I'm wondering what is the best available GPU for the Sager NP9570 if I'm coming from an SLI 880M? I've read the 980M SLI is not worth the switch over... Just trying to enjoy Destiny 2 beta without Ocing my 880m's to death... lol Is it time for a new Sager/Clevo in my near future? TIA

The 980m is a nice step up, it can just be expensive. I'd take a single 980m over the air of 880m cards.

Are you asking if it will or are you having trouble?Tetsuro likes this. -
Hello.
A trouble occurred.
GTX980M dose not boot in P570WM3.
It dose not boot even when it returns to GTX680M. -

Check you have the CPU and memory seated correctly. When you say not boot how exactly does the system behave? Fans spin? Anything light up?
-
did you ever had one of these beast papusan?
ive also heard eurocom bringing mxm 3.0 model 1080, would it work in this laptop? @Meaker@Sager -
No, Dellienware. Now Falienware!! Yoo have seen the direction determined by Azor? Hope Clevo come back with similar powerful monster again. I would jump right on it!!

*Gets out crystal ball (which looks suspiciously like a magic 8 ball) the odds are bad* -
so how come only 1060 could go into it but not 1080 arent they same gen?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
MXM cares not for your same generations
-
so that means 1060 mxm connector portion is actually different than 1080?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
It means that mxm is usually quite fickle and what seems like an obvious swap in can turn out not to be.
Minor PCB revisions have caused cards that worked perfectly to be a total no go. -
CPU and memory ok.
CPU fan spin.
VGA fan stop.
keyboard only light up.
BIOS not boot. -
Thanks!!! I'll work on that upgrade...is it purchaseable through sagernotebook.com?
-

I don't think it was officially offered by us IIRC. It has been a little while.

the 1080 mobile card has a physical power input usually some place near the top of the card. they require a lot of power.
on a side note, anyone interested in that x7200 i got thinking it was a p570wm? ebay item number is 332364942945. -

See if removing any part changes this behaviour. -

hey, with intel wireless card AC 7260 im getting issue with it, wifi dropping off frequently while my other laptops stay connected just fine. I am thinking the batch of wifi card has issues as ive seen on few forums out there.
just wonder any other cards that is capable of wifi + bluetooth will work in this machine? maybe another intel card. @Meaker@Sager know any? -
iirc someone managed to fit a 1080 and made an mxm-shaped power connector for the P570WM + clevo 1080 mxm

No beeping or shut down? Could be a bad CPU as rare as that sounds. -
yes but i believe that still did not work.
bump, anyone have any idea for wifi card that has bluetooth as well works in this laptop? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Any mini PCI-E you like, the mini PCI-E version of the 7260ac for instance.
-
well thats the one it defaults in p570wm doesnt it? mpcie intel 7260 AC is the mini pcie card which is what ive got and i think theres issue with major batches of it.
there any other mpcie wifi cards that have both bluetooth + wifi? from intel or another company like killer/broadcom wont matter. -
No Beep.
When the AC adapter is inserted, power is turned on without permission of the power button.
After that, power turns off after a few seconds and the power turns on again after a few seconds.
After the power is turned on, the screen is black and the BIOS does not start. -

The killer 1202 was the competitor IIRC. -
i'll check it out, i need bt badly. clevo need to separate bt and wifi into 2 different module lol

I have a Sager NP9570 P570WM3 originally came with an i7-3930k, nVidia GTX680m in SLI, and Win7 Ultimate.
The BIOS was changed to Prema Mod Bios Revision 1.03.07PM V5 and memory was upgraded to 32Gb (4 x 8Gb module) of Corsair Vengeance 2133Mhz running at 1866Mhz ( 2 kits of CMSX16GX3M2B2133C11) and after that, I upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro.
Everything was work working fine until I recently changed the processor from i7-3930k to Xeon E5-2690 V2 in which it couldn't boot up and had a dark screen.
I pulled out all but one of 8Gb Corsair Vengeance memory modules and it booted up OK. I added a 2nd 8Gb module and it booted up without a problem. However, when I tried to add the 3rd 8Gb memory module or 4th 8Gb memory module, it won't boot up at all just like before with a dark screen.
All the 8Gb memory modules work individually when swapped out one at a time and each single module boots up without a problem by themselves. They just won't boot up with more than 2 memory modules in the slots. When they boot up, the memory module(s) run at Command Rate 1T.
The i7-3930k is Sandy Bridge E and the Xeon E5-2690 V2 is Ivy Bridge EP family, so I don't know if that's a factor in why I can no longer use all four 8Gb memory modules to the full 32Gb memory that the P570WM is capable of.
Has anyone here experienced this problem or something similar before?
Any suggestion how this problem can be fixed?
Thanks for reading my situation. -

