:), you know my opinion on it. Maybe we can get some people who have this combination and see what they say after getting some use on it.

I recently installed windows 8 x64 on my P150EM and the fan ALWAYS SPINS.
Not always at the same speed tough, but always, even when I turn the cooling to passive in the energy management. :(
It's really annoying, anyone has a solution?

I also agree. Enduro should not affect the screen quality at all. I went with the upgraded 95% and love it. I didn't have to set any special profiles to see an improvement. I just did a clean windows 7 install, used the driver CD, and was good to go.

Battery life might suffer a tiny bit since the upgraded screen uses a little more power than the regular screen. It's not noticeable though since the CPU and GPU will be the major players. I still get about 4 hours on the Hotkey Power Saver with Wifi on.

Do you have an Nvidia card? I believe you may need to update either the Vbios or the Bios.

Edit: I forgot to specify lol, is it your CPU or GPU fan spinning constantly?

Both, and I have an ati 7970 (hard enough to find drivers as is...) I'm using the latest drivers, but where can I find the update for vbios or bios? (what's the difference between vbios and bios? :s ) Thanks anyway!

Edit: BIOS as well as KBC/EC version is 1.00.04.

A Bios controls the motherboard and everything attached to it, the video bios or vbios is what controls the GPU.

I'm pretty sure the Nvidia 680m and others have issues with Windows 8 and fan profiles, especially when waking up from sleep or hibernation. AMD may have the same issues. I think at the root though, it's a windows 8 issue.

Need some help. Updated bios to latest stock found on prema, BIOS 17 ec 11, and it flashed okay and is verified in system bios.

However, now my windows install bsod on boot up. Tried resetting CMOS cable, tried system restore and startup repair.

Haven't reinstalled yet as I was hoping to save the system. Any ideas? Should I revert to a different ec/BIOS? If so, which?

You likely need to check your SATA option and change it from AHCI or RAID.

Not a problem, you might want to look into IDE/AHCI as I think you can change your OS install from IDE to AHCI and it offers certain improvements.

An OS will only work if you set that to how it was when you first installed it otherwise.

Anything beneficial for the stock hdd though? I know it was for my old SSD for trim or something.

Already switched it to AHCI now. Not sure why I never put it on here in the first place when I installed OS. :p

Hello there, I have been having a couple regular issues with my 9150. The first is dropping of Bluetooth devices spontaneously and also after waking up from sleep. This usually requires a reboot to get them to work again,

Second is a periodic freezing of the computer when plugging in a USB device. Doesn't matter what it is, but once in a while when you start to plug it in the monitor will just go blank and the HDD light will just go off requiring a force shut down.
I have not noticed this problem during my evaluation of the 9170.

Laptopvideo2go.com drivers? I use that site and all of the beta drivers are on there for easy installation. I know guys like dox on their forums do custom drivers and things. If you aren't comfortable in using safe mode if you have a 1 in 1 million bad driver install then stay clear... otherwise keep downloading. I'm very rarely on the official whql drivers

I'm having a problem with catalyst 13.1 for my 7970m. I downloaded them from AMD, but when I install them, chose custom, I can only select the install manager and something else, CCC isn't in there, neither are the drivers, nor the other ussual stuf. When I donwloaded the ones from clevo and installed them without problem, I can play bf3 on ultra on good fps and see that my 7970m is being used, but all the other games won't use it. I can't open CCC with the clevo drivers, I get the message: Catalyst control center won't start. There are no options to be configured in CCC.

please help, I'm tired of ati stupid driver udpates that don't work><

    Font problem.png

Can anyone tell me how to change that horrendous font in the window dialogue box, which is quite different from the default Windows 7's Segoe UI?

Right click on Desktop or go through Control Panel to Personalize -> Window Color and Appearance -> Advanced Appearance Settings

In the drop down box is each settings where you can set the Font style and size.

There should be an option for Segoe UI or whichever you want

Thanks for the reply. I've tried that and everything that has the font selection drop-down list already has Segoe UI selected, which is strange. Anyone knows what accounts for such behaviour and how I can correct it?

