Dayum, 330? that's Apple quality.
-
I never knew it was 330 nits, that's impressive. What brand is the display? -
WOOT!
My laptop could arrive within 24 hours!
It will arrive within 24-34 hours -
haha so you might get it on Tuesday? Dude you paid overnight shipping and I did standard ground, that's hilarious. -
Nah, 24hours would be 9AM monday, 34 would be 7PM monday
I almost went to pick it up today, but then forgot which area it was in and couldnt be bothered. -
I thought you were super excited? If it was near by you should have made the drive to get it. Well mine gets here on Wednesday, I've already got some copper blocks that just got here today that I plan on adding to the i7 heatsink to help cool it even more. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Lock and load, boys and girls. T-minus 72 hours until the Asus/Clevo war begins.
-
Yea super excited but since it's coming within 24 hours, not worth driving back 20 minutes(after a funeral I was at) getting the location, then driving there with the possibility of not being able to pick it up as it is only pickupable by my friend, as it is being delivered to him.
Also I mean 12-22 hours, lol
I think Im going to head off to sleep, I really cant wait anymore, sleep may help!
I swear today I spent a lot of the day just looking at pics, and reading over the kobalt benchmarks 50times. If I read correctly the 820qm is more powerful then the qx9300, good -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
If I play my cards right, I may just get my hands on a 820QM for $200. Any one of you fine gentlemen want one?
-
See that could've saved me $
If I can return my cpu ill take it
If its free Ill take it
If my CPU breaks from attempting to overclock Ill take it
-----edit-----
If I can sell it on Ebay Ill take it -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
I'm not 100% sure if I can land it yet. But right now, the possibility of me getting it is greatly in my favor. If I do buy it, I'll resell it to one of you guys.
You won't be able to overclock any CPU outside of the Turbo Boost range on the W860CU. -
Soviet I said attempt
Also, you think xoticpc will accept the CPU only in the 30day moneyback?
Thatd be great.
Also, you think youll get a connection for the gtx380? id use it for sure, and give you 10% commision -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
I'm pretty sure that the 30 day no questions asked warranty means you would need to return the entire notebook to them. Also, XoticPC or any Sager reseller will not configure a Clevo notebook without the CPU.
-
K.
Is it ok with you if I sold it on ebay
I assume no.
Looks like I have little purpose, is it possible(laughing while typing this) to hook a mobile cpu up to a computer? Thats a good price for the power for a desktop cpu -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Is it okay with me if you sold the CPU or the notebook on eBay?
No, it is not possible. -
The CPU that I buy from you
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
After I sell the CPU, I would have no attachment to it. You can do whatever you want with it.
-
Do you think I will be able to sell it for more than $200 soviet?
------edit------
Could I sell it first, then you just ship it to them? Then I give you the $200. Ebay does allow that. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
An OEM 820QM sells for around $600. An ES 820QM sells for around $400. You would make a good deal if you can sell it again for over $300.
I don't dropship. My reason is because I would be responsible for any problems that would arise during transit. -
Then for me it doesnt make much sense, as shipping it to canada insured would most likley cost $100(for canada you need to use express shipping, or they charge brokerage fees).
Is this a ES or a OEM? -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
OEM. 10char
-
Ill have to think about it, as I already have the cpu if you end up getting it for $200 it may just make more sense for you to sell it to someone else who needs it.Any decision on the thermal paste yet?
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
If I do get the 820QM, I will be selling it for $300.
I posted an update on the COG announcements. You are first in line as you never handled thermal paste before, which I find somewhat surprising. You will most likely be the recipient when I ship it out on Thursday. -
I've never handled it as I've never needed to.
I'll take that as a compliment -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
I actually meant that as an insult.
I think you mean to say you never "wanted" to. Thermal paste is an essential factor in efficient component cooling. Yes, a component can operate just fine without changing the thermal paste, but it is better to take the step and properly reapply quality paste.
You will be finding yourself changing the thermal paste frequently during your first few weeks of owning your first performance notebook as I can tell you are a benchmarker about to be born. Many of us started out this way when we first owned our first performance notebook, including myself six years ago. -
Can I take that as a compliment?
Also my laptop before stayed below 50c at all times, really amazing. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
You can take it as a compliment, but you'll look retarded doing so, haha.
I'll spare you the request for details regarding your previous notebook. -
Wed evening would be great. I'll have my Clevo setup by then. I got dibs on killing Sach. -
Whats happening in asus/clevo wars?
I'll pull out my hacks while doing so! (joking... or am I?)
It was a HP somethingnc6230.
I have no idea how it stayed so cool, but it did. -
