I had also problems with BSOD's and thought that my graphic-card was damaged. After some browsing the internet I found something in an amd drivers faq ( AMD Graphics Software and Drivers FAQ), which recommends that the old driver should be completely removed. I did it like in my last post explained and after that I never saw a BSOD on my lappy again. ;)

Sorry about the very late response. The temps seem fine, and the Win7 install is fresh and I have been trying everything to get it to work (including reinstalling Win7 twice) but I am going to try the 13.4 AMD drivers as well as the previous Intel driver now as they supposedly work better.

Make sure you are setting then to high performance. Right click desktop and choose switchable graphics, or in CCC go to power, then switchable graphics.

^ Try installing or reinstalling Microsoft Netframework 4

If that does not work, delete all your video drivers and ati software, restart and reinstall starting with the Intel Driver First.

Yeah make sure .net 4 is installed, then I would recommend reinstalling drivers in this order.
    1. Uninstall Intel HD Drivers, reboot.
    2. Uninstall AMD drivers, select express uninstall ALL AMD, reboot.
    3. Install Intel HD Drivers, previous version as new one may cause issues, reboot.
    4. Install your choice of AMD drivers. 13.4 is proven stable but there has been good and bad feedback on 13.5beta 2 and 13.6 beta. Reboot.

Let us know if it helps at all.

Just be aware that should your machine crash at the wrong moment... you will loose delayed write information and any information stored on the cache as it is temporarily stored on the main system memory. System memory wipes upon reboot and is mostly unrecoverable upon system crash.

I wrote some stuff about FancyCache and Primo RamDisk (both from Romex) about 450 pages back somewhere as I used them for a while.

Primo I used to boost the speed of the page file by placing it on the RAM disk. I eventually removed Primo from the system then reduced the page file to 500mb instead as a better solution. This forces the system to retain information in active memory instead of storing to disk. In turn this means that the information is not being processed in and out of the RAM disk or hard disk. The 500mb page file is to allow crash dump information to be written god forbid that the blue screen should appear! Note that I have 32gb Ram on my machine though (due to virtual machining and multitasking) so I never run out of memory which would cause the machine to crash if there is no additional space ie the page file.

I also removed FancyCache... primarily as I had a crash and lost key files from Windows 8 OS which had to be reinstated from the set-up disc. I also realised that the feel of the laptop was not improved (beyond a benchmark) as for start-up and running windows applications most of the noticeable operations involve read and not write. Note that I use a OCZ Vortex 4 which already has standard write and write of 550MB/s.

Hey guys, got a new Sager NP9150, specs are down below, the rig is excellent

A minor problem, when I type shift+2, @ should pop out, instead I get ".

I heard this is a problem with the BIOS but I'm not sure if it's right. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also, I know the Sager BIOS is locked so you can't overclock it and stuff. Does anyone know how to unlock it? I got a lot of cooling features

added and would like a bit of overclocking. If not, some turboboosting.

    Thanks!

I would contact your reseller as that is possibly a crossed connection or other hardware issue. You can try some key rempaping utilities but in the past they've proven not to work. Haven't seen anybody try it on the SM models though.

If anyone is interested in getting the 780m to work in the P150EM then take a look here:

    GTX780M FUNDRAISER | Prema Mod

Might be worth dontaing a few bucks if you want to upgrade.

    Hello everyone.

Bought my 150em 1 month ago via Ebay from computerupgradeking.

Today when i got back from the doctor, i turned on my laptop and it simply didn't boot.

The three leds (Caps Lock, Scroll Lock and Num Lock) Started blinking (sometimes 6, sometimes 7 times) and then the laptop turns off itself.

    I have Core i7-3729QM / Nvidia GTX 680M and 16Gigs DDR3 RAM 1600Mhz

I never went overclocking and never changed BIOS. All factory original.

Ive already tried booting it without RAM and without HD (both ssd and HD). Same issue.

I don't know how to exacly clear the CMOS. I tried taking the battery (the little round one inside the laptop board) and then 40 seconds later putting it back on. Have i proceeded correctly?

Thank you very much for your attention.

I've got a question for European owners of the P150EM, has anyone found a way to force max fans without a BIOS mod, is it possible to open up Afterburner and change the fan control or something like that?

