cant wait anymore, sleep may help!
I swear today I spent a lot of the day just looking at pics, and reading over the kobalt benchmarks 50times. If I read correctly the 820qm is more powerful then the qx9300, good :)

I'm not 100% sure if I can land it yet. But right now, the possibility of me getting it is greatly in my favor. If I do buy it, I'll resell it to one of you guys.

You won't be able to overclock any CPU outside of the Turbo Boost range on the W860CU.

Also, you think xoticpc will accept the CPU only in the 30day moneyback?
    Thatd be great.
Also, you think youll get a connection for the gtx380? id use it for sure, and give you 10% commision :)

I'm pretty sure that the 30 day no questions asked warranty means you would need to return the entire notebook to them. Also, XoticPC or any Sager reseller will not configure a Clevo notebook without the CPU.

    K.
Is it ok with you if I sold it on ebay :)
    I assume no.
Looks like I have little purpose, is it possible(laughing while typing this) to hook a mobile cpu up to a computer? Thats a good price for the power for a desktop cpu :)

    ------edit------
Could I sell it first, then you just ship it to them? Then I give you the $200. Ebay does allow that.

An OEM 820QM sells for around $600. An ES 820QM sells for around $400. You would make a good deal if you can sell it again for over $300.

I don't dropship. My reason is because I would be responsible for any problems that would arise during transit.

Then for me it doesnt make much sense, as shipping it to canada insured would most likley cost $100(for canada you need to use express shipping, or they charge brokerage fees).
Is this a ES or a OEM?

Ill have to think about it, as I already have the cpu if you end up getting it for $200 it may just make more sense for you to sell it to someone else who needs it.Any decision on the thermal paste yet?

If I do get the 820QM, I will be selling it for $300.

I posted an update on the COG announcements. You are first in line as you never handled thermal paste before, which I find somewhat surprising. You will most likely be the recipient when I ship it out on Thursday.

I actually meant that as an insult.

I think you mean to say you never "wanted" to. Thermal paste is an essential factor in efficient component cooling. Yes, a component can operate just fine without changing the thermal paste, but it is better to take the step and properly reapply quality paste.

You will be finding yourself changing the thermal paste frequently during your first few weeks of owning your first performance notebook as I can tell you are a benchmarker about to be born. Many of us started out this way when we first owned our first performance notebook, including myself six years ago.

The reason why your HP/Compaq NC6230 stayed cool is because it is from my M38AW's generation. The Pentium M's back in the day ran a whole lot cooler than the Core and Core 2 CPU's. Also, you had an ATi X300 in that notebook and that thing barely produced any heat.

I've had three of them for various duties over the past 3 years, 1 has got Chi Mei Optoelectronics which I got just after launch. But also had a Toshiba and Samsung in the others. Samsung was the better screen but brightness wise they were all the same.

Nope. One time favors are only one time favors. I just had the pleasure of breaking the language barrier with shirleyfu1117 on eBay. I don't think we are going to see any ES 920XM's anytime soon. My original expectation of it showing up near the end of November is bust. As of now, I haven't the slightest idea of when it will show up. And if it does, there will be a whole lot of people bidding on it because of the really high demand for it right now.

Goddamn, I come on for a few minutes to check on my email and spybenj already has his notebook this early in the morning? Incredible.

Well, if you turn HT off in the bios, that'll make it show only four cores, but with HT enabled, even device manager is going to show 8 cpu's.
