There was a nice jump there because the MX are Kepler architecture and M are Fermi.

That's what I thought. Also, the 675 MX is 256 bit bus, while the 670m and MX are only 192. How much does that difference matter, and does that difference grow when overclocking? I've seen posts around the forum claiming a properly overclocked 675mx can start to reach 680 levels. Is that correct?

    Here we go :)

There is a gap yes, but not worth dropping the cash on a new MXM card.

What's funny is this is 3dmark vantage based I think which would actually stunt the lead of the 680M.

Ha, i love the scientific graph labelled "very Low" to "Amazing". At least to my eyes it does look like a pretty significant gap, i mean it's more than halfway to Amazing!

Hi Guys, Finally I managed to go into the Windows. I try to use XTU owever, it did not work. I try to increased multipliers to certain number but therewas no change on CPU clock at all. It is seem like my bios still lock. My current bios is 1.02.17LS3, KBC/EC firmware version is 1.02.11SAR. Any one of you ave an idea how to unlock it and using XTU to overclock my 3920XM? Thanks in advance. I have attached screenshot as well. Please have a look. Untitled.jpg

It should use the same audio out I would think. Does it do this with other media players as well, for example try VLC Player or Media player classic etc to see if they do the same thing.

If it's through a program check if it has audio options beside just using the default audio device.

It will be one of the programs set to the internal speakers rather than the default audio device. Also on the overclocking you may need to increase the TDP in order to let the CPU run faster.

I have a question with my P150EM. By default, the keyboard is blue and only changes to my preferred color (white for me) after entering windows and running the keyboard application.

Is there any way to fix another color, in my case white, as the absolute default color so that whenever I turn on the computer it is the one showing always?

No, it's the default set programmed into the EC on boot and it can't be changed.

The system bios and EC are very different beasts which means having control of one does not help the other.

Hi. Bought a p150em from a fellow NBR member. Received today. When I power it up it remains on a black screen for over 10 seconds and goes to BIOS screen. The same cycle happens again when I press exit. I've already messaged the seller and am awaiting their reply but thought I'd be proactive and ask on here too (as I'm impatient :) ).

Just to add, laptop comes with a SSD and as you can see from the link above of the screenshot, it does not show up.

I have tried the SSD in a Sony Vaio laptop and the Sony can't see it either

I have the HDD from the Sony Vaio into the Clevo and the Clevo goes to the same screen as link before and sees the HDD

Sorry for being such a newb but because it keeps going to the BIOS screen, does this mean there is no OS?

Looks like the OS was maybe on the SSD.

I have let seller know the latest and see what he says

Looks like SSD is faulty. Misunderstanding between me and seller regarding OS, i.e., no OS. So will install OS and hopefully get past that screen once and for all. Will chase up PCS/Intel regarding SSD.

Even if you put it in another machine it wont show up unless you format it. So I think the SSD may be ok, in the bios does it should show it as a boot option if it does the SSD is live.

So I just got my P150SM with no OS installed. Installed windows 7 but the Win 7 driver discs did not include the intel chipset drivers and other stuff like touchpad/keyboard drivers. Can I use the P150EM's windows 7 drivers from clevo's website?

Hey guys, weird problem regarding my laptop. Everytime I put it in sleep mode or close the lid, upon activating it again it shows no internet connections to connect to. If I shut down my laptop and turn it back on connections are no issue. Only after it is in sleep mode. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You could try updating the drivers or upgrading the card to the intel 7260 though only if it bothers you.

Hello. I recently updated to windows 8.1 and got the latest beta drivers 13.11 as well as new intel drivers for my Sager NP9150 with the 7970. My problem is that whenever I go to play games, i cant configure the new catalyst to make the games play on 7970 and not the intel. Any suggestions?

Try setting the drivers to globally use the AMD card.

The old catalyst control center showed the switchable graphics but on the 13.11 beta it does not, that's where my problem is.

I had some issues with this too. Try this...it's what I did and everything works

    Uninstall AMD drivers
    Reboot
    Uninstall Intel drivers
    Reboot
Windows then should install some basic Intel drivers for you
    Reboot
Install the latest 8.1 drivers from the Intel website, which I actually think are the same as the ones Windows installs
    Reboot
Install the latest 13.11 beta drivers from the AMD website
    Reboot

Anybody use an external monitor for your NP9150? I have a 675mx and I recently had an Asus 27 inch monitor. There was terrible stuttering every 10 seconds or so in every game I played. I returned it and got a full refund. I'm assuming I need a smaller size. If anybody could let me know of what monitors you guys are using it would be much appreciated.

Idle temps will vary depending on many factors, what really matters is what you're getting under load. You'll want to run a stress test program like Prime95 to see what you get to.
60C is no issue at all but higher then ideal for idle. Since this model is a little older I assume you bought it from someone. Have you checked out the inside of the computer to see if there is built up dust on the fans and vents, thats the number one cause for higher temps. If you check and there is then you'll want to get a can of compress air and clean those out (do it outside) you'll see temps drop quite a bit.

I did clean the fan, heatsink and it still idle around 60C, and with prime 95 it hover around 90+ I'm guessing it got throttled, One question how loud is the fan supposed to be? The fan is quiet silent even when stress testing prime95

    Hi people.

I have the p150em with 3630qm and 680m and I was wondering if there is any way to lower the CPU temperature, I hate that I can hear the fan speed higher because the CPU temperature is on the limit of the point where the CPU fan has to turn on.

Btw. the CPU is between 40-50 degrees celcius when idle.

    Regards

Have you tried cleaning the system out of dust or repasting the CPU/GPU? Both those you should see a pretty good decrease in temps, especially if it hasn't been done before.

Is it specifically the CPU fan you hear spinning up? There are some users that have ended up doing chassis mods and added additional cooling that way. Easiest option is to just prop up the back end for more airflow. With the temps you're reporting on the CPU above though it's likely not to affect it much.

Its the left exhaust, which is where the CPU is located, so I guess that it is the CPU fan I can hear. I have tried a cooling pad, but it only seems to have an effect while gaming.
