is it possible to fit a single 1080 with modded power source? single 1080 seems be even better than 980m sli.

Throughout cleaning the four fans, I've noticed that one of them seems less loose than the other three. Off and on I'd get high temps, and it would be that fan (starting left to right) the first fan along with the component that is hot. Due to it's stiffness, it looks like that I may have to replace that fan. I hope that isn't the issue, but I have to thoroughly clean it to prevent any high temps.

I am getting 99% utilization on both GPUs but the clocks are not boosting. They stay at 540MHZ. I have never seen this before. I am thinking the Nvidia drivers are conflicting with the Windows 10 anniversary update. I just did not want to reinstall Windows 10 i was hoping some one discovered a work around or know of a fix. Thanks Meaker@Sager though.

Have you tried to uninstall driver with DDU and then install drivers from @j95 ? He can probably give you some advice also https://www.techinferno.com/index.p...t-upgrades-driver-support-modded-inf/&page=53

    To whom I may request,
I have recently experienced numerous blue screens. I am not sure if it is an Nvidia driver(updated recently), or a windows 7 bundled update that was recent. I set BIOS to Boot EFI only and disabled CSM. System will not boot now, and there is zero access to BIOS menu. I have either corrupted my EFI (screen/ monitor) monitor driver or I have in some way burnt up either a GPU or a CPU. The most recent BSOD was followed by a strange clicking noise which I initially thought was one of the mod internal 5V fans hitting something. However after inspection this is not the case. Recently reset CMOS through with disassembly and jumping the contacts or the CMOS battery. I am not able to open a BIOS screen, and the screen remains blank on boot. Any advise would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Update: I was able to reset bios in the blind, it was a UEFI conflicted setting I believe. not exactly sure. but its up an running only a day after this post.

Your quadro needs CSM in order to boot (the vbios is not UEFI). Try removing the CMOS battery for 5 mins.

I does boot though IIRC so you may have to use screenshots of the bios to figure out how to blind navigate to the setting and change it.

Is this the case with only kepler and older quadros or it still affects the newer maxwell/pascal quadros as well?

Nvidia don't support 1060 SLI sadly. A single 1070 is going to be the best for it.

I'm having a hard time with vulkan. I just installed latest drivers and anything that supports vulkan crashes whereas I had a driver 4 versions below and was having the same issue. Why is vulkan not working for me? I even installed from the official vulkan website.

Im still on win7. I think I found out the problem. Most apps that utitlize vulkan don't auto restart when changed to vulkan. So I have to manually restart them to stop the crashes before proceeding.

I bought a new 3dvision kit expecting to do some 3d gaming. But when I hook up the external emitter, it doesn't work. No3d options in ncp. I remember prema saying internal 3d didn't work with 980ms so I thought he meant the emitter. Did he mean everything? So there's no way to do 3dvision on 980 on the p570wm?

What if I put my 780m from my other machine in with my 980m machine? what would happen? would 3dvision activate again?

You need the internal emitter + right card + right panel to do 3d vision on the internal screen. The kit is for external screens.

This is some ol' bs lol. Chinese el cheapo SBS 3D headset it is!

Can a user upgrade their p570wm hdmi ports to 2.0?
and I see that the pimax 4k uses hdmi 1.4b. P570WM uses hdmi 1.4a. So would it be able to work at all or will it just have lower fps?

You will get the HDMI based on the GPU inserted as it is directly connected to the MXM card.

So I can use it but speeds will be reduced much like using a usb 3.0 cord in a 2.0 slot? I see sites that say 980m supports hdmi 2.0 but the actual port is 1.4a. So the port on the laptop wont restrict speed?

It might, I am not sure if there are technical limitations on the port itself needing specific termination ETC but you should be ok for 1.4b.

Yes it's certainly worth pointing our that if you reduce colour or chroma you can get to 60Hz on the HDMI with Nvidia 1.4b (but the reduced colour will impact image quality).

I designed this small board in my own initiative with a program. After that, I had the mini board printed by a PCB manufacturer. The board carries PWR_SRC and GND from the MXM slot.

thats a nice design, i found a site they help produce cheap pcb wanted one that can do powersource for 2nd GPU just like yours but on top of that also wanted the pcb to support 1 or 2 pcie ssd using the lanes in MXM if you know what i mean, and power from MXM 3.0 socket as well donno how they would work.

do u think that would be bootable? i mean the graphics are seen from start of bios if the same lanes used for storage its doable?

anyone know why with hwinfo the temp is always like 10-15c higher than throttlestop? i normally believe in throttlestop cause from my experience its more accurate however i also know this p570wm throttles at 90c and it does throttle and lower frequency when hwinfo hits that temp, not when throttlestop hits it.

@unclewebb do you know if another software would affect readings and mess up when it should throttle?
