Holy crap, thanks everyone, Fn + 1 worked! I had this thing for about 2 years now and did not know about this ability!
Are there any other useful hotkeys I should know? Is there a list of them somewhere?

The Fn key combos should be listed in the user manual. You can find it on the Clevo site. Page 48 has an overview of the Fn keys.

clevo need the cpu fan software rather than fn+1 have to manually toggle it. a software similar to p870dm. or overall just a new computer with skylake-E

It's older hardware so that functionality is not built into the EC unit.

Nice.

Can you run 3DMark 11? Curious on what it scores for Physics score there so I can compare it to my 2680 v2.

Hey guys
Got a schenker p570wm, and picked up a nice 980m so needed to flash prema to get native driver support
All flashed well no problems apart from the number pad doesn't work, well it does apart from the last two rows (3,6,9, enter) I'm sure I have done something stupid but would really appreciate any advice
I noticed when booting to usb there is an option to select a keyboard layout, top one for UK and Western Europe (this has a UK keyboard installed) but being a schenker should I have maybe selected the US option?
Edit: it was all working happy before flashing may I add

Are you totally sure it was working before?
-
Yeah 100 percent, just tried a p170sm-a keyboard in and it's exactly the same, really odd
Everything else works, I'm totally stumped
This is a picture of my current bios info
Edit: when I say they don't work that's not correct, the second photo one of the buttons where my finger is turns on the Scr Lk, number 9 seems to be a home button now

Reflash it then along with EC.

Apologies for the multi posts tapatalk went mental
Ok this is unknown territory for me,
Just had a quick read, so I need he EC files and then I can add them to the bootable usb and flash as normal?sorry for the noobiness of this
Just don't fancy ending up with a brick
Just realised also that the Fn key is now acting as the Windows key!

sounds like your function key is forced on? this can happen with any laptop if u have that settings on now i dont recall ever seeing it though. try reflash see if that works.

You should always update the EC and BIOS at the same time if you can.

Hi guys,
I have a problem on my Clevo P570WM (i7 3960X and 970m SLI) : it takes ages to load windows (more than 2 minutes). I'm currently running Prema's BIOS and vBIOS.
I've found out that it's related to the graphic driver, if I uninstall it the boot time is normal.
Do I have to install modded drivers or something ? -
Yeah I know, I was on the latest stock bios from schenker which is the same EC
It's totally screwed,
Have dropped Prema a couple of messages for advice just awaiting s response
Seems a few other people have the same issue

The best rule of thumb is when you have an awesome BIOS that does what you want it to do, never... ever... change it. An exception for a Clevo would be that it has been fully tested by @Prema testing group first and proven to cause no harm. Otherwise, you are just begging for problems. In other words, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. That's the best policy for most things, and very much so for firmware. Stock Clevo BIOS is much like stock NVIDIA vBIOS... pretty much always suck, but Clevo stock BIOS is even worse.
-
Get your point but the lack of 980m support means for me especially it was a must, besides I have had pretty much every clevo going and always used prema's great bios mod just happens to be the one time I have a problem, sure it's fixable though, well hopefully

So you have tried to reflash it?
-
Yes, it should be. But, perhaps it is not the BIOS.
Unfortunately, an inordinate amount of drama also now applies to GeForce cancer drivers. The latest may not be the greatest where their drivers are concerned. Depending on what driver you are trying to use, you may need to use an updated vBIOS. NVIDIA has been doing some really retarded stuff with drivers for a long time and many people are having functionality problems with drivers newer thatn 362.00 unless they flash an updated vBIOS from Prema. If you haven't already looked into that, this would be a good starting point. You could also try using an older driver, like 362.00 or older, and see if that fixes the problem.DreDre likes this. -

Yep sure have both with the original EC as per prema's advice and with prema's bios and EC and its the same, new keyboard arrived yesterday and it's the same
It's definitely a bios/EC problem, there are three other guys posting on Wordpress with the same issue

Is Windows installed on a single drive or RAID0? If you haven't already done so try 362.00 or older drivers and see if the problem is the same or better. Are you using UEFI video in the BIOS or Auto? If it is on UEFI, try Auto, or vice versa.
-
Tried UEFI over the weekend as it was set to normal using a spare hard drive, did a full Windows install and was the same
I'll try the older drivers tonight actually and see if that makes a difference
Everything is installed on a single hard drive so no raid array or anything
I'll report back when I have tried some older drivers

