The EM machines do not support this yet, it'll require a new BIOS is what is suspected at this time. Haven't seen anything user released or anything from Sager just yet.

Does anyone have any experience using a Blackmagic Design Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0 on a P151Em1? I know the BMIs are really finicky about which laptop's USB works.

Edit: reason I'm asking is because all online stores are not accepting a return on this, so I can't return it if I needed to.

Guys I'm having a serious problem. I'm getting an Error that says "Nvidia settings are not available: You are not currently using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU".

This happened after I installed he 320.49 drivers. I uninstalled it and reverted to the 314.22 drivers. But I still get the same error. I also noticed my games don't use my Nvidia card any more. Even WEI doesn't use the card coz my graphics ratings dropped from 7.3 to 6.5. Please what do I do? I don't want to do a fresh install just yet. I'm hoping there'll be other solutions. Thank you.

You could uninstall any Nvidia drivers you have now then run driversweeper Guru3D - Driver Sweeper, then reinstall the 314.22.

    Guys, sh*t just got real!
I was doing what Hutsady suggested. I noticed earlier than when I tried to uninstall my Nvidia drivers in the Normal windows mode, the uninstaller freezes or if I'm using device manager it freezes too. So I decided to do it in safe mode. I uninstalled it and took an extra step (as advised in some other forums) to uninstall and reinstall my intel 4000 drivers. I also used driversweeper to clean Nvidia drivers.
But when I restarted, I saw the windows loading GUI but after that nothing! I hear the windows 7 boot sound but no display. I even swipe my finger and it logs in (I know by sound that it does) but still no display. I try my DVi cable with my LG monitor, still nothing...I'm guessing I have to format now

Can you start in safe mode? If so try a system restore to a date before you installed the 320.49 drivers.

Just wondering, seeing as I am one of the first few to get this machine and missing out on the Fn+1 max fans hotkey, is it possible to update the BIOS or EC to enable the hotkey? I've seen posts in the P157SM Owner's Lounge claiming that an updated BIOS or EC will activate more hotkeys.

    Thanks in advance!

Yes you can do so, email your reseller for the latest BIOS/EC.

Hey guys, I've been searching Google for a few days. I asked in the general forum before and go no response. This is a make or break thing for me.

I have a pretty nice desktop right now, but I need portability. My current rig is a 3570k, gtx670, 240gb ssd, etc. Pretty high end stuff. I have someone offering me a 9130 + cash for my system right now. I'm debating it. I do want to upgrade the GPU in the future (it has the 670mx), and I'm wondering if it could handle a 100w gpu if I put the 180w power brick on it. I don't know if it's as simple as a new adapter or not.

Officially the NP9130 will not support cards higher then 75w TDP. Sager says per Clevo the motherboard is not designed for it and will shorten the lifespan of it.

Has anyone updated to windows 8.1? Are you experiencing some problems?
I've updated my np9130 and it showed a watermark saying secureboot isnt installed correctly. Tried to search for ways to remove it and i didnt find any. Also. Apps run on low res but the display and metro apps are still on 1920x1080 yet google chrome looks so blurred.

Can i revert to windows 8? Need help guys! Thanks!

    Right click the desktop

    Screen resolution

At the bottom click on the blue text "Make text and other items larger or smaller"

Tick "Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays"

Let it log you off and log back in again.

Different machines have different buttons, look for a prompt as you start the machine up on boot up, you might need to disable the boot logo.

    Hey guys.
I have currently checked out Ebay, and found this AMD 8970M upgrade kit for a P150EM and P151EM.
I would like to know if anyone knows how reliable these kits are?

Is such an upgrade possible, and what would it require?

    So far what i've learned/read:

    - this kit on ebay: - mentions it is guaranteed to work
    - refers that all you need is some drivers from Eurocom
    - That it was tested
    - According to the seller there is no need for an AC change
    - a P150EM was working with an AMD 8970M
    - a P151EM was upgraded with a 7970M

So based on this, i would think it would work, but if someone more xperienced has any further insights i'd love to hear.