No they do not unfortunately. But Haswell isn't much faster than Ivy, the biggest pro is the lower power consumption during load.

Is anyone having problems with the key retainer clips? Today I found a second one broken out of nowhere (I had a first one that cracked on its own on the opposite side of the keyboard, a few months back), and it broke in the same spot (top left clip, chassis side).

Just picked up a 9150 2nd hand. Swapped it for my desktop.

Overall, 8/10 so far. Not happy with the keyboard. That includes the trackpad placement and some of the keys sticking.

But my main disappointment is the complete lack of bass on the unit through the headphone jacks.

I'm a bass enthusiast, I love my Hardstyle, Electro House... Anything I can do about the lack of bass? Will a sound card help?

EDIT: Turned on Bass Boost in the Audio Control Panel. A bit of an improvement but still not what I'm looking for.

A USB sound card will help you get much better sound. I do like the Asus Xonar sounds cards and there is a USB one too.

    hye guys.

my current p150em processor is intel 2670qm 2.2 Ghz. I'm thinking to overclocked it to 2.8 GHz by using MSI afterburner. By overclocking, do any problem may arise?suggestions are welcome.

It depends on how much you will overclock the CPU, but it may occur in some heat problems and system instability, but i think that the P150EM usually do a great job cooling down the system, as far as you keep the fans clean and have some good thermal paste correctly applied on the CPU, but hey, i'm not an expert in this area...

You actually wont be able to overclock that CPU at all the 2670QM has its multiplier locked. MSI Afterburner doenst overclock the CPU, it over clocks the graphics card. If you're after better gaming performance that is want you want though. Just make to stress test properly for stability and temps.

The machine is second hand, but I am very pleased with the build quality and performance. Pushed the 675mx to 1050/1300, and it can handle just about any game I can toss at it.

The other day window 7 pushed down Internet Explorer 10, I was forced to uninstall this update as AuthenTec TrueSuite will not work with IE10.
The company website has no fix for this. So we are stuck with IE9 till it gets fixed.

Okay friends, I haven't been following this thread since last august when school started. I was having absolutely miserable overheating/FPS issues with my NP9150 and AMD 7970M combo. Has there been any progress with the drivers? Last I heard, AMD promised to take a look at the issue but had not really made much progress.

Additionally, I discovered that my HDMI outlet is only transmitting visuals, with no sound. Has anyone else encountered that issue and figured out how to solve it? At the moment I have to use an HDMI cable for the visuals, and a jack into the headphone audio slot from a separate surround sound system to get audio. This is obviously not how it should work.

    Thanks!

You might try checking your fans and making sure they are cleaned out and that the back of your laptop is getting an adequate amount of air.

I believe the latest drivers have been helping but I am not sure. As for the HDMI issue, I believe you right click on your volume icon (or go to Control Panel -> Sounds) and set the HDMI output as your default Playback device.

I own one of these amazing machines and I live it minus a few minor issues.

I use it for audio recording and Mythlogic's rep said the firewire chip would work with audio devices...it does not! I absolutely love the machine minus that and it's moderately poor sounding speakers/sound chip.

Question1: Where is the best place to buy a new screen bezel? Mine has weird spots on it and I don't want to send it to be fixed for something so trivial.
Question 2: Anyone know if there will be a 15" model like this in the near future with Thunderbolt? Since it is backward compatible my audio hardware should finally work and I can sell the used mac I bought when I found out the firewire chip in this thing is terrible.

What is the best place to get replacement/upgrade parts for these systems.

    Last question is for Mythlogic:
Where the heck do I get BIOS updates?? I see that there are some available in vanilla form but none of there is no link for a BIOS download at all on my support page when I log-in with my username on their site.

I just want to close with the statement that this is the best machine I have ever owned! Mythlogic was honest and helpful when I purchased the system and tried to answer all of my questions! They offered to fix the bezel and take the hit on the labor. I would only have to pay for parts! I just think it's silly to ship it out for only that. Thay have been great and the only thing they screwed up was telling me the firewire chip would work for audio/video. Overall I had an excellent buying experience with them and I am very happy with the computer's performance and the screen is absolutely amazing!!! Bright with beautiful colors and no ghosting! (95% color Gamut Matte Screen)

Yeah with those firewire cards you want to be sure they are based off the TI chipset otherwise there are delay issues based off what we have been hearing on our side. Not aware of an available laptop that features that myself, but generally what needs done is getting a express card based firewire setup that is based off that TI chipset.

