Yep, it loads the default blue color and then it kicks in to my presets. But it comes on even if I had them turned off on shutdown.

Mine too. Don't think we can do anything about it. Simple fix, use the hotkey and turn it off. Takes 3 seconds. Works for me.

Since it's not supported by clevo or steelseries I would not expect it tbh.

i actually ordered a sleeve from Amazon....
Amazon.com: HDE 17" Widescreen Laptop Notebook Sleeve Carrying Flip Case Bag for Fujitsu, Samsung, Dell, Acer, ASUS Eee PC, Gateway, HP, Sony, Compaq, IBM, Mac, Sharp, Toshiba models: Computers & Accessories

I know it says for a 17" laptop, but the 9150 fits nicely in it, i was happy with the price too...

    Folks,

I'm having an issue with my NP9150 that I can't nail down. It has to do with Optimus.

    Quick specs:
    Win 8 64-bit
    Nvidia GTX 675MX
    Intel HD 4000

I came home from vacation yesterday. I hadn't used the laptop since last Thursday, but my wife had been using it for homework. The laptop was working great on Thursday. Today after I start a game, it runs fine for a few minutes and then I start to get a lot of choppiness (every half a second I get a short pause).

It may be coincidence but this happened after I installed MS Office Suite 2007 for her.

I've done some investigation using nvidia settings and GPU-Z.

I've got all my games to manually select the nvidia card, but if Ieave the global settings on auto, I get the choppiness. However, if I change said global setting to the nvidia card, I do not get the choppiness. Naturally I don't consider this to be very efficient and would rather leave it on auto.

I've found that unless I have it set to globally use the nvidia card, that the nvidia card never goes under much load, but the integrated Intel chip is under almost full load. I'm assuming this is the bottleneck, even though it shouldn't be using that GPU.

Note that once this choppiness starts, it doesn't go away unless I reboot or switch the global setting to the nvidia card. It also effects youtube videos, web chats (e.g. gmail chat), etc.

Has anybody here experience this before with Optimus? If so what steps did you take to resolve?

EDIT: Re-installed the Intel drivers and it seems to be working? So far, at least. I will monitor it, but am still curious to hear if anybody else has seen this. I'm aware there was mention of it in this thread, but don't recall where and trying to find which string to search this thread for is needle-in-a-haystack-esque.

    So close lol.

I've had my 9150 for about a year now and have had no issues or complaints. Within the last week the Y key on my keyboard is becoming a little flaky. It works fine if you tap it in the top half of the key (upper left and right) but nothing happens if you tap anywhere in the lower half. Anyone else have anything like this happening and is there anything to try and fix it outside of replacing the keyboard? There is nothing wedged between or in the keys. Thanks for any suggestions

    Why on the copper cooling?

32GB of RAM is just to never ever have a program have an issue for the life of the machine. Not of the games of this summer...but the games 3 summers from now.

Though your copper cooling one interests me.

No need to do Msata in addition to an SSD. Just use that money to get a larger SSD.

The copper cooling mod, as far as I'm aware, has next to no effect and you could do it yourself for a few dollars off eBay.

it doesnt really lower your over al ltemps (maybe 1 or 2c) but what it does is increase the time it takes until you hit your highest temp.

About two weeks I received the PowerPro R 11:36-675 (MSI MS-16F3) and returned because I did not like the build quality on it and according to the reseller's web site at time of order it had a 4GB Geforce GTX 675MX, but mine came with the 2GB version (recently they changed the specs to the 2GB GPU). Last week it arrived to the reseller and I had them to order the NP9150-SE as an exchange. The NP9150 SE that I ordered has the following specs as:
15.6” Full HD 16:9 Wide screen (1920x1080) LED-Backlit Display with 95% NTSC Color Gamut Matte Screen
    nVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M 256bit w/4.0GB GDDR5
    Intel Core i7-3630QM (2.4~3.4GHz) w/6M L3 Cache - 4 Cores - 8 Threads
IC Diamond Thermal Compound - CPU + GPU
    16GB (2x8GB) DDR3/1600 Dual Channel Memory
750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive
Combo Dual Layer DVD +/-R/RW CD-R/RW Drive w/Softwares
7-in-1 Memory Card Reader (All versions of MS + SD/MMC)
    Built-in Intel® Centrino® Ultimate-N 6300 Wireless Card
    8 Cell Smart Lithium-Ion Battery 76.96Wh
Full Range 180W Auto Switching AC Adapter
    Sager Logo
1-Year Parts and Shipping plus Lifetime Labor and 24/7 DOMESTIC Toll Free Support (Labor & Support paid by PNB)

I have a few questions on the NP9150 SE:
    1. Should I purchase the Samsung 840 Pro 512GB SSD for the OS and games?
    2. I paid with my American Express for the laptop and I want to know if I should I buy the SquareTrade 2 year extended warranty or take advantage of my American Express free extended warranty (starts when the manufacturer's warranty ends)?
    3. I read that the on-board sound in it is not good, which USB sound card do you recommend?
    4. Is the GPU in this laptop better than the upcoming PlayStation 4?

I hear that it pulls the heat away from the GPU and CPU but idles it in the rig. Will this be safe without a laptop cooler? I will likely always game ontop of a laptop cooler pad so I figured it'd be beneficial. But if there's no place for the heat to escape i might have to reconsider the option.

Now that you got me worried and looking into it more I am going to see if I can swap up to the 750GB Hybrid Drive instead of the copper upgrade. It'll net them more money and me a SATA II To SATA III upgrade. Think that might be worth it.