    Thanks in advance

I dont recall hearing of anyone getting the 8970M to work in the NP9130.
Sager/Clevo have never officially support the 100W TDP video cards on that model like the 8970M, only 75W TDP cards are supported.

I was asking, due to that exactly.
I have read, and heard so many things, and so different.

this ebay store, seems to be directly connected to Eurocom, and the kit really is for p150em and P151em. making my doubt.

    CLEVO P150EM/P151EM Complete VGA Upgrade Kit;HD8970M 4GB;MXM 3.0b | eBay

Sorry if linking is not allowed. But could you check it and give your oppinions.

If it works, since i'll have a spare 8970m, i could actually sell it to a friend with a p151em.

By that listing it looks like it will work. And from what I understand that is Eurocom's ebay user id. Unfortuneatly the no returns policy is always a turn off. I'd shoot them an email about it to see if you can get more info.

Might be able to try it myself. Although i am afraid of bricking the P151EM, and that would suck really bad.
Got the AMD 8970M from Clevo covered.
Just needed some insights on the process, or if it's a simple plug in process.

I was under the impression that the P151EM had the same mobo as the p150EM, Intel hm77 express chipset.
Shouldn't it be a matter of BIOS to allow 100W cards? Sorry if im shooting in the dark here.....

Am just trying to figure out what to do with the spare 8970m, and my friend who has the P151EM.

The motherboard PCB is identical, it comes down to what components they put on it.

okay so i have noticed that recently I have what seems like screen tearing on my laptop screen (and i know its just the screen cause the problems not there on an external display) and i have no idea what it is... it happens on webpages, games, videos, basically anything that requires refreshing and i was wondering if anyone else had this problem, or if anyone knows what it is

The response time of the display can be a little slower on notebook displays but it should not be that huge, what refresh rate are you running?

Is there anything I can do to limit the fan noise? The fans are blasting at full speed during non intensive things like web browsing when I'm in class. Extremely annoying...

You can try Fn +1 (not F1), maybe they are set to be on full blast, if so that will turn it off.

Also what are your CPU/GPU temps, maybe its doing it because of high temps?

Right now doing some web browsing and music (plus a torrent downloading) , 60 degrees for the CPU and 50 degrees for the idle GPU. Fan is running at full speed it seems. Fn + 1 does nothing.

The only time the fans are quiet is for 10 seconds after awakening the laptop from sleep.

Once torrent finished, temps around 50ish now, fan noise has remained constantly loud.

Are the fans running becuase of high temperatures. Since your computer is at least 7-8 months old it may have dust built up on the fans and in the vents which is blocking proper airflow resulting in higher temps, which in turn result in the fans spinning more to try to keep the temps down. Open up the bottom of the computer and clean those out with a can of compressed air.

To put the computer in power saver mode you do so in Windows power options which you can get to by opening the start button and search for Power Options or through Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Power Options.

I've cleaned out the fans recently and putting it in power saver mode doesn't do anything. You asked me about what my temps are before, and they are not that high at all. There's nothing else I can do? I know that the fan speed profiles are built into the motherboard somehow.

The fan profiles are built into the custom EC firmware and are not editable. How did you clean the fans? Did you also check the metal of the heatsink?

Right now the fans are loud and my core temps are 45 degrees. If I didn't properly clean out the fans / heatsink is messed up, wouldn't my temperatures be higher? Would flashing help? I haven't done that before although I do consider myself pretty computer proficient.

So, has anyone actually successfully upgraded their NP9130's GPU?

    I'm considering getting a 770m but I'm worried about 3 things;

Bios, the Heatsink compatibility, and driver compatibility...

The heatsink seems like it'd fit, but I'd just like to be sure. Driver compatibility worries me a little because the notebook wasn't made for that GPU. Bios compatibility worries me a little too because of the very same reason; however that being said people seem to have gotten other cards to work, like the Radeon HD 7970 (according to eBay, anyway!)

If anyone on here has successfully upgraded or has any insight on if this would work or not I would greatly, greatly appreciate it.