It seems Nvidia has not been doing the best job on these new drivers as some older games seems to lose performance with the new drivers. Even some of the WHQL authorized drivers have not been optimized for the latest games. I have been using Modded Nvidia drivers since Eurocom no longer updates video drivers for the Panther 5. I have not had any issues with these and the Panther 5 boots up in 10 or so seconds when i last checked. Although i am intrigued with the Prema BIOS I am reluctant to Flash the Panther at this point of fear of having similar issues like the ones that are being experienced by some. Hopefully Prema and others can offer some help to those having issues with the BIOS.
@Mr. Fox, I noticed that you no longer have the Panther 5 in your signature. Did you sell off yours? I am reluctant too sell mine and it tugs on my heart strings...LOL...but I know I better sell it sooner than later.... -

I think he sold his Panther due to the lack of parts down the road. More and more difficult to obtain spare parts for this machine. Better to get a good price for the machine now than selling for a much lower price later.

That and it's always fun to play with the latest tech
-
sad thing is even with latest tech, stuck with 4c cpu. with 8MB cache on 6700k and 6MB cache on BGA garbage 6820HK, its barely any improvement over 4yrs old ivy bridge unless new instruction in software are used and those are very limited to 1-2 software at most, such as firefox/chrome.
though i wouldnt mind using 64gb of ram and the faster NVMe SSDs, we can't really take advantage of fast SSDS with cpu/software being the bottleneck. 6c/8c makes a lot of difference on multi threaded work load especially when overclocked. -
Right spent a full 2 Days trying everything and still the same
I am completely done in

Yes. It was a hard decision and I had an amazing sample of the 4960X CPU that I loved to death. A couple of things drove my decision. After having my first pair of 980M turn out to be crappy samples that would not overclock worth a darn, a pair of 980M fail in the Sky X9 review machine, watching @ssj92 have two 980M die in his Sky X9 and then have one of the two replacement 980M I purchased for the Panther turn out to be a pile of crap, I finally decided it was time to be done with the beast. It was too expensive and demoralizing to continue on the 980M path with bad results.
In addition to that, parts are super hard to find for the P570WM now that it is discontinued. I know one member of this forum needs a ribbon cable that is not available so he has to use an external keyboard. It is truly an amazing machine, but a dead one with no parts available would not do me much good so I decided to say goodbye to the monster while it was still kicking. And, there was no way in heck I was going to consider flushing more money down the toilet on potentially more bad samples of 980M cards. Since I could not overclock my 980M SLI as far as @johnksss and our other friend that keeps changing his forum name there was no point in having it... that was the primary reason I wanted it to begin with, LOL. But, no regrets... P870DM-G is the overall best laptop I have ever owned.Last edited: Jun 25, 2016 -
Agreed. Desktop 980 is a much more fun card and much more reliable than 980m. Sadly I haven't had time and won't until August to benchmark the crap out of my laptop.
P870DM, P570WM, M18x, best laptops I've owned and I've owned a lot.

Oh yeah... totally agree... and it that order, too. M18xR1/R2 has them all whipped in build quality, but too old and too many limitations to keep me excited at this point.

My friend still has the M18xR2 I sold him. We are hoping the 1080m (SLI of course) will work in it but if not our plan is to just upgrade it to 980m sli and keep it there. More than enough for maxing out games on the native 1080p display for awhile.
I miss the build quality but love the performance of my machine.Mr. Fox likes this. -

I'd have to put my old Acer 7738G in there, just for the cheap and cheerful nature of it, went from dual core 240M to unlocked quad core and HD5850M.
Those sorts of systems don't exist any more. -
Help
Look Bios ME Version N/A ?????
-
@brman2000005 - you're probably going to have to pull the BIOS EEPROM, program it and put it back on. Or, purchase one pre-programmed with stock firmware and flash it with @Prema BIOS. I had something similar happen a while back on an Alienware M18xR1. It said "unknown" instead of N/A and that's how I fixed it.
-
Agreed, same thing on a 17x I had

No worries, give me a few Minutes, I'll prepare and mail you a fix.
