Nice score Apu! Which vbios did you use, and what was you Core clock? What did you do to prevent throttling?

    Amazing man!
Yeah Ive tried that vbios too, but it didnt work really... Core jumped up only when I first launched a game, if I quit it and restarted the game both the core and memory stayed at 325Mhz o_O

Now Im on the other clevo vbios from svl7s thread... and get immense throttling past 850 core

    No idea what to do

I tried that one too and the problem with that vbios is not overvolted so it cannot sustain the clocks without throttling. I guess just wait till he releases another vbios for the clevo 680m thats overvolted.

    Hey guys,

I just received my Sager NP9150 a couple days ago and it is amazing. However, I am currently getting an issue with the wireless connectivity using the Killer N-1202 wireless card. The internet will stop working and I will have to reconnect to the wireless network in order to fix it. This seems to occur most often when I am playing an online game (mostly Dota2) and when I am streaming videos or downloading files.

I am not sure if this is a problem with my computer or with the campus wireless service but I did not have this issue with my old laptop.

If anyone has experienced this problem before, could you please help out?

    Thanks

Skyrim runs fine on 7970M. No issues, smooth framerate maxed out. So no idea what you are doing, are you sure you bought it?

Hey guys, my NP9150 got here a couple days ago, absolutely loving it so far. I do have a question that I couldn't get resolved with xotic's tech support though. I bought a Samsung 830 series 128gb ssd, and I went to install it in the main hd bay when my laptop first got here, but the ssd is 7mm, while the stock hdd is thicker. With the laptop upside down, I had to lift up on the ssd a little bit to get it to connect with the sata port. This meant that it didn't sit flush with the bay, and there was room for it to move around. The ssd didn't come with a spacer or adapter, so I'm not sure what to do. Is it safe to have it in there like that? I was afraid it might damage the port or the ssd if it were to move around while in the laptop. Does anyone else here have an 830 series Samsung ssd or another 7mm ssd? Did you need an adapter or spacer of some sort? Right now I'm just using the stock 750gb hdd, but I'd love to get the ssd in to improve performance! Thanks guys!

maybe try fully uninstalling and cleaning (with ccleaner or a similar tool) out the program before reinstalling the paid version.

I had a similar problem before... How about you just put folded pieces of copypaper in the gap until it stops moving?

Or anything else for that matter, it just has to fill the gap.

I'd like something oem, as opposed to something less exact that I rigged myself. I'm going to call Samsung to see if they have a spacer to fit 9mm bays, but if that doesn't work out I'll have to make something myself I guess. What did you end up using?

I had exact same issue with mine when i got it. Reinstalled drivers from disc, tried drivers from the bigfoot website. I ended up trying the laptop at my friends place and using my phones wifi hotspot. It worked flawlessly in both cases. So i just replaced my router, and it solved the issue.
Dunno how that helps though considering your using campus wireless.

    I couldn't agree more...
you have to try pretty hard to have analog out/laptop speakers sounding this bad.

    this is not an exaggeration.

I just received my Sager NP9150 yesterday, here are my observations..

everything is great to livable..including the keyboard..
the keyboard doesn't really bother me at all..

    the speakers...
the little speaker on a phone or tablet sounds more natural to me.

the sub has no crossover it seems...it's just a bigger speaker on the bottom of the laptop..

the analog out is a complete joke...
try this at home... hook up your headphones to your laptop, listen to a song...no highs no lows...just really bright tinny mids..

now hook up the same headphones and hook them up to anything else, phone,mp3 player, walkman from 1986..shouldn't matter what you choose.

a laptop of this type should at least have attempted to have decent sound..I don't need or expect great sound, but decent would have been nice.

I did notice if you go into Playback Devices> Enhancements and disable all sound effects it sounds a little more natural... theres some serious coloration going on..

This Sh*&y audio is probably going to cause me to send this laptop back...

Apparently THX means Beware: Audio is really bad..
How the hell did THX lend it's name in any way to this...

I ignored the reviews on the poor audio for this laptop, thinking they were all audio snobs... boy was I wrong...

i totally agree about the sub-par speakers and sound. I came to this after using Dell XPS 15 for an year with the amazing JBL speakers.....just imagine how i feel about this piece of crap....