I'm sure Myth can hook you up with a bezel replacement without sending the machine back in, just contact them and see what they can offer.

Doubtful that yet another revision will come out so soon from Sager, and Asus has dropped support of their 15" models as of this gen, so the only hope would be for an MSI based system but I haven't heard any reports on whether it'll resolve the issues you have if it's also not the right chipset and causes delays.

    Derek,

Thank you for all of that information! Very helpful! I am very hopeful that Thunderbolt will take off because I would prefer to have one laptop and one desktop. Right now I have three laptops and I have to cut down.

    Again thanks for the info!!

After finding zero BIOS mods for the P150EM version of 7970M (Specifically, Enduro-enabled) I decided to take matters into my own hands, and since it was a smashing success I figured I'd share it with you folks. Currently I've only got undervolted ones as my personal itch was less fan noise and not more performance, but if there's interest I might add overvolting or modified clocks.

    P150EM-7970M-VBIOS.zip

Flashing procedure (Entirely at your own risk):

    1) Disable ULPS, then reboot.
    2) Grab ATI Winflash 2.3.0 and start it.
    3) Make sure the checksum of the current BIOS is 0xC400. If it isn't, flashing any of these might brick your card.
    4) Click on Load Image and select the new BIOS, making sure its checksum is 0xC500. If it isn't, your download failed or something. Grab it again and don't flash until the checksum lines up.
    5) Click on Program, then reboot when it asks you to.
    6) Do whatever stress-testing you want, and repeat steps 4-6 until satisfied.
    7) Re-enable ULPS, then reboot.

I'd recommend starting out with the 1.000V version and working yourself downwards from there, running a Kombustor/Furmark test for about an hour inbetween decreasing voltage. As an anecdote, my card settled at 79C (20C ambient) with the 0.950V BIOS, without max fans kicking in.

Keep in mind that this will only work on a P150EM, and while it may work on a P170EM I don't have one available for testing.

I'm curious to try this out. But my current BIOS is 0xF400, not C400 so I'm skeptical to try it. Hope somebody else reports back with some information!

    Hello all,
I wanted to see if anyone had experienced this: the rubber feet of the battery tend to work really well...too well. I pushed the machine back on my work surface a few inches, and the battery slid out, breaking the plastic that holds the battery in. I'm assuming the tabs on the battery (the ones that can be locked or unlocked) just ripped through the plastic. There is no problem with the battery itself, other than it does not stay in, and thus my laptop has to stay plugged in.

Sager considers it Customer Induced Damage, so it's not covered under warranty. I guess I don't have much of an argument, since I did move the computer...but man, that's not very strong plastic. This was a very normal, low impact action, and it broke.

Anyways, has this happened to anyone, and if so do you have any recommendations?

Well, since it's not covered by warranty anyway, why not superglue it? The plastic thing that is, not the battery. Heh.

This is more a general Sager/Clevo question, but I figured I'd post it in here since I have a P150EM myself anyway.

I'm looking to pick up a second power supply for my machine to keep at the office, and there are a few Dell/Alienware adapters that look to be a bit slimmer than the one that came with my laptop. The one I'm particularly looking at is this:

Amazon.com : Dell PA-5M10 Family 150W Ultra Slim Power AC Adapter : Laptop & Netbook Computer Chargers & Adapters : Computers & Accessories

My question is, do these power supplies share the same adapter as the Clevos? I know there are a number of interchangeable parts between Alienware and Clevos (some video cards, for instance) -- is this so with power supplies as well?

    Thanks!

EDIT: Did some reading and realized that the one I linked above doesn't use the same pin size as my laptop, so it' skind of a moot point anyway.

GPU-Z will work but you need a program that uses the GPU such as furmark running in the background when you launch it. Once its running its fine.

    Hi guys,

Out of curiosity, how do you clean your rubber surface of your P150HM/EM/SM chassis?

I normally use water on a kitchen towel, but have heard that doing so can damage the rubber or cause the texture to be more abrasive / sticky. Is there any truth to this?

    Thank you