Play with the timings and command rate a little.

I Definitely can't help you but when you do get it going it's going to be a multi tasking beast. Good luck, hope you get it going.supernovastar likes this.

If the processor (i7 4960X) can handle 64gb of memory will 16gb ram sticks work in the p570wm? I saw someone selling theirs a while back and it had 64gb of ram in the computer but it only recognized 32gb. Is anyone running 64gb in one of these?

I think it needs to be 8GB per DIMM due to how the memory controller is structured.

Thanks @Meaker@Sager , one more question. I'm going to install 32gb ram in the machine. Will I notice a real difference between 1600mhz CL9 ram compared to 2133mhz CL11 ram? I use it for business, estimating software, architecture software(CAD) and I do a lot of multi tasking.

1866mhz should get you pretty much all the boost over 1600mhz and should be a bit cheaper than 2133mhz.

I had a 2680v2 in my P570WM with 32GB 2133Mhz (4x4GB) G.SKILL or Corsair (I forgot which one) but it ran fine.
Pretty much same processor as yours. It might be your timings as @Meaker@Sager mentioned. Also our memory is stuck @ 1866Mhz due to the Xeon CPUs. -
Yes, I agree that having the most stable timings and command rate will most likely fix my problem. However, I have the Prema Mod Bios 1.03.07PM V5 and I think that it has the Command Rate at 1T and I don't think I can change it to 2T in the Prema Bios. I read that there was a 2T Edition of the Prema Mod Bios for those using faster memory modules or more than 16GB memory as 2T is more stable for those two situation.
My other option is to buy another 32GB of memory modules at 1600Mhz that have been known to be stable at command rate 1T with the P570WM.
Thanks for you suggestion. -
Hi ssj92,
Yes, your E5-2680 v2 with 10 cores is almost exactly like mine. What Bios did you have in your P570WM? ...was it a Prema Mod 1.03.07PM V5 in a 2T edition?
I wonder if the G.Skill ram is more stable running at 1T command rate. Thanks for chiming in. -
Hi Jon Webb,
Indeed! That's what I hope it to be...a multi tasking beast as you say! And especially handy with video editing and rendering while working on other things. Cheers. -
It was whichever version that was available publicly on the Prema site back then. It wasn't any special version, just the normal Prema bios for the laptop.
-
laptop could have taken in 64gb ram with 16gb ram stick but prema couldnt get microcode from intel so it didnt go any further.

X79 Intel chipset is restricted to 4Gb chips so max is 32GB. Only Intel can resolve this by updating their MRC code.Jon Webb likes this. -

We tested and approved both GTX 1070 and P5000 for P570WM models. As long as you have 120Hz eDP panel you are good to go. However your VGA heatsink needs to be modified to fit 1070 card. This is standard size 82x105mm MXM3 card without SLI connector.

I'm not an engineer using (AutoCAD or SolidWorks) but being able to use the 1070 or P5000 in these machines will add quite a bit of life to them. The i7 4960X or a Zeon and a P5000, that is a serious portable workstation.Mr. Fox likes this.

Greetings,
Seems my 2696v2 decided to die on me, so I decided to purchase a 1680v2 since it's about high time I did some overclocking, which I haven't done in a LONG time, and never on this laptop.
To that end, I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction regarding some quick and dirty Prema BIOS settings and XTU settings to help maximize the chip's potential.
Thanks. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
I usually like to characterise my chips, see what voltage will let it run stock then at +100mhz etc.
-
Th
Thanks Meaker...it's just that I don't see undervolt options for this chip in XTU, unless I missed them....?