You don't need to go that far. I came from a 400€ Acer 5551G, which itself didn't have decent speakers and audio out, and my P150EM is clearly a downgrade sound-wise. But what I can't really understand is a guy in one of my local forums that insists and swears the sound is high quality.

Hi there I have a question if anybody can help. I am interested in buying a 1440p monitor. Is it possible to connect this to my Sager np9150 with GTX680m? I know it has display port and single DVI. The monitor I am looking at is catleap and crossover. I believe crossover has a display port input. Would this be sufficient to display at resolution of 1440p? Thanks

Has anybody actually been able to connect a Sager NP9150 to a 27 inch full resolution 1440p display monitor? If so how did you manage it?

The P150EM should have no problem with that resolution through DP.

The speakers/headphones have been giving me grief, too. I think the GPU may be causing interference when it's on, because sound quality noticeably goes up when it's off. It's still far below what I'd expect from a machine this expensive, but it's better. I guess I'll be getting some external solution soon.

For headphones and external speakers, i got myself the Fiio E10 DAC, and it gives brilliant sound quality. I will definitely recomend it. Got the info through one of the other threads in the forum, and really glad i did.

All I seem to see are these mini display port adapter and I'm guessing that wouldn't work on the Sager as I looked it up and it says it has a 1.1 display port

I dont have a P150EM, but I ended up using copypaper for an external enclosure that I have. I put an SSD in there.. and lifted it off with copy paper :). Just a small piece that is tightly folded so it lifts it with it's own pressure,

If your monitor doesn't have DisplayPort, grab yourself an active DisplayPort to Dual-link DVI, looks like the one in the link below: -

    http://www.commercialintegrator.com/images/photos/accel.jpg

bear in mind this adapter can range from 60-100, so if you are buying a monitor that supports such resolution, you are better off investing the money for the adapter into a monitor that has a DP input.

Oh right thanks for the information. I've just learned however that an adapter like those actually introduce their own input lag. This is not good for gamers really. Can anyone confirm this? Anyway an interesting thing I've noticed on my Sager np9150. The DVI port looks like a Dual link DVI port. I was under the impression that Sager Np9150 had a single dpi port.

Mine is the same as the 7th port down in this image

    http://topicstock-tech.pantip.com/tech/hardware/topicstock/2010/10/HP2962153/HP2962153-5.gif

Can anybody confirm that DVI is single port on Sager 9150 or else I shall assume mine is a dual. Thank you very much for any help.

I've used Revit and AutoCAD with that adapter and no signs of input delay, haven't tried games though

My p150em has a dual link dvi port on it, running a 680m too.

Just grab a monitor with all the inputs.

Thanks Kingyr. I'm just going to stick with the DVI to be safe as these Korean models have more reported problems with multi inputs. That's given me the go ahead to get it now I know its a Dual link DVI though so thanks.

It looks like a Dual Link DVI but it's actually single link. They put the dual link input on it so that any cable could fit, but the output is only single link.

I had my P150EM for a couple months now.
Anything I should update? No about?
    Any tips?

Only thing I did was cut out holes for the cpu/gpu fans and taped the heat sinks.
It says powered by THX. Where do I get the driver for it or how do I get it to work?
Can you change out the speakers? My Y580 had excellent speakers.

Thats normal with computers with any switchable graphics (Optimus) as its using the Intel GPU to test with. You can kinda trick it by turning on a game so the system switches to the 680M.

late reply, but oh well. here's a pic of my temps. the temp for cpu seems fine, never got above 88. max was around....80ish.
    temp.png

also, sometimes i would get disconnected from my game (league of legends) even though im connected to the internet. my internet is a bit wonky very unstable (frequent lag, and sometimes the internet dc), but this was weird.

has anyone ever had this problem before? i've never heard of it for these laptops

I got 7.0 the first time, and then 7.1 after updating drivers.
    And now I'm getting 5.3 :p
I have tried 2 different games, still the same score.
I have changed settings so that it only uses NVIDIA GPU...but anyway I only get 5.3.

    strange...
