Yeah, if it's ONE thing about finding stuff for a Clevo... it's kind of hard. Not only do most people not sell their spares until the laptops are out of use, but they also list it under different names. For example, if I wanted a P375SM-A backplate, I could also search for a "Origin EON 17 SLI backplate". Because the people who bought it from OriginPC don't know it's a Clevo.

I wish manufacturers would list what clevo chassis they're using because the ridiculous number of different names far outstrips MSI and ASUS and Gigabyte rebranders out there, and it'd confuse a whole lot less people.

@Prema , I can drop and play the 4960x with out installing new CPU drivers is that correct? Or do I need to install them at boot through windows with a thumb drive? Also was wondering do I need to have UEFI enabled or disabled for 4960x? I thought I read that it needs to be enabled......maybe only for windows 8.....??
    Thanks in advance

    4.4 GHz XTU 4960x.JPG

Up and running, here. runs about 33C idle. Successful dual hydro mount as well GPU 1 idle at 33. Right now 4.4 is a sweet spot for low end bench, thought I was gonna break 1400 XTU with 4.4 GHz, benched a couple 4.5 XTU's dropped 100-150 points 1200's. Checking the GPU now.

I think it's a bit of both now, he has the base of the heatsinks with fan and then the water block attached to them to help draw away heat.

Booted stable at 325A, 220watts through the core @Meaker

@Santander , I have two H100i corsair hydro-coolers, one is mounted to the CPU, and one replaces the fan on GPU1, I only have two fans contributing to cooling inside the system, one on GPU2 and one that is above the ram

    65471.jpg 8456.jpg 145435.jpg

@Meaker, Although I can not disconnect GPU1 fan so it is just kind of dangling right now. I was wondering if I can remedy the Fn+1 error by jumping the yellow again from the CPU1 fan like I did in the case of the first mod?
    Thanks in advance.

    Is that an M.2?

@johnksss , RVE board I am not familiar with?
Here is a screen shot of my XTU settings if anyone cares to look,
@Santander , was wondering if you wouldn't mind posting your XTU settings for that 1429 score.
    Thanks in advance

    4.5GHz XTU at 4.8 settings.JPG

    Just for everyone's information.
I had to install XTU 4.4 because it would not function properly when I change the BIOS values manually in XTU 5.2 version.

XTU1341 @4.4 GHz, hits 4.5GHz at that score, 54C that is super cold for that score I think. Hitting 1330's with 4.5Set. Even touching above 4.5 with @Santander 's high settings on a single core BSOD. I have never hit a 1300 XTU with 4.4 GHz before. So far the CPU seems fine, but I think it is a bit weak compared to the 3970X.......at least so far. It likes Wattage (hit 233Watts) but it doesn't like to clock up very well, at least not yet. Santander do you have hyper-threading enabled or disabled in bios?

Actually I don't feel like it is a competition really, just trying to see how good my luck is in the silicon lottery.

The only way to accurately compare two of the same products is to test them at similar settings. I am not trying to out do anyone but myself, which I think is constructive towards learning and understanding the functionality of my product. And if that isn't enough, remember that these powerful computers are helping to solve things like cancer protein folding and other high demand/time consuming tasks. I feel that pushing my system to its absolute stabilized limit, is a very small piece of a much larger picture and technology.

@Santander , you only posted because I asked you for your help, Thanks for doing that.....even though you had decided not to. (got to respect a guys decision)

I like to see your post and your scores, It gives others something to strive toward in their own endeavors.

    Sincerely,
    Taka

The 3970x is now a paper weight. Don't feel bad, I am not offended in anyway by your posting your high score.. I mean I can see if your "intense impulse" to OC interrupted your life in some significant way, then yeah you might wan to restrain yourself..( jk) , I still have a bit of work to do on the OC for the new 4960x, I am not sure it will beat the 3970 but I will give it a shot.

The 2.5" slots are SATA III and are easy to access.. 2-3 screws for bottom cover, slide it off and you have access to the slots... The mSATA slot is not that easy to access... You need to remove the keyboard and or palmrest...

If a reseller doesn't want to sell you spare parts if your serial isn't in their system you should purchase the part elsewhere.

I thought I would share this with my P570WM brothers. It helped me, so maybe you will appreciate it equally. Being able to pre-amp the almost worthless subwoofer (without pre-amping the other speakers) was especially useful in perking up the sadly inadequate internal speaker system.

I'm not using that driver, only the EQ program. Maybe PM @ssj92 and see if he is aware of the bad link. I am using the 6.0.1.6895 Realtek driver and it's working fine with the EQ. The one mentioned by ssj92 is from station-drivers.com, so maybe it moved or was taken down.

Edit: Here is a link to the latest Realtek audio drivers...

Thanks for the info. and sshot. I will try that. I have tinkered around with mine before and got it working amazing(compared to what it came as stock), but I was never able to reproduce the settings in between the sound blaster software it came with and the real tech drivers and GUI and the system controls audio ( that's three separate systems that are all trying to control the audio at one time/ controlling settings); or at least that's what I could figure. I still was never able to reproduce that success again. I know that I uninstalled and reinstalled drivers.

So far I have only been able to clock a 4.6 in XTU, but I haven't had the time to work on it any further. I did get a 4.7 boot but not for long. For my 1465XTU with the 3970x, I started with an idle core temp of about 19C need to get some chilly nights or some ac for that kind of clock. Right now my idle temps are about 28 to 30C. Just been waiting for a cool night and some time to try to push further.

If you have PLL override enabled you can boot at 5.1 GHZ with every setting in BIOS ,CPU performance tuning maxed and maxed in XTU, but it never hits that, it will spike to abt 4.61 GHz. With it off it is like night and day. This is much different than the 3970x because you could not boot this way at all and it had a hard limit of about 308 Core Amps.

I've noticed the 4930k boosting 100mhz above the rated multiplier on occasion, slightly odd and may not help stability.