I'm on Day 2 with my NP9150 and I must say....I love this thing so much already. Definitely best purchase I've made in awhile. I was playing some Grand Theft Auto 4 with it hooked up to my tv screen, and using my 360 controller....I can tell I'm going to have a blast with certain games that come out that I don't use mouse and keyboard for normally. Put all the settings on high for GTA 4 as well, and no sort of lag. It handled it without any effort. I'm really impressed as to where laptops have gone. Usually my father or someone else would get a laptop and I'd be the one always with a desktop but now....this thing is beautiful. I'm in love! :p

Is the dialogue for a specific program or is a Windows dialogue?

The screenshot looks like it was from a specific program and they can have their own fonts.

To be honest I was expecting a lot worse out of the sound card but it's not that bad as everyone says in my opinion. Then again, when I wait for something I don't have high expectations for certain things. It's good enough to me for listening some music and playing some games with head phones. Speakers are good enough for me when I sit back and don't want to use my headphones. I don't have high standards for speakers usually so this is good enough for me. When I do my audio work I don't use the built in sound anyway, I use my audio interface with some studio monitors.

It appears for most program installers but not for native Windows popups. Maybe this has something to do with the Unicode settings?

Edit: Hmm it seems like it's due to the a bug with scaling of font at 125%. The first thing I did when I got the laptop was to switch the scaling back to 100% but it seems like many dialogue boxes are still stuck at the 125% level while other Windows elements are correctly scaled. I've tried toggling it back to 125% and then back to 100% but to no avail. Any ideas?

    Dear Experts,

could you please help me out with some elemental questions, since I am quite a noob? :)

I am looking for a standard office laptop for my daily work at my company (BYOD). We mainly use Microsoft Office 2010, Dreamweaver CS 6 for website editing including pictures and all kinds of most updated internet browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome) for translations and documents.
We don't do any 3D pictures or movies playback, creation or editing. We do play Full HD movies and DVDs occasionally, but there are no tasks that really require an extra GPU. So actually, my requirements could be easily covered by a high end ultrabook.

Due to the reasons of price, easy to maintenance and upgradeablity, I am very interested in buying the P150EM with following specifications:

15.6" FHD 16:9 "Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Anti-Glare Sager Screen w/ 95% NTSC Color Gamut (1920x1080)
    3rd Generation Intel® Ivy Bridge Core™ i7-3630QM (2.4GHz - 3.4GHz, 6MB Intel® Smart Cache, 45W Max TDP)
Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 --> No extra GPU
    8GB - DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (2 SODIMMS)
    256GB Crucial M4 mSATA SSD
Remove DVDRW Drive and Install Optical Bay Hard Drive Caddy Only --> I already have an external optical USB drive
    Sager - Intel® Ultimate-N 6300 - 802.11A/B/G/N Wireless LAN Module

    Here are my questions:
    1) Is it OK to leave out any extra GPU from the laptop? Or does the laptop require one in order to function without any compatibility problems? What happens, if I leave the GPU sink 'empty'? Any heat or noise issues?
    2) Can I just use and work with the integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPU which should be sufficient for my daily work?
    3) Can I just use my 256GB Crucial mSata SSD drive for everything (Cache, OS & storage)? Does the Bios recognise this?
    4) Or do I have to add another storage drive (SSD or HDD)?
    5) Can I easily install Windows 8 Pro including drivers on my mSata drive?
    6) Can I easily add an extra GPU later, if I need to? Or will I have any compatibility or driver issues?

I am thankful to everyone who reads my post and is willing to help me.

    Cheers and best regards!

    Hey

For these it HAS to have a GPU in the GPU slot, it can't just run off the HD4000 without something in there, the laptop shuts down. So you have to have a GPU in there.

THe rest of your questions are just fine and it'll work without issues.

I would recommend a np9130 then with a 3630qm and 660m, unless GPU upgrading in the future is really important.

You can check the info in the CCC look for the help or about.

The latest drivers come direct from AMD, they should be installed ON TOP of your drivers, DO NOT remove them before installing the newest ones.

    Hi guys!

I am currently looking at a XMG P502 (P150EM) barebone, since my Thinkpad bit the dust.
I tried searching this thread, but could not find a definite answer.

If i understood correctly, the HM77 Chipset supports Sandy Bridge CPUs. Since i have a spare i7 2920XM, are there any
issues or drawbacks sticking this sucker into a P150EM? (Other than it being a bit slower than the Ivy Bridge counterparts.)

    Thanks!