It works best with increased air flow such as putting a cooler under it. It'll still be fine without, maybe just raise the back of it up a bit, but it doesn't have a negative impact on the cooling itself.

I sent Courtney an email...to see if we can swap the drives in place of the copper. I'd just be too worried about idling heat longer without airflow if I was away from a cooling pad. Hopefully we can get the swap for the HDD in before the order is sent to phase 2.

Hi guys, I own NP9150 i7-3160QM + 7970M. When I play game, GPU temperature was sometime increased up to 90C average around 80C++. Is this temp consider normal? What is your GPU temp when gaming?

Those are normal temps, nothing to worry about. They could be a little lower then 90C but 80C is normal. Consider opening up the bottom of the computer and cleaning out any dust in the fans and vents as that can cause higher temps.

    Just got my P150em with a HD7970, i7-3612qm, 16GB of RAM and 120GB SSD + 500GB HDD.
I'm typing from it now :)
Still installing the drivers and stuff but I'm expecting to be highly satisfied with this purchase.

Edit: I can't get the HD7970 to work. The drivers from the included CD are installed, the device shows as working in Device Manager, but Catalyst Control Center doesn't seem to detect it, and when I try to configure switchable graphics CCC just closes.

I can't open CCC at all now - after I clicked switchable graphics from within CCC it closed and hasn't worked since, even after uninstalling and reinstalling the driver.

    Any advice?

    Based from my experience,
    1. Download Intel HD4000 and Catalyst 13.5 WHQL.
    2. Uninstall both Intel HD4000 then restart computer.
    3. Uninstall 7970M drivers then restart computer.
    3. Install HD400 driver and restart computer.
    4. Install Catalyst 13.5 WHQL and restart computer.

Everthing should be fine. In case you still cannot open CCC, just install Catalyst 13.5 over it one more time, Then, everything shall be fine. I hope you got it work soon.

    Good luck

I tried the 13.5 earlier, and while it did seem to work, Dolphin ran very slowly (0.5 FPS) so it didn't seem to be switching to the dedicated GPU. I'll try to do it in that order. (with the newest Intel driver)

Edit: Doesn't seem to work at all with the DX9 plugin now, it just shows a black screen.
The DX11 plugin runs very well though (fullspeed at 1080p with 0 frameskip and only occasional slowdown) so that confirms that the HD7970 is being used :D Thanks for the tip!

    Also, another thing:
For some reason, the laptop seems to connect to my N wifi at only 130mbps, is this a limitation of the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 wifi card?

Edit: I solved it by going to the device advanced properties and setting 802.11n Channel Width to Auto instead of 20mhz only. It's connected at 270mbps now :) There's a tip to anyone else having the same issue!

It sure will. What you'll want to do is back up the .icc profile in its windows directory and replace it back in there after you get the OS reinstalled.

I know in Win 7 it was located here. \Windows\system32\spool\drivers\color

So I remove it from the original HDD and when I get windows installed on my SSD I replace the .icc file? Then a reboot and its collaborated?

Thanks. By the way you guys have great service!!

Once you install the drive and reinstall the OS you need to put the backed up folder back in the same spot, then right click on the profile you want to use and tell Windows to use it.

That works fine but now I have another issue.
The Windows System Assessment Test crashes for some reason. Any suggestions?
DxDiag doesn't allow me to run any tests so that's not of help either.

That combined with the still-crashing DX9 in Dolphin makes me think there's still something rather wrong.

Edit: It crashes at "Assessing Windows Media Decoding Performance". I tried uninstalling the GPU accelerated transcoders, but that didn't help.

Have you check GPU and CPU temp? Seem like you have some dx9 conflict issue. The last resort is to reinstall windows. If still not solve the problem, you may consider to contact the vendor.

Hello Clevo Community! First timer here, i've been reading the forum here and found it very helpful so so far!
Ive recently bought a new/used P150EM model that came with a 3630qm and a 7970m, im currently in the
process of getting better ram and a SSD for the machine and im trying to upgrade everything i can think of.
Next on my List would be a HD Matte type screen, my current is a glossy type. would there be a top of the
line 15.6 inch screen i should look for? I have not read anything here yet, but if i could see some options that
would be very helpful. I've been led to believe that some are better then others just would like to clarify.

    Thanks for your time,
    Tes~

You should look for a 95% NTSC Color Gamut Matte LCD (AU OB156HW01 V4). We have them available, as do several of the resellers here on the forum.

    Where are you located?

Yup, pretty much any of the resellers here are going to be offering that 95% gamut screen and it really is a beautiful one. Highly recommended for sure which I'm sure will be seconded by the community here. The 7970m cards are getting kind of scarce so I'd definitely recommend moving into ordering one quickly if you're able to find the option available.

Thanks for all your help :)

    and
i originally said 7070m that was a typo on my part.
i do have the 7970m that's what made it a "yes" for the machine, and i am looking forward to using it, i have read in the past there was a few driver issues but that seems to be straightened up a bit now

So to clarify, this is regarding a system you already have?

Resellers aren't allowed to discuss pricing on the forums, but if you contact our service department they can offer you pricing on that particular screen.

    Hello Everyone!

I would like to get a census going on here! My goal is to make a P150EM with a decent boot time, and what hardware/software they use to get there.
Would anyone like to share there boot times and specs?

Would be nice to get a end result, so i could upgrade my system around the results, and so could any one else in the Owners Lounge.
i would share my specs but im in the process of building my own system.
Thank you for the consideration and your time!
    Tes~
